This is a really nice video. Usually, game dev videos already start with the idea build, but you showed your process to come up with the idea. And explaining what you did, almost step by step (this isn't a tutorial after all) made the video even better. Keep up the good work mate!

@@samstevens2945 most colorblind people can see many many colors. If you imagine a cube, a colorblind person can see a slice of the cube like a square. They can see a LOT of colors, just not nearly as many. My vision is essentially shades of blue and yellow. The characters looked like 3 distinct colors to me. Blue, red (which I see as “dark yellow” or brown”) and green (which I see as yellow).

i would've added a "color-blind mode" that adds a different hat for each color, so you can play even without having to look at the colors specifically

Thanks, I’m really glad you like the video! Usually I only start recording clips to use in a video after I’ve finished the project, so a lot of the time I end up remaking parts of the game for footage, haha

That actually really looks like the one in Wii Play, Find Mii, I think. Especially them walking, increasing in population, and also the darkness. Also the increment and decrement of time for correct and wrong, respectively.

I knew the game earlier than i knew you

In the next update you should make them really slowly wander cause several times there were multiple hiding behind another. You could also spawn the outlaw first and make sure everything else is a certain distance away. Maybe the WANTED box should pop each time it changes, or get pulled off and another one gets added. (The decrease of the timer should be like 1-2 seconds, so it prevents spam, but currently its so annoying to miss and then hit them, and have to search again with to timer increase)

Hey! i love your channel. seriously, your videos are amazingly put together and way more entertaining than the usual game dev channels :D by the way i noticed you're using text in the video, this video is kinda old and you probably already switched but you should use TextMeshPro, it's way better perfomance-wise, and has a lot more features :p

Thanks! I usually just make sounds with my microphone or find free-to-use sounds on KZread depending on the rules of the jam. Sometimes I also use SFXR, which a great tool that can generate any retro sound you need :)

Regarding the color blind thing, the problem is usually distinguishing between shades of colors (depends on specific shades, contrast, brightness, etc.) It's (like 99% of the time) *not* seeing in grayscale.

how do you know the range of where the people can spawn bc some people got different resolutions?

you can chage the cursor in the player settings instead of making a sprite follow the cursor
