I had an Aura AFX slot car. There were a couple others like it some white one at least. Some of the first "Magnatraction" slot cars.

I remember the Can-Am series being a huge deal when I was a kid back in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s - in part because I had slot car models of many of the top cars from the likes of Chaparral, McLaren, Lola, Porsche, and of course the all black Shadow.

Wonderfully Wide World of Sports. The openers every episode. They showed all those crash and burn's from the guy skiing down the ramp to do a long jump but wiping out before he made it to the end of the ramp and sort of spilling over the end of the ramp. Oh man. Ow. There were can am cars rounding a corner cresting a hill. A real technical corner. Those can am cars. Real tiny cars

Didn’t need the cheesy kids’ to Style intro, the story is interesting enough.

How are there still old cars left in the humidity of isles of Britain. I know the warm Caribbean current keeps you from total salt roads in the winter but even in SE Texas the humidity creeps in buildings without full on climate control.
