Some people are too good for this world. Joey was without doubt one of those. A one in a million, never to be forgotten 🙏🏼

Joey was unique. He went to the very top of his sport, but remained totally humble. Even with his humanitarian work he sought no publicity for himself. He just wanted to help the poorest children. There are many stories about Joey the motorcycle legend, but my favourite is about the orphanages. One of the helpers told of Joey unloading the aid from the van and sitting eating corn beef and baked beans with the orphans. He was probably happier there than on the TT podium. We shall never see his likes again.

Joey Dunlop is, and will always be, an icon of our isolated sport, and a fantastic ambassador for humanity and kindness from our beloved land of the North of Ireland. Not many men can reduce me to tears with their spirit and kindness, but Joey does, still.

This was very good to see... Being a motorcyclist myself the loss of this great racer after all those years racing was unbelievable shocking and very sad..... But what cuts deepest is the loss of this extremely successful but humble helpful caring Man..... People like Joey are few and far between everybody loved him and that makes it heartbreaking R.I.P. Joey Dunlop !

I have used Joey as an example many many times when i see these so called profesional sports men/women get involved in polotics He was a true saint thats for sure a one off Its a pity these over paid individuals dont follow his lead !!! Instead they move abroad to avoid paying tax and then try to show how concerned they are about anything that's in vouge !! at the time. Not only was he a true gentleman he was bloody good at what he did..Motor sport lost a true hero when Joey left us . If I get to be half the person he was I will be pleased with what i have acheived in life !! What you are doing is good keep it up Well done to you all..

Well clearly I’m “hardcore” then. I’m not sure what your KZread goal is, but good luck with it. I think it’s shameful that we live in a country where people are starving and homeless, even more shameful that some of our elderly are lonely and have little or no contact with anybody - and there’s no way to find one and ‘adopt’ them; especially the last of the veterans of WW2 whose stories are captivating. Subbed to help you on your journey.

Thanks a lot. Right now I'm small fry and just enjoying the stories of extraordinary people like Joey. But the aim of the Chanel, is probably mostly to inspire, and give people with ambition a business model or idea to copy. Aside from that I also like making random things, I made a bench in my second video, and the next one I'm making a helicopter LOL (random)!

There has been many good road racers. Among the very best was David Jefferies Robert Dunlop Richard Britton and the like to name but a few. But there is no doubt Joey Dunlop was the king and the greatest that ever lived. He was able to beat R1's at Dundrod in 1999 on his past sale by date RC45. He knew what he was doing. RIP Joey we will never see his like again.

There have been many successful racers as you say, but what really set him apart was his humble nature. He never shouted his own praises, which is why we'll shout them for him even 20 years after his death. Thanks for the comment!

I suppose this was made with good intentions, but need to be very careful when delving into Politics. The issue of Romanian Orphanages is basically nonsense & involves International Banking etc etc, a complex subject ~ lust look at the circumstances of Coachescus "execution". If you haven't at least been to rural Romania then you have no idea ~ I've spent time there, great Country & smashing people

  • @TheTortoise

This was not political in anyway, Joey and the Trussel Trust helped because there was a real need. I wasn't really looking into whether banking caused the issue or not, but I have no doubt there was an issue! In any case Joey couldn't of been less political about it, he mostly did it in secret.
