the best in identifying the most effective trajectory at maximum speed, in anticipating the limiter, in dosing the gas, in downshifting two gears, in knowing how to do it even with the bike leaning, and the consequent sensitivity in opening when exiting. The Perfection. Never forgotten.
Aah, the immortal Joey Dunlop. The wizard. The master. The legend. The quiet genius. Never forgotten.
Never will we see another Joey Dunlop. #3 ❤️👍
1st lap was fast until I seen the 2nd lap once he'd the tires warmed, that is a incredible video, why would anyone hit the dislike, this video is perfect, the sound, the sensation of speed, joey was the master of racing and life.

MY BELLY FEELS BUTTERFLIES EVERY GEAR CHANGE. JOEY DUNLOP FOREVER
The knight of legends appears before you and takes his place at your shoulder for he knows you are his equal, As death shy's away, ever present but never quite as quick. The hero of the battlefield pushes the borders while all bow their heads in awe, Addiction to speed dodging death at every corner. Never to be forgotten.
A true 'Master At Work'. Never to be forgotten, but so sadly missed. Thanks for the brilliant memories Joey.
I really appreciate Joe Dunlop because he was one of those drivers who knew every part of the motorcycle. Apart from being a great driver, he was also very good mechanic. Joey is a knight of our times, when I think about how many hours he spent on the machine, driving close to the limit and curbs, I realize that he was on the edge all the time... but he loved it and we love him.
So silky smooth, he made it look like a quick blow out down to his local shop to pick up some bread. A true master at work !!!!
The guy was something special indeed. So skilled inch perfect. There's only 1 Joey Dunlop! R.I.P 🏁🏍💨🕊
The master at work. So glad I got to watch the legend in person at a few early 80s nw200s and Tandragee 100s etc.
Joey Dunlop really was the best for that era. He just attacked every race with 100% commitment and understood every corner to perfection. There will be many legends like him to follow though his legacy will stretch on forever. A unique, humble individual that inspired many people around the world to follow their dreams.
Poetry in motion my hero for many years... R.I.P. Big Man..
What a man, unbelievable ambassador for the whole country and for motorcycle racing. We will never see another joey dunlop. Made us all proud . Rip wee man
The best there ever was. Smooth down to the very last downshift. He was a serious pilot
That second lap🔥🔥! Joey is the GOAT🏍!

Impresionante demostracion...Cuando se juntan un piloto y un mecanico excepcionales el resultado no puede ser otro...El Rey eterno de las Road Races...
It never ages watching a genius at work.

I'm not a bike fan, but Joey was different class in every way. He made all those trips to orphanages in Romania with food and supplies. Yet he never attempted to publicise his work. My favourite story is told by an orphanage worker. Joey had arrived with the supplies and was feasting with the children. They were eating corned beef and baked beans. Joey was probably happier there than in a five star restraunt. Joey Dunlop, a fantastic biker, an even better human being.

Joey is my hero.... An absolute legend....
Sounds like an RC30! What a perfect noise delivered by a legend!
Joey Dunlop não só competia Joey Dunlop dava aula de motociclismo
Simply wonderful - I grew up watching Joey and his relative-racers and rivals in the 70s. He really wound it up on the second lap of this video. Surprised though about the on-off throttle through one of the Quarry Bends (1 of the right-handers) - guess he was simply giving it everything and having to back off at times!
So precise and clean...
Le premier tour est rapide, le second tour est du Joey Dunlop pur sang.
A perfectionist at work👏👏
Was at Portrush the day Big Frank fatally crashed. Lying in bed on a Friday night in the Fairhill I could hear the three boys testing there bikes up and down the Bushside road. Alwayd proud to have seen and supported the Armoy Armada gone but never forgotten.

Hi good info there! Cool to have been around there then? On the other hand probably not so much? I've heard so much about those sneaky test sessions on "The Bushside Road" but never saw it detailed as to where that actually was. The only road that seems to parallel the Bush river is the B15 Gracehill Road? Is there a "Bushside rd"? Or is that just a local name for the road alongside the Bush? Do you know the layout of their route? Seen some recent footage of Jim standing by a road up in the hills somewhere talking about the seruptitious testing runs. Any ideas?
Really great footage that. Joey could show a few modern racers a thing or too - especially on how to downshift. None of this hoofing it down through the box and letting a slipper clutch sort out the mess.

KING JOEY!
Smooth as silk with the precision of a surgeon, that was Joey! Poetry in motion👌🏼Sadly missed but never forgotten
And for this legendary bastard this kind of pace was relaxing.
The perfect lap once the tyres are warmed up , I miss Joey !
Que bonita suena esa moto.. Una delicia para los oídos.. Pilotada por el mejor de todos los tiempos...
joey dunlop the king of road racing .👍honda
Got a shock at 1:20, thought it was oncoming traffic, the way the light hit the screen))
He makes it look so easy. When the bike is at 14,000 revs it sounds more like 5000 making it seem effortless to the engine.
Mesmerised..... Worked for some guys who raced roads.... Brindley's...... Much respect
He would thrash the big bikes and win then jump on to a delicate lightweight and win... an unreal talent !
I'm very lucky to still own my dad's RC45.. 😍

what a bike and pilot combination

What the heck of a sound is that? jesus, the engine peeling the limiter at 14.500 is just a sinphony.
Mr Dunlop was a better man than motorcycle racer
Winner
I bet he didn't even look at the rev clock for the gear he know when to gear up by the engine sound 👍👍
Compare this practice run on camera to the practice run on camera in 1986 that Roger Marshal does and you will see why Joey was so good.
I have riden bikes all my life and still wonder how he and they do this How the hell do you know when to start breaking yes i know land marks etc but just look at the god dam speed ????Also just look how quickly the throttle is opened after each bend joey you are truely my hero and always will be R.I.P. fella.............

As much as I respect John McGuiness i sincerely hope he never beats Joey's TT wins record. Joey Dunlop is the IOMTT.

And Joey pulled a hat trick at the IOMTT two weeks before he died aged 48! No telling how many more wins Joey would have racked up had he lived. He sure as hell didn't show any signs of slowing down!
