The Dodgers actually made moves just for this moment. They lined up contracts to expire this season and let good plyrs like Seager and Trea Turner walk just to be in this position to go all in this offseason. And contrary to popular belief, the 2023 season was supposed to be a bridge year with no World Series expectations. They just over-achieved with 100 wins, which was a miracle considering all their injuries and horrible rotation.
