I’m so disheartened too. That machine was so good to you guys! Hopefully it won’t be too long before you get a new RTV. Wishing you the best. - Jayden =)

Get a four seater John Deere Gator. We've had ours for 10 years and can't live without it on our farm. Unfortunately what we bought for 9k 10 years ago will probably be around 25k now. Love my Gator ❤

That would make me ill. Just got mine a few weeks ago after waiting nearly 2 months for delivery, and I can't imagine life without it. Ill be sure to use that e brake now! Sorry for your loss, that stinks.

Just a possibility, maybe you can buy back some parts off the unit, canopy, windshield, grill and winch from the insurance company , and get another base model to make up for some of what a new unit costs..

Inventory levels have inceased. The other brands will not have a hydrostatic transmission, which is something I think is required for a work machine. The Honda Pioneer 520 is close to the size of what you have and has a geared transmission. By far, the majority of other brands will have a CVT belt drive which I am not fond of for a work/trailering machine. Good luck with your search. It will all work out in the end.

Same thing happened to me with my 520. I parked the 520 (no e brake on but in gear) and nearly 20 minutes later it ended up in the bottom of the ravine about 50ft down. It was in high gear and rolled backyards and nearly a 100% flat area. Like I put a ball there after and it doesnt even roll. Anyway the machine was fine but I ripped the front brush guard apart pulling it back up. There is also a recall on the brakes or ebrake on this unit.

Is it completely inoperable? A total loss in the eyes of the insurance company does not necessarily mean it can't be fixed, it's just not financially viable (for them, not you) to pursue repairs.

  • @7StandsFarm

I actually thought about trying to fix and keep but I am not very mechanical and it was leaking hydraulic fluid and I was afraid it was something serious in transmission thank you for watching our videos

Reach out to your Kubota dealership. They'll check your mechanical systems and if there are any structural concerns they will usually have a good welder on call. I was looking down the barrel of a $56,000 telehandler boom replacement and was able to get the boom repaired, and re-certified from a welding company my local United Rentals uses to repair their equipment. The welder specialized in equipment repairs and regularly worked with an engineer who could test and sign off on the work. After repairs and re-certification everything cost $17,000. The turn around was 10 days. Compared to $56,000 for a new boom, 3-4 months for parts to arrive and then 10 days install afterwards, repairing was a no-brainer! Covid threw the supply chain out of whack and it still hasn't recovered. Repairing is usually the logical choice until that changes. @@7StandsFarm

That’s seems incredibly bizarre. I have a RTV 500. Even if you drove up there and didn’t pull the break up when you parked it, it would still be in gear, and the HST would have held it. If for some strange reason you shifted it into neutral without pulling the break, it would have likely rolled away immediately. The question is, was it in gear when you found it, and/or was the break on?
