I have to say something to Yvonne. I lost my channels that I was subscribed to over a year ago and trying to find everyone again. I have been trying to get caught up with your channel. Oh my sweet Yvonne you have been through so much in the time I was away. First was your accident my heart broke. Changes with the barns, animals leaving to Canada. Weanlings moving on. Rein down sizing. Rising Stars health concerns. I recently watched the video with 4 of you out riding and the Queen doing fabulously and then the sudden lose. My heart is just so saddened by all the different events you have had to suffer. But with all this you still share us your beautiful smile. I am amazed with your strength and love you have for everything and everyone. I wish I could just give you a big hug and tell you, You are an amazing young woman. ❤

It would be so hard to pick a favorite video. I love all of the rides in the forest. I love seeing Rein, Bauke, the boys, Geertje, Rinske, Oda, Matilde, and all of the other friends, family, and workers at Stahl G and H. I loved the video of Geertje, Faya and Rinske surprising Yvonne when the money was raised to buy Uniek. And of course I love ALL the horses and ponies! So, I guess my favorite video is all of them!❤️❤️❤️❤️

I think Why do beautiful things have to come to an end. I found your channel just before Risey came and haven’t missed a video. Then I realized that life offers all things good and bad so we can appreciate life! We will miss Queen Uniek and think of here often but we love Yvonne and family and friends so please keep sharing your life for us, it is valuable to me and I’m sure to others. It makes me laugh, smile, and cry but it’s wonderful all the time!!

OMG, tears!!!! I live half a world away and I never thought I would be so invested in a YT channel. It still feels unreal that the Queen is no longer with us and the brood mares at Stal G have a new home. The one bright spot is Belle's birth and I hope we get more about her during these sad times.

But a big part of horse life is being able to evade danger and move freely. Horses do under handicap; and they reject it, unfortunately. A handicapped horse is seen as a weakness in a herd, therefore the handicapped horse is rejected.

@@my_quiet_riot I understand what you are saying. In the wild, handicaps are an issue. Have you ever watch the gal who has the Friesian Sanctuary in England? They all have handicaps of one type or another and none are rejected by the herd. Their survival is not dependent on all fit and healthy. It just becomes an issue in captivity if you can help that individual horse or not. Example, friend just paid big bucks to have a surgery on her horse for colic. It wasn’t nearly the same as Unieks situation and they could help with the surgery but wow was it expensive! Even if they could have done that for Uniek, the quality of life for her would still have been bleak and still lots of pain. You do what you can do till you can’t any longer.

@@my_quiet_riot Are you talking about the wobbler or the after effects of the surgery? You are confusing me now. Cause if it's the wobbler, there's no case that can be similar to him being in a bachelor herd at Stal H, none of the horses are able to tell that he has a weakness. The cue is visuals, horses are only able to tell weaknesses through patterns which you cannot with RS, only humans can discern the nuances in the difference of his gait as horses have a more systematic mind. RJ and Pieter probably could tell he had a weakness because of the pattern of stumbling, like I said we don't see that at Stal H. The mares defer to him when he bites them as they turn their rear to him so he can smell them, they also go to him to socialise or to court when they are in heat, the ones who pin their ears at him see him as a threat and he was bossing Spidey around when Spidey came into his pasture. All of which indicate they have no idea about his condition. There's no equal of him at Stal H, Mario is a colt and Spidey despite being older than Mario still exhibits colt-like behaviours, RS is the only one who acts like a stallion. Like I said, RS with Pieter and RJ, it was a different social setting/dynamic, that can't be replicated at Stal H. A mare herd is different, they are not playful, RS might make it worst for his condition if he tries to dominate them which is why it's an issue but it would not be from them detecting the condition, it would be the mares protecting the foals from the horse that could pose a danger to them. I'm not saying it's not dangerous to put him in a mare herd, I'm saying it's a different kind of danger that would have nothing to do with them detecting a "weakness" but rather more based on their herd dynamics. If you are talking about the surgery after effects, the stiffness of the neck is temporary as it is just part of the recovery process. Of course, he can't be put in a herd then.

@@stopthecap6913 you can watch KZread videos about wobblers surgery. There are ones of the actual surgery and also veterinarian lectures. The educational lectures are quite interesting. There are pros and cons of equine cervical surgery. Basically, the surgery uses the same implants that are like the ones used for human spinal fusion. There have been successes and not so good outcomes.

So sad to see them go but I'm glad to hear they are doing well. Prayers for Boss Rein, Yvonne,Risey, and Glendy... always. We miss Uniek but she will never be forgotten... the majestic horse that walked on air. She was definitely elegant!! God bless!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

But It's truly good to know that they are together and from all that you have said and shown about horses it does seem that being with other horses they know is a good thing. I am so happy to see the ponies doing well and that shaggy little man, Spidey, delights me every time. It's good to see that he and Risey seem to be recovering well and I'm sure by now it's not even a memory for them.

Goodbyes & new beginnings… to everything there is a season. Uniek & those other beauties who’ve gone to Canada will always be remembered here on this channel. I’ll always be grateful that Uniek was sold to Yvonne, fittingly with the help of their admirers of this channel. She was truly a special, “spirit” animal, intelligent & kind. Her loss is felt, not only at home, but around the world. Uniek was loved by Yvonne & well-cared for her entire life, including the most humane veterinary care through the end. Thinking & praying for Risie, thinking that ultimately he could go to an animal sanctuary for him live out his life. I looked on Google and saw that there a are number of sanctuaries nearby in Friesland. He has a good temper and good for kids to learn about horses. I hope you are looking into the info I sent to you earlier about trying Equine Craniosacral treatment as it does apply to his illness.

A while ago I was watching something on KZread, something quite fanciful but very uplifting, and this lady was doing a hypothetical "pets in heaven" thing. She was talking about this great horse that was prancing around in great beauty singing "I am the Lord's Horse, I am the Lord's Horse". My fiance watched it with me one evening. When I went crying into his study last Saturday night (I only found out at that time) and said "Queen Uniek's dead", he couldn't believe it at first; then couldn't believe I was so gutted; and then he said: "She's up there sweety; she's singing "I am the Lord's Horse; I am the Lord's Horse". Yes. That passing beautiful Queen. Maybe a Court horse of heaven, I'd hate to think of her being in a war! Even a heavenly one.

Guess we will have to watch out for Friesians at the Calgary Stampede parade. Maybe we will be looking at old friends!

There are no words that exist to describe the pain from losing a loved one, whether they walk on 2 legs or 4 legs. The joy you and your channel has given to the world is truly a blessing. Mine as well! I cry just looking at my neighbors herd from my kitchen window as all I see is Queen Uniek...they asked me yesterday if I was coming out to feed them apples and carrots ....I told them I will in a couple days...I'm a fixture over there but they already knew of Uniek's passing! They too are sending funds to help....

So much change. It's hard to take in. My favorite horses are in Canada. Beloved Uniek is in heavenly pastures. Life is about change but I don't have to like it. My thoughts are with all our friends in Friesland. I hope we will be able to enjoy the next generations. Yvonne's boys are always wonderful ❤️.

It is so hard to Fonda wonderful horse dedicated channel to watch. I love watching your wonderful work with your Friedan horses! I hope you will keep your channel going .We have a Friedan horse farm here in Maryland!

Agree. These are some emotionally challenging times for everyone involved in all the events that have happened.

Sad 😢 but know they are going to a beautiful home. Lovely horses...on to a huge adventure. So glad they travel together and will get to re-acquaint with their friends at a beautiful home in Canada. Familiar smells and whineys.

We all grew to love them and they will be missed😢

Gosh, I'll miss them all. Vicariously for a moment in time they were like my own. Thank God they are going to a good home and will continue to be the magnificent mares they are for years to come. If I could, I'd hang onto all of them, but there comes a time we have to let go for their good as well as our own. REIN, you have been a super man with all your horses and I know your sadness it mixed with sorrow and pride. You are a great horseman in every sense of the word. Thank you and all of Stag. G &H for letting so many of us share in loving your wonderful horses and all the people that work with you, ESPECIALLY our special Yvonne. God bless all of you.

Just for clarity, the Uniek who travelled to Canada, is _another_ young Uniek! 'Our' Uniek sadly 😥passed away last week, late on the evening of April 4 (read Community tab).

Bittersweet. I will miss those ladies.

While it is always difficult to say 'goodbye' to anyone I know those horses are loved where they are in Canada. I do miss Uniek but know in my heart what Yvonne had to do was the right thing. Yvonne is very brave. ♥♥♥

Yvonne hatte keine Wahl. Eine Magenruptur kommt leider plötzlich und endet fast immer tödlich. Durch puren Zufall wird diese Erkrankung selten rechtzeitig erkannt. Aber auch dann ist es wohl äußerst schwierig, das betroffene Pferd zu retten. Warum es dazu kommt, kann bisher auch nicht genau benannt werden. Ich denke, alle hier können es nicht glauben. Tröstend ist, dass Uniek ein wirklich liebevolles und glückliches Pferdeleben mit Yvonne erlebt hat. Egal ob Mensch oder Tier, wenn sie einem derart nahestehen und so eng zusammenlebt, ist es immer zu früh.❤

​@@simmic.5075 Yes rupture stomach in any animals or even humans is very hard. It is fatal. But like you said even in humans it is hard to catch on that it is happening.😢
