You know what I love most about these interviews? I feel like they're almost catching me up on 10+ years of KZread culture. I mean I know who the Sidemen are, I've seen plenty of their stuff, but I don't really think about them beyond some of their vids. The "learning by osmosis" of you guys talking about "this guy does this but other KZreadrs have done that" and such is just so interesting. Things like this REALLY help newer creators so thanks!!

Yes! I watch KZread for entertainment like most, but never really think about the behind the scenes, that it's actually a huge industry, and every channel has so many things behind the scene, it's not just a vid, there's pre and post production. They really put it in perspective and the comparisons really show all the different types of productions on the same platform. And ironically it makes for great entertainment

Im on of those fan that has grown up watching them and always supporting them. Constantly producing videos, merch and everything else that they do to its best. Ive bought their merch, tried the vodka and sides when i travelled to the UK. The brand is so huge that i basically planned the trip for the very slim and impossible chance of seeing them but i realise that they are at the point where people will fly over and actually try their stuff which shows how far their reach actually is. They make quality merch that ive worn for years and no hate to other creators but some creators just put out merch for revenue but they always dont care about the design or quality of such products. This has been a really great podcast to the insight of Sidemen for the past few years. I appreciate how detailed and how well colin and samir were prepared for the interview. You have earned yourself a new subscriber. This is actually the first time ive watched a podcast from the start to the end.

Im 31 and still every Sunday is a good day for me. It’s Sidemen Sunday. And more of my friends, same age, have this feeling. It’s really like Jordan said, I grew up with them together. When my mother was at IC, the moments I couldn’t be with her I would watch them play Golf It or Golf with friend. Just to keep my mind at another place for example. They became my therapists if you know what I mean. In a way they’ve also been my teachers. I’m Dutch and yes we learn English from a young age but looking at those guys, watching and listening and also commenting on their videos my English improve drastically. To the point that I now speak, write and read it fluently. Because of that I have my current job, a job where I need to speak English 80% or the time. And so they were also very beneficial for me in that as well. I have loads of respect for all of them.

Hey guys, really loved this episode as always! I'm 20 now and have grown up watching the Sidemen. As someone who studies and works in the media space, I recently saw this amazing breakdown of the current situation of the creator economy by Jack Conte, the CEO of Patreon. He basically emphasised on how earlier it was fans that found a creator's content, and stuck around to watch all of it, thus building stronger communities; compared to today where platforms have super personalised algorithms which pushes similar type of content, resulting in fans not investing enough emotionally towards certain creators because they're able to consume a certain type of content through multiple creators, rendering the actual personality of the creator irrelevant to a certain degree. I found this to be an amazing insight, and maybe it could be a part of any of your further discussions in the space.

Yeah man, it's the truth. I'm 31 myself and I still watch most of the Sidemen videos. Ofcourse there is lots of content focussed on the younger ones, but I know at forehand what I can watch and also what I don't. Been growing up with them since I was a little kid. They were jokes then and nowadays they're still but also in a grown up way. It's mad to see how each Sidemen developed in it's own way. Like everybody has a sick transformation if you compare them in the beginning. It's also interesting to see how they deal with keeping it fun for themselves and also the watchers. I think that's one of the harderst things to go with over the years, also with that younger fan base that is growing with the day. Much of respect how they are still doing this. Love from Holland!
