I visited Russia, Moscow, St Petersburg. Sadly when I visited St Basil's, it was closed. I never knew it was so beautiful inside! So sad. I have to go back and see it again, with this music in my ears. Russia is a grand place, grander than any other country I have visited. The architecture is so magnificent and gilded. Every church is a jewel. The food is excellent, and people so talented. There is a grandeur to Russia that must be seen. The best literature, music, ballet, sports, architecture, crafts - all of the highest caliber. I have seen greater art pieces in Russian museums than any other in Europe. The subways are Art Deco masterpieces. There is a magnificence in the country that is never shown on TV, we only hear about the ugly politics. Visit Russia. The Hermitage museum takes a week of visiting alone. This music, like everything Tchaikovsky has done, is sublime. Salutations from California, USA.

@@marclayne9261 Lucifer was a talented musician though. We have to keep this in mind. Music is used as a powerful motivation tool during military parade or before a battle too. It is directed to the soul & appeals to the emotion ; it sounds good to the ear and stirs you up. People can be soulishly motivated through their passions to give a large offering ; but that doesn't need to be done in them. That's why it is necessary to be able to discern between the spirit (pneuma in Greek) and the soul (psuche in Greek). Music doesn't feed the spirit ; the Word of God does. Peace only comes by hearing the word of God and applying it into our personal experience.

In 1989, on a visit to Moscow, a friend asked me why I love Tchaikovsky so much when there are so many great Russian composers. I was embarrassed to tell her the truth, that his music, especially his No. 6, the Pathetique, is celestial to me. When I hear the music he heard in his soul when he wrote it, I believe he has been touched by the Divine; his music does just that to me. This piece and Samuel Barber’s Adaggio for Strings (made popular in the film, Platoon) are the most ethereal compositions I know. Their choral parts sound just like I imagine angels sound when they gaze upon the face of a newborn human child.

Tchaikovsky had to have been influenced by something divine when composing this perfect art. This music has touched me on a level I've never felt before. I sat frozen in awe with goosebumps, yet feeling warm and at peace, with all of my stresses melting away and tears of peace forming in my eyes. I feel redeemed and forgiven for my tainted life. The Holy Spirit has truly touched me tonight. Thank you, Tchaikovsky, and thank you Lord.

They have many challenges I didn’t face in my youth. I listen to all genres of music, from Rap to choral. In every genre, there is both extraordinary beauty and junk. Tchaikovsky was completely visionary in this absolute masterpiece. An orchestra of voices ala acapello with incredible range and each voice with perfect tone and without error. Perfection is a prerequisite to the singing of this song because it represents the heavenly host singing to a perfect God ! Perfect in all of his ways. Maybe Tchaikovsky recieved this song from an angelic messenger or maybe he wrote down what he heard in Heaven. Was this the work of his spiritual mind, his heart or a spirit from Heaven ? Only God knows what this is but this is a purely musical phenomenon with many mysteries attached. Thank you for bringing this wonderful labor of love to our ears. May God bless you and those you love ! A friend always ! I love you and you are loved in Heaven because Jesus loved you first !

Особо торжественная часть богослужения, сидеть при этом по уставу не разрешается.

I love this hymn from the Russian Orthodox Divine Liturgy. It is so exquisite and one feels the presence of the cherubim, the seraphim and all the other angels.

This music does remind me again that we are all very much spiritual beings - beloved by the divine universal source - we all are souls with a divine sparkling in our hearts - if we are open hearted enough for it.♥

Extraordinary. I’ve always loved Tchaikovsky for his great tone poems, symphonies and concertos, but I had no idea he wrote music like this. It’s quite a revelation.

🤔Goosebumps immediately at the beginning of the first part. On "let's put off the care", the spirit captures and the breath freezes. The parade and exultation of the second movement and the ending have a slight enthusiastic overload that tears apart the inner state of emotion ... The performance is magnificent, although sensually different from the simpler, but still liturgical. However, the author so accurately expressed the incredible scale of the action on the one hand and the possibility of human involvement in perception on the other hand. That already in the first part you realize the solemnity of fear, the feeling of the abyss and the fragility of hope for reconciliation, not so much as an invited participant, but an outsider caught by surprise by the unfolded heavens..

I visited Moscow, St.Petersburg, and some monasteries and cloisters. I'm from Italy, so I visited several times cathedrals such as St.Peters. Well, the icons into Russians churches talk to me of faith and prayer and love. Sistine Chapel, or frescoes in Orvieto's duomo, for example, talk to me just of mastery of the painter
