ZIL-41047 is an executive-class car with a limousine-type body. It represents the third and last restyling of the ZyL-114 generation model.
Due to the arrival of the new General Secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU in 1985, the production of ZIL-41047, which replaced the ZIL-41045 model, was started. Dual headlights have become rectangular, the radiator grill is styled differently, the rear lights have been replaced, and the turn signals have been moved to the ends of the wings. The revolving windows on the front doors have disappeared. Earlier, from 1976 to 1983, the ZIL-4104 (ZIL-115) model was produced with modifications, then from 1983 to 1985 - ZIL-41045 with modifications; both models were distinguished by round headlights and a number of other technical parameters. Technical refinement of some car systems was also carried out in order to comply with international environmental standards for the toxicity of exhaust gases. The ZIL-4104 engine was equipped with a contactless electronic ignition system. In 1988, the hydromechanical transmission underwent modernization: the design of the freewheel clutch and several adjacent parts was changed, which increased the reliability of the unit. ZIL-41047 got 16-inch wheels and even wider (265 mm) "rubber". The tires of the special brand "Granit" had a design that allowed moving with a depressurized wheel, which was achieved due to the very hard sidewalls of the tire and the special gel inside. The cars were intended for the service of members of the Politburo.

I would love to own one of these. It's a pity that they are so rare and when they pop up they are way too expensive for me. Those are my favourite Cars from ZIL, followed by the ZIL-114, because they look very classy, distinctive and very elegant and I love the interior... Great Video. Thanks for uploading. Thank you for this amazing video. This is the greatest car of the USSR. Classy, commanding power and respect, comfortable, huge, and well-built with a great interior and exterior. It is my dream car, although it is extremely expensive and rare.
Several years ago in Havana while traveling with my Young Pioneer Tours friends we hired a Zil like the one in the video to take us around town own a couple of evenings. Of course the driver claimed the car was one of Fidel's, who knows. Still every bit as nice a a Lincoln of the period.

Far from naive ! I am in Australia and have a 22 year old ford falcon 4ltr 6 cylinder that produces similar figures in virtually factory specifications !

Quite a car built like a tank but the build quality is another story look at the ripples in the body sides unfortunately the USSR wasn't renowned for quality.

طيب الآن توجد سيارة فاخرة إسمها «Aurus» وهي من إنتاج شركة «Sollers» الروسية المتخصصة بتصنيع السيارات الفاخرة . ولكن لا أعلم هل هذه الشركة هي إمتداد لشركة «Zil» الروسية العريقة ؟! أم أن شركة «Sollers» الروسية وماركتها «Aurus» هي جديدة تماما ؟!

Aurus is brand new, their first car was made for putins last inauguration. Outside of a quick 20 km trip the night before, when it picked up Putin and drove him away that was the first time it had drove. And it was successful. Very nice cars, and totally original even down to the motor.
1966 Buick Electra 225. Factory mid level luxury car same length. Probably nicer.

Because the Driver is not equal enough to get top luxury, that is reserved for the most equal Comrades.
Looks like this guy regrets the collapse of the Soviet Union. But who would allow him to drive this car in the Soviet times? The KGB would not allow him even to touch it.

فقط للتذكير : سيارات زيل تم إنتاجها لأول مرة في أواخر الحقبة القيصرية واستمر إنتاجها طوال الحقبة السوفياتية وأيضا إستمر إنتاجها في أوائل الحقبة الإتحادية الحالية حتى جاء عام ٢٠١٨ فتم إنتاج سيارات أوروس الفاخرة .
