Wouldn’t it be funny if Boudreau answered the question on who the next coach of Leafs should be by saying, “Me!”. Listen, I love Gabby… but the Leafs should get Berube as their bench boss. It may not make a difference given the ridiculous salary structure of the team (Yes Kyle… they can… and they did!!!)… but Berube would at least crush the country club atmosphere that is pervasive in that joke of a club. They are a bunch of spoiled brats, with no mental or physical toughness whatsoever, yet who think of themselves as “gods” :-). Look at Boston versus Florida game 2 today… did you see how Boston and Florida went at each other in the third period? Even Pastranak and Marchand got into the fighting. Could you imagine the core four engaging in that? They soft and thin skinned - Berube would change that culture.

if the Leafs ever got Quenneville?? they would win the cup for sure inside of 4 years..please please please, NO Quenneville..I prefer anybody but him for the Leafs next coach.. as an opposing fan them getting Q as coach?? is a scary thought

It must be nice to be Keefe, because he still gets PAID his salary even though he's going to get fired. This means he is being PAID for doing nothing. When normal employees get fired all they get is the pink slip and 2 weeks pay.

Sheldon keefe is a good guy man. The originization did this to take care of him and his family. It hurts to fire someone and move on, but it’s easier knowing they will be paid regardless !

Bruce Boudreau, or Todd McLennan looks like a good choice for the Leafs Head coach job. It's a gut wrenching scenario. However Mike Keenan is a good whipping Coach. He behaves like a John Tortollela type of coach

I am not sure he would take it. Dale takes no shit from anyone and that includes a GM or President. Not sure Toronto could handle that as he sure as hell will take no shit from players. That is why London is always outstanding in hockey and produces more product for the NHL than anywhere. I am a Londoner and know this man. They would be dam lucky to get him and Mitch and Taveras know him well having played in London.

Coaching is not the problem in Toronto. Entitled kids getting paid 11+ million a year to "be gods" is the problem. If they can somehow cut their locker room cancer in half, they'll probably make it out of the second round next season.

Keefe is a pretty good coach. No coach was winning with the current cap situation and character of their team. He will be fine. Unless legitimate roster changes are made and create cap space the next several years, the next coach won't win anything either

Rod Brindamour would be my number 1 choice to be the Leafs next coach! The Leafs should do everything they can to get him! Also get rid of Marner and Taveras.

The word on the street is Tronto is trying to get Don Cherry to coach the Leafs

How did he modify the game plan to allow the Core 4 to score? Why did he throw the 4th line out on ice when he didn't need? Yeah, the players didn't function as a team ... and who is responsible for that? The Coach.

Sutter would whip them into shape!!!

Gabby could do what he did in Vancouver with Boeser. Get careers back on track. Imagine a Boeser type improvement with Tavares and Marner and Reilly. They are not bad players. They're just lost. Look at the horrible job Keefe has done resurrecting careers. Barrie. Brodie. Toronto under Keefe is a place where careers come and die.

The next leaf coach will be Sheldon Keefe. To bring in another coach would be a downgrade. The coach is only as good as the players the GM gets for him. Fire the GM, he had all year to fix the defense and goaltending. After the core 4 and Reilly, all the other players are crap or should be retired.

Keefe all the way. first real shot at a run was this year and we got beat to a decent team in Boston and we also had key injuries to Woll and Willy. Mathews was out and we won without him so that wasn't a problem.

Berube has made it past the 2nd round ONCE, so instead of struggling to make it past the 1st you will struggle to make it pass the 2nd. Woodcroft 2/3 yrs has made the 3rd round. keep in mind the Devils are in for berube, i think his system is the reason why he got fired. Berube won a cup okay cool what has he done recently? Sullivan has 2 cups and he struggling.

His roster was decimated by the cap not going up. Plus blues would have won in 21 if Kadri didn't take out Bennington. In 20 COVID screwed them. They easily could have won 3 in a row

I would keep Sheldon. He actually got these guys for the first time to go like playoff hockey and 1 lousy goal in OT would have them still playing. The Leafs outplayed Boston in that series. Had they had Matthews and Nylander healthy for the whole series they would have won for sure.

Berube would toughen up the Leafs but spoiled glove throwing Marner, ear ring Matthews, would cry foul and he’d get fired. Leaf fans like soft coaches like Keefe. There’s no place for old time hockey in Toronto. Babcock and Don Cherry 2 prime examples. Where are they? Thats why Leafs will never will the Cup. Can you imagine guys like Eddy Shack, Tim Horton, the guys that won the cup in 1967 on the modern day Leafs? Leaf flakes would whine like babies 😭.

Berube wouldn’t work. He demands selflessness and two way responsible play. His teams gave up personal stats for the team. I don’t see Matthews or Marner or Willy willing to give an inch of their stats for the betterment of the team. In fact… Jordan Kyrou got Berube fired in STL. A spoiled expensive scoring forward that plays no defense, and is totally irresponsible and selfish.

So the cup winner in the group was gifted a goalie that got hot. Thats why they won. So take that year out of the equation then do the comparison. Keith has a better winning percent.
