Does anyone else ever think as they listen to this, that if so many of the people with anger, hurt and disappointment in this world who channel all their energy into wrong and destructive things, listened to this, that the thing that underpins us all - to love and be loved - would be revealed to them, more than any therapist or self-help book could achieve, and they might actually feel some healing. I haven’t articulated it so well here (as I find it hard to do so) but I feel this quite strongly. So many people are looking for fundamental love and acceptance and when I hear this, it just completely envelops me.

I used to teach in High School (Indonesia). I once proposed to my principal that the students who were problematic be sent to the choir practice for the whole year. Although some didn't change their ways after the project, most were reported to have demonstrated at least a slight change of behavior. And to some of them, it really had a lasting impact. That was probably one of the hallmarks of my entire life.. I was inspired by the movie Les Choristes

Your articulation is fine! I use thiis piece daily as a blessing for myself, on awakening. Music, song is one of the sweetest, most powerful gift from God. It is a fast channel to our spiritual self and the other side of life. (Btw, I used to ask that question about John Rutter, then I heard he was recognized for his great work with some title. Must seek that out.)

When I was a freshman in college I had orchestra practice in the same room that the choir rehearsed. We were always there early because there was always a rush to set up. The choir always ended with this song. It was my first introduction to choral music. The first time I heard them sing it I thought that's what heaven must sound like. It still moves my heart to hear it.

Jesus loves you
Me and my choir sang this on the funeral of our choir's master in march this year.
I also cannot fathom out why a sportsperson with a paltry 5-10 year career can be knighted for winning a medal, while this national (and international) treasure still waits in the wings ............... a sad indictment on the world's priorities.
Praise the lord!
Simply gorgeous! That many voices, this is just incredibly powerful!
Perfect
My daughter had this sung at her wedding ❤
so beautifully and movingly sung
Anche Il coro degli angeli per una volta si è fermato ed ha ascoltato questo canto del grande Maestro RUTTER. Magnifico.....
Magnificent
just beautiful
ABSOLUTE PERFECTION! Amen!
John, thank you.. the Playlist was a real Worship Winner with all. Blessings!
Soothing. Uplifting. Reassuring.
You're very good and Rutter is really brilliant. My choir sang Candlelight Carol during one of our last performances using a new arrangement. Write this in the search: you will surely like it. Corale Novarmonia - Candlelight Carol (J. Rutter)
I will sing this song the next 5th September in a wedding Mass
Beautiful. I know there is the older composition. It has its place as well. But this is just beautiful; just beautiful!
Ian Lord Blessings you know Keep You
G'd bless y'all. Regards from Brazil.
