A tale as old as time. Too little too late. You can’t go down 3-1 in a series and expect to win 3 straight. You gotta win consistently. Time for Tavares to retire, get rid of Marner and get McDavid. He is not resigning with Oilers. I can’t criticize the Coaching - he got us to the show yet again. This team struggled with injury and sickness. I honestly don’t think Toronto could have gotten by Florida and I don’t think Boston will either. Mathews has proven he is a superstar. Nylander is solid. The new youth are exciting and I think our Goaltending is finally decent. I believe the next two years are going to be phenomenal for my Beloved Maple Leafs! Go Leafs Go.

I love the optimism, I believe our team is on the up and up as well. Let Treliving make the right moves this year. Keefe has got to go though. He doesn't react quick enough to the nesscessary changes needed to be made.

yes exactly, classic leafs letting them score a shift after we're up a goal. if you'd offered me pregame that sammy would only let 1 in regulation, and not know what the leafs would score, i'd take that bet. they gotta score more... but i think woll saves that and we win 1-0... injured on that last play, woll, wowww

Lots of excuses with all the injuries. All in all Keefe will be back, minimal changes going forward. Pay Marner his 15M, and stick with these 4 figure skaters next year.... so close, lol. Dumass did a real great job and skipped town and is now doing it in Pitt. Maybe Keefe will jump ship and take Pitt to the Stanley Cup 🙂. And these Leafs need a nice long golf season in Muskoka to get ready for the same thing in 2024-2025. Believe, they can break through eventually.

Leafs dynamics changed for the better when they gave Domi a bigger role. He's a playoff type player.

Toronto very played well in 4 of the seven games. Boston allowed 2 goals off their own players and almost 3 which would've given Toronto a buzzer win in game seven. Swayman was very solid, as were Samsonov and Woll. Toronto has no reason to blame themselves. I'm a lifelong Bruin's fan and Toronto scares the hell out of me.

Anyone complaining about the playoff format ought to look at the standings. Top to bottom in the Eastern Conference it would have lined up exactly the same way for each series!

Same results, yes, probably played some of their best hockey, but as another coached said, they dug a deeper whole once again and some of the CORE players went AWOL MIA once again

@@grahamshereTavares is on the last year of his deal and getting older. probably have to eat the contract for now or maybe trade at the deadline for salary cap dump or to a contender loading up. He can still win faceoffs and drive to the net so has some playoffs value. He just can’t skate anymore. Marner IMO is the obvious choice to trade

That was a terrible defensive marking gap. Pasternak is a right winger. Generally, that is a left D-man's mark. This is good for the Leafs. I am glad they are not going further. They need to make some real changes to the roster. Now the new leafs GM has seen what this team is and what pieces to change. Start with Sammy and the D-CORE. It would be nice to see them get rid of the Tavares contract and add some top notch D man and a better goalie than Sammy. Joseph Woll is going to be an elite goalie if he can condition to avoid damaging injuries.

There appeared to be a lack of hustle, attention, or both there at the end. Was motivation not warranted in overtime in Gm 7? 😮

Cut loose D men who aren’t signed and bring in big youth Cade Webber and the other guy who’s 6’7. Play them if Reilly can play less that would be good. Winning a cup is not easy every other team is trying the same thing every year I felt good watching this team do what they did this year. Boston won’t go through Panthers I call 5 games if not a sweep by the panthers.

Matthews was good tonight though. Played playoff hockey, forecheck hard, won puck battles and got the puck to the net and even the assist. Marner, Reily and Domi are not playoff players. Marner and Domi won’t shoot the puck no matter what. If you’re not going to shoot you’re not going to go far in the playoffs.

He didn't help when a save was needed. Any good goalie would have stopped both of those goals. Do you think that would gone past Woll? I don't.

Prefer the AI version, but still, coaches job is to motivate players for every game, not just three…not good enough, time to change and bring someone players can respect, ultimately no effort for the first three games tells the story…

I agree Samsonov 100% should not be an NHL goalie, too many mental blocks and wtf was he doing on that last play? Sheldon Keefe is still a solid coach, he is rock solid . Trade Nylander get some hungry talent , Trade Nyander. Tavares, Mathew’s and the rest of the cast is solid. Brendan Shanahan , get rid, everyone else is solid.

This wasn’t on Coach Keefe. He’s done a great job. Not easy coaching a team where 4 guys own the payroll. Goaltending wasn’t an issue either. Our defence played like never before. Special teams was the difference maker and that’s probably because the team had different lineups due to missing our best scorers leading up to game time the entire series. They should run it back. We also discovered new gems on the team that will only get better.
