He reminds me of the secular professors I had in college teaching Old Testament. They laugh and chuckle at the stories in complete unbelief about the events. Although mostly accurate on the raw facts, they are all mythical stories to them. Unfortunately, guys like this are often more understandable about Bible truths than most preachers!

Israel and Hebrews won't be restored until the tribulation and the 144k are brought down and sealed by God. For now, it's the Church. Not Israel.

@@crforfreedom7407 The curse is for idolatry, and Christianity is idolatrous to worship a messiah figure. So, Israel Jews and Christians (Lost Ten Tribes) both are under the curse. Please read Genesis 22 honestly without a Christian bias. It was for Abraham to have multitudes of descendants through Isaac. The NT mistranslates the promise given to Abraham to push a Jesus agenda. It contradicts the Tenach in many respects. This should concern you.

Interesting. When gypsies first turned up in Europe they sometimes claimed they were a Lost Tribe. Indeed, an Israeli researcher just a few years back said they were the lost tribe of Simeon. At other times they claimed to be descended from Cain. The consensus among scholars seemed to be that they were making up whatever excuse they thought would play with the Christians.

@@lindabrooks6405 I'm aware of the theological heresy, sure others a thousand years ago also were. And there's nothing but speculation that Ham's son was cursed for sexual misconduct. On most readings Noah woke up with a hangover and would have cursed Ham for making a song and dance about his state of undress, but couldnt because God had already blessed Ham, so cursed his son instead.

I really enjoyed this candid lesson. My only question is, why would a Map titled, “A New Accurate Map of Negroland and the adjacent counties also Guinea..”, show Nigeria (mentioned in your talk) as being the “Kingdom of Juda or Whidah, Slave Coast”? Why would Europeans title a place after fictional characters? My other question, now that I think about it is; why would present day Zionist Jews have the Support of America and Britain in the land of Judah, present day Israel, if there were never a people allotted that land? That question has several other questions that could come about if we were freely speaking without penalty. Well, in the past was possible to say something so silly and sell books. But now we have a huge DNA sample from the middle east and the entire eurasia really. Any tiny percentage of DNA originated in that ancient israeli population would be indentified. This is not true. The dominat DNA in europe come from the indo european steppe tribes from Russia 4 thousand years ago mixed with early european famers.. Ancient Israel DNA has NOTHING to do do with any european, asian or african nation. The ancient israelis were very similar to other middle eastern peoples though.

Pretty fantastic video, would like to see other biblical videos about other tribes, including the relationship between moses and the kenites and the kenite hypothesis. Also, you said much of the biblical writings were done during the reign of king Josiah, but how old do you think some of these stories or characters might have been, including abraham? were there any fragmentary texts floating around in those cultures. Did the tribes all have different canaanite gods? similar to how every sumerian city had its own patron deity?

What Kenite hypothesis? There were Cain's descendants the Kenites, as well as Smiths/Kenites. Moses never had any relationship with the former and I don't see any reason for creating a hypothesis regarding Smiths. There would be no point to keeping the Israelites separate from the Canaanites, while at the same time allowing them to mingle with Cain's descendants. Both groups were corrupted for the same reasons.

It's a little unfair to assume the names of the patriarchs are mythical characters to explain history, or that the time of Josiah was the first time these things were written down. How often throughout history are books/scrolls burned and hunted down in an attempt to erase the identity of the conquered people? Just because we don't have the physical copies doesn't mean it's necessarily proof it hadn't existed prior to the dates of what we have available to us. It's more plausible to understand that the full truth has been hidden on purpose by the winners of war throughout time. Nevertheless, it seems highly unlikely that such a huge majority of people over the entire course of history would consider Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and so forth, as genealogy to be identified so strongly with if they were just some made up characters to tell a story. Not having the mental capacity to understand something doesn't make it a myth.

they had oral history, which is pretty accurate and not fictionalized. But they were pretty good at repeating it. today we are always digging up proofs of the Bible story because it is a history book, not fictionalized. This guy in the video is making up his own opinions and is not very reliable.

Nov. ‘23. Jesus believers accept the Bible we have today is God’s Word for us, that He intended us to have. The Bible is pretty clear when it’s a parable (myth) and when it’s historical. He glossed over the hundreds of years of recorded Israel and Judah kings where they fought each other. These are not mythical characters. This leads to claims that Noah, and Adam and Eve are mythical as well…a slippery slope. I will stop short of a claim that I know who the descendants of 10 tribe Israel are (God declared that we wouldn’t be capable of narrowing that down by His own decree) but considering tiny Israel of today as the representation of all Israel would make God’s promise to Abraham a joke, which it surely is not (descendants numbered as the sands of the sea). I believe we must accept that God does not intend for us to know this, as well as not know the day or the hour. But as for me, the history of the Bible is important to validate the need for Christ to come, live a sinless life, die and be resurrected to reconcile His fallen creation to Him. I will not discount or discredit the Word.

You think your theory is more plausible? Obviously you’ve never played broken telephone. We can trace how oral traditions evolved during periods where records were better kept, then we can reasonably project that backwards in time to earlier time periods. On top of that, why do you assume that people living in the Bronze Age ancient near east were interested in preserving a historical account as we would understand it? The notion of history didn’t even exist. Every civilization from that time relied on myths to explain their own origins and the Canaanites who became the Israelites are no different.

the tradition that the Beta Israel of Ethiopia are bnai dan is not a self identification, but rather a very old identification from outside jewish observers. It was revived among the haredim to sell them on a mass migration (operation solomon) at a point the ethiopian community was facing a particularly virulent persecution in ethiopia. @1:29:00 Marano is a derogatory term for a jew who was forcibly converted during the spanish inquisition but kept Judaism in secret. You can for instance find very old statues of mary that have a mezuzah hidden in the feet. While there is no evidence Columbus was, his outward journey was delayed due to the expulsion order. These days we use the term Bnai Anusim (children of the coerced ones) to refer to them and their descendents. of possible note here, the movie The Jazz Singer featured prominantly the Kol Nidre service for Yom Kippur (commonly viewed as the most sacred of all services throughout the jewisih year). It gets it's name from a prayer (chanted by Neil Diamond) said in the presence of three adult men holding a sefer torah renouncing all vows made in the coming year. That service was composed for the bnai anusim (many of which returned to normative judaism after immigrating to the netherlands).

@@jsonitsac that's really questionable from a historical perspective. It's a lot to get into here, but globally Jewish communities develop different traditions based on the surrounding culture. For instance south India has had a Jewish community since the second temple period. They traditionally don't eat beef, wear clothing nearly identical to the surrounding community, etc. An extra holiday specific to the community is really not unheard of either. As a former hasid, it was not uncommon to celebrate prior rebbe's birthdays even after centuries. The chabad sect has a holiday celebrating when they were able to retrieve the rebbe's library from the soviet union. Ethiopian Jewry practices a form of Judaism known as Haymanot, just as I'm Ashkenazi, and my cousins are Mizrachi. While commonly used as ethnic markers all of the above include subtle differences in practice, understanding of halacha, etc.

@@anopinion3469 it's from the old Spanish for little pig. The term was seen as derogatory at the time. Many of these individuals later escaped to Portugal, the Netherlands (at the time a Spanish possession but there was a greater degree of religious freedom there), and the Ottoman empire. They generally publicly returned to Judaism upon immigration. The term Anusim (and bnai anusim for their descendants) was used in the original kol nidre prayers referenced above. It's also a Jewish legal term positing that they are free from guilt according to Jewish Religious Law. Portugal later, with pressure from Spain, forcibly converted all jews without the option of leaving (a few did quietly immigrate to the Portuguese colonies in Southern India and quietly returned to Judaism and mixed with the local community which had existed from the second temple period). Interestingly several very publicly returned when refugees from Germany and France showed up during WWII. It's not a common term used anymore, nor was it commonly used by jews or the anusim in the past. Last names really are a separate issue as they were only developing at the time. There are a few such as Cordova/Cordoba and halevi that are known to be of at least possible Jewish origin, but again the vast majority of people in Spain (Jewish and non) would not have had petronymics at the time. I don't know of any that specifically see the last names as derogatory, but some who have converted to normative Judaism have taken specifically hebrew last names (as part of a larger trend among worldwide Jewry). Most who have done so have immigrated to Israel. Of note recently the current king of Spain has apologized for the role of his ancestors in the inquisition and has granted citizenship rights to those who can prove their ancestors left as a result. A nearly impossible task granted but a nice gesture.

I think the most important part is that around 90+% of the peasants, workers, and whatnot of the 10 "lost" tribes never left during the Assyrian exile - only the elites claiming noble heredity. All of the regular people stayed, and were later called Samaritans. And note here that before the Assyrian conquest, Jerusalem was a backwater hill town. What makes that interesting is that when Judah's Jews came back from Babylonian exile, the Samaritans thought they came back as heretics who'd been corrupted by Babylonian religion. Samaritans had always considered Mount Gerizim as the holy place of their religion, long before Jerusalem built their temple in the backwater nation to their south. This heated schism is why the Parable of the Good Samaritan had so much weight back then - because Samaritans and Jews grew to hate each other. It would be like Soviets making a folk tale during the Cold War of "the Good American" who didn't act like a capitalist pig-dog. But it holds even more implications, because Samaritans weren't dispersed by the Romans after the Jewish rebellion. Many stayed, and most later converted to Christianity for a long time and later Islam. A modern Israeli Prime Minister went on to claim that most of the "Palestinians" in the area still had old Samaritan family names.

Your understanding of the Samaritan Is not accurate. If you read the book of Ezra and Nehemiah you will see how the Samaritan came to be they are a mixture of jews and Assyriaian that is why the jews and the Samaritan did not get along. But they were never the first settlers in the land of Israel.

Definitely a fun discussion I love your light hearted, matter of fact, approach to the stories. Without judgment… Maybe a chuckle or two… But your approach is very refreshing. It was a good summary of things that I have learned over the years. Though I am not from an LDS background, I had heard of the LDS, the worldwide Church of God/Armstrong, the Africans, the British, etc. explanations of the lost tribes. I felt like yours was a good summary of “beliefs” that are out there, but I have heard some recent serious scholarly work on this area, which is pretty fascinating in itself. I could type until my fingers bleed on this months old thread. So many passive, almost naive, comments that want answers. Britain, and all of Europe have quite a heritage in this regard. Ethenology, Paleontology, Heraldry, etc... Many common practices inside institutions throughout Europe have an Israelite identity in them. Hagar was said to have left twice. Once when Ismael was a baby, Abraham conscience bothered him and he sent a servant to bring Hagar back to the house 🏠. Isaac was not born yet! Hagar left again when Ismael was 14 years old. Ismael and his mother was thrown out because he was mocking Isaac. I believe Isaac had down syndrome. no they are not the only ones. some of the lost tribes were exiled further north by the assyrians , and traveled up into and thru eastern europe and central asia. Pashtuns and many europeans are thier descendants. Others were sent to settlements in the other coasts of the Mediterranean, and parts of the aegean.

It's not really fair to say that Jacob "stole" the blessing when Esau sold his birthrite for porridge. Esau did not have a desire to inherit the promise Yah made with Isaac. But Jacob did feel the need to deceive his father, encouraged by his mother. Clearly it was Yah's Will.

The present day Israelis Who call themselves Jews ( remember that Jews are descended from the tribe of Judah of the southern tribe ) are not from the tribe of Judah. They originated from the Russian steppes and spread throughout Europe. They descended from Jahpeth and NOT from Shem and therefore they are truly Europeans. The Israelis of today ARE STRANGERS to Israel and not the original inhabitants of that area. The Southern tribes migrated to west Africa and later in history, were brought to the Americas as slaves ( they were called negroes in history ). The Northern tribe who were taken by the Assyrians were brought to Mesopotamia and later stayed in that area until now, they could be Kurdish. Some of them migrated to the Land of the Isles in the east, the mountain of Sephar, and the land of Ophir ( Philippines ) and settled there. There were 2 Sheba's in history: one from Ham and the other one from Shem. The Queen of Sheba settled in the land of Ophir and visited King Solomon and brought with her the gold of Ophir, precious stones, etc. This queen never settled in Arabia and this is the real Sheba of history that visited Solomon. The other Sheba is descended from Cush and her right leg is short and was limping. People who descended from Shem ( Asians including the Hebrews )are brown to very, very dark brown . Jahpeth ( Europeans ) is white and Ham is black. The Hebrews never migrated to Europe but stayed in Asia all along and west Africa who became slaves of the new world.

that's already debunked. many levites are among them and all levites/ cohens worldwide have the same dna, it's cohen dna ( priest) that they match up with, and that proves they are descended from one or more israelite tribe. You are full of crap also about appearance of the people, you are repeating nothing but falsehoods. There is a lot of evidence and history that debunks most all of what you are spouting.

Ismael did not get “the same blessing” as Isaac. Though he was blessed with 12 sons, those sons are not of the chosen which are the 12 TRIBES Yahova blessed through Jacob who became Israel. 😊

Those tribes are not lost. The Creator God knows exactly where they are.

Wow! Just dismissing the sons of Israel as mythic figures. It's amazing that something thought up like the big bang theory gets more credence today compared to something written like Scripture. You could've just said you have no clue what the lost ten tribes are or where they are instead of making a long video about nothing.

I found this to be an extremely disappointing waste of time. The lost tribes are a very real thing and we have watched the return of two lost tribes to Israel. The one I have watched with interest are the Ethiopian Jews. They practiced the 614 Mosaic Laws and the Rabbinic community found the claim of their ties to Judaism to be solid and they have been airlifted to Israel and awarded citizenship. This was a costly undertaking both in moving them and establishment in the Holyland. Your title was little more then click bate that offered opinion and false legends and false teaching from I various groups. My suggestion is that you clear your head of false teaching and take a look at the book that is a compilation of books that continues to come true and is used as a tool by archeologists to find lost city's in the middle east. Most of the prophecies have been fulfilled and look at the modern development of the union of Iraq and Russia. Two very different people both culturally and religiously it was foretold. I thought 50 years ago as a student that will never happen but it is today, 50yrs ago I thought the lost tribes stuff was a myth but then saw the preserved culture of this group in Ethiopia. Then I have followed the teaching of a few Rabbi that have done heavy lifting to find others. Not all will be practicing but will have historical evidence. Some I've seen from the old USSR with preserved Torah scrolls and synagogues that where not the ackenauzie jews that are mostly Caucasian. It appears your LDS and dissatisfied and disappointed in the false teaching of Joesph Smith. Again the prophecy of the New Testiment is clear about false teachers and the stuff he was able to passoff as truth back in his day is easily debunked today by a lay scholar of history. The old and new Testiment are real. There are lots of supporting historical documentation. Read the book of Revelation take your time and do it with a group of believers, the study on a weekly basis will take 2 or 3 years. Read a few verses discuss and research. View events that are current, use good interpretation by scholars that have a deep understanding of Greek from that time. Be wise and stay away from Greek to Latin to English. The translation needs to be from a group of dedicated scholars that understand the Greek of that period of history. Test their documentation, I will not suggest one scholar or group of scholars over another. Please by all means stop speaking from a position of authority that you obviously do not have a command of. You have some good ideas and have some good thoughts but you have been wildly mislead and have jumped from d to p and missed a lot in-between. I will pray God reveals truths to you that you can then teach from Authority. The Jewish Christopher Columbus, there is a school of thought due to the inquisition of the Jews in Spain that this Italian born Jew was looking for a place of resettlement for European Jews. He was not open about his Jewish background had he been the anti-Semitic King and Queen of Spain would not have funded him and perhaps turned him over to the inquisition. No writings have been found but there is little evidence to support he was ever born. Perhaps something will turn up under a old stairway or in a wall.
