In addition to the step-by-step illustrations, I really appreciate your explanations of _why_ you're doing something and what the intended effect is. It's like being in art class. Thanks so much for these.

I watched this last night and I was skeptical. I was like “sure, a fantastic pro mua can do contouring under foundation but if I did that it would look terrible.” Well I tried it this morning and I am amazed! It turned out so soft and natural, not harsh like when I contour over my foundation. After applying the foundation I picked up a bit more contour for a little more cheekbone definition. 10/10. Thank you!

Thanks for not only showing us *how* but explaining *WHY.* A lot of people don't say why they are applying makeup to this or that, or what effect they are trying to achieve. You explained everything, in such a caring, honest and detailed way. Oh this is helpful! I had to hit pause and just take a moment. Once you hit the contour from the eye to temple to minimize the puff. I had been doing this and hoping like heck that I was right in doing so and not making my face look weird. When a professional does this with his explanation I was finally relaxed and quite happy I had done this with that exact intention. Back to the film!

Reminds me of my Kevyn Aucoin makeup books. He was a true master when it came to makeup.❤️

I have been watching your videos for 9 years. You are the best and most professional.

First of all - I’m always amazed at the artistry - also, I realize that some of my old makeup ways, before KZread taught me how complicated makeup is ;), were not wrong but intuitive to my own face - I try to remember these videos, but forget most of it… but I always remember one thing that sticks in my head because it speaks to something unique about my face that I’ve either ignored or didn’t like This time it’s “beauty mark” - I never really thought of myself as “One that could carry off a beauty mark” - My skin already has lots of light freckles that aren’t perfectly beautifully placed. but I realize that I actually have a couple large freckles that stand out. They’re not perfect circles but they are a bit unique compared to the general freckles I have - they always just dull out grey-ish under makeup - but NOW I realize… I could color them back in slightly with a light brown and they might look cool! MIND BLOWN!!! Thanks Wayne Goss!

I love this! I especially like the two shades of foundation. The end result looks natural and very good.. I always find after I put on my foundation it looks like we’re wearing a mask.. this is much better. I would love to see a video for tips on makeup/contouring with freckles. I have a hard time contouring because with freckles it ends up blending together and looking muddy (especially on the nose 😅).

Hi, Mister Wayne... I just discovered your channel, and the 1st video I watched is this one about contouring. 😊 absolutely amazing and correct applied. I am laik and do my own make-up since I discovered make-up ( a long time ago ,,,,, at least 45 years ), and I try to do the same as you do. What I did 45 yrs ago not suit me now when I am 60, so instead of pointing out, now i need to " cover up. " ...😅 will continue to check and watch all your tutorials, I really love it.

As an older woman I have issue with that highlighter in the inner covers of my eyes. It is bad to cake up on me. When I put powder under the eye it makes it all worse. UGH.

I have the same issues, I have noticed a difference using Estée Lauder futurist foundation but I only use it as a concealer because it’s radiant but doesn’t set into wrinkles . I would highly recommend that you go to the counter and ask for several samples to find the right shade . Don’t match your skin - instead I would go for a slightly warmer tone than your whole face since we tend to have dark veins visible under our eyes too . I feel like I do better with more oranges than yellow

I wear the lightest shade of L'Oreal true match. Would the next lightest shade automatically be the next darker shade they sell or might the next darker one they sell be a quarter shade or something? I hope you know what I mean. Can't think of another way to say it. I have a difficult time when it comes to shades of a color.
