According to Japanese media, it's Dodger's tradition to let a family member throw the first pitch on the player's bobblehead night but Shohei and Mamiko discussed it and preferred that the opportunity be given to a kid who loves baseball but doesn't have much of an opportunity to watch the game live like Albert. Kudos to the Ohtanis for thinking bigger.❤

Shohei Ohtani is the GOAT. Not only is he arguably the greatest player of all time, but he's the most humble, and most giving and caring player to add to is. He's never acted or believed he's above the game, or deserved anything more, he just works hard and always gives back. He's the Greatest Of All Time, hands down, no second thoughts. The guy is a role model everyone should look up to.

It was the Shohey's bobblehead night. Usually, the player's family throws the first pitch, thus Shohey's wife was scheduled to throw. But, Shohey and his wife decided to give up the opportunity for the kid. It's super nice kindness, but no surprise as the way of the Ohtani family.

Fun fact, the Dodgers initially asked Ohtani if his wife could throw the first pitch for the game, it’s Ohtani’s day after all. Instead, Ohtani felt that this opportunity should go to someone else especially some kid who hopes for the dream in baseball. So he rejected putting his wife in field. It shows how caring and thoughtful Ohtani truly is. The city and the team deserve the man.

How the media can paint him as a degenerate gambler shows their motivation and we should never forget that. The truth has nothing to do with it sometimes, they'll blow anyone up just to tear them down cuz either way they get clicks and views.

backside story - Dodgers asked Ohtani if his newlywed wife wants to do a first pitch - then his wife said there must be someone who really deserves to do it - especially a child - then they found this boy. So, yeah, Ohtani and his wife are awesome. I think Ohtani donated gloves to all the elementary schools in Japan. I mean, EVERY ONE OF THEM to give them a dream. BTW, his mom is still working part-time at a local supermarket making like 7 dollar an hour because she believes in it. Righteousness.
