You will love this thing for the things you can do with it ,but I got a heater in mine I have a long drive way and I plow it and labors also I got a window in front it's nice with heater will.onjoy it treat it nice and it will be good to you enjoy it.
Get the windshield that tilts open. Breaks the wind but lets air come up the back side to clear fog. Winch ✅ handy for moving trees Extra lights✅ for short days Build/weld some tool holders for the tools you need 80% of the time I had a 900 diesel Kobota. It was a brute and at 18 years old is still going strong.

All great ideas! I’m overwhelmed. Gotta get to work!
I love the fact that you and your son are having hoot with your new toy!
Congrats Lucas! You’re going to love it for sure. I’m going to suggest that you will want to add a windshield. It makes a big difference in the cold and rain. Enjoy!

I had no idea! It was so cold here last night. I told Caden, we are getting a windshield as soon as I can get back to the dealer! lol

Congrats on the new ride! I love how you took a brand new machine and just ran it through the woods how they were meant to be used....My Deere side by side takes a beating on my 32 acres.

Thanks! Yeah, I don’t want to abuse it, but I bought it to use, I’m gonna use it. 👊
Hey.. I wasn't finished watching it yet. Nice to see a NEW piece of equipment on the farm. Man you are going to spend a fortune kitting it out. Chain saw holder, winch, cell phone holder, gunrack, mirrors, windshield, steering wheel spinner, etc, etc. I am happy for you Lucas. I have been looking at them also. Lots of people have them up here and have enclosed it and put a heater in it. Take care and stay safe. PS: don't forget the CB radio with the big whip antenna. 🤓🤓

CB radio! 😂🤣😂 I need one!
Got ours for the farm in August 2023, super pleased. Got it with the winch, windshield, then added front ditch lights, front light bar, rear work lights (installed a fuse panel) and the biggest change, adding the DEMON lift kit. That gives you 2 more inches of clearance that I really needed here on the farm. Installed a GMRS radio for farm and wildlife habitat work. Still takes a bit to master the throttle, EZ does it. Great machine for work and a little playin too.

After months of use on the farm and trails, add the winch first, with windshield. Dealer put on the Orange Distributor windshield with the sliding vents, it’s perfect and works great. The lift kit is not expensive and gives a lot more clearance. Enjoy
Love the side by side I got mine in 2020 in the winter I took it for one ride got a windshield ordered the same night little to no fogging in winter or rain 100% recommend getting one will be the best choice you made ! May you and your family have a safe and blessed holiday keep up the amazing content

Congratulations, as you know it will be a great asset when doing work on the property. We bought one a couple years ago and love it...got the front and rear windows and it's nice to have them...they come off easily on the Polaris EV that we have. If you get one invest in the proper cleaning products to help prevent scratching.

What products do you recommend? I was thinking at least Rain-X would have to help…
I have a full windshield on my Mule and in the winter time I put a piece of see thru tarp across the back to keep the cold air from being sucked into the cab. Now make a list of what you want to add to it, lights, windshield, saw holder, more lights......😅

Glass windshield is better than the plexiglass…Congrats on the new machine
Wow! Congrats Lucas. You must've been a pretty good boy 'cause Santa came to Peek's Peak early this year! I know you you guys are going to love putting that thing to work (and PLAY)! Very happy for you guys. You may have said and I missed it, but I'm assuming, based on speed, that this is the gasoline version?
Nice Good choice At least you can get Parts.

Handy rig to run across the street with soda and chip runs. 😁 You might as well widen the trails they need to be "L" ready anyway 🤣

Good choice, you'll wonder why you waited so long after you use it for a while. I have the RTV X1120D it has the glass windshield that tilts open at the bottom don't have any problems with it fogging up even though I keep it closed most of the time. You'll love it, it's a tough machine....enjoy.

Nice ride. Seems quiter then others. I don't know if I've seen a sxs without a windshield. I believe it will be worth getting one. To help with the rain, Rain X make a water repellent for Plexiglass

Well Lucas, i guess you ain`t gittin a bigger tractor now, huh, lol.
I have a "Mule" with a plexiglass windshield. One problem is that it scratches easily running through branches and such and I put hours into polishing out the scratches.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

I was thinking mine would just get all scratched up and that’s why I opted against it. I think I’m ready to deal with scratches over the wind.
The windshield makes a world of difference

And doors, heater, and wipers. Wondering, how long does it take to realize "l paid, how much, for so little?" Looks like a lot of fun to drive, but a ton of shortcomings.
Maybe a half windshield would work better?
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
6 ай бұрын
I think I’m going to go back to the dealer and just get the full windshield that they had on it. Maybe treat it with Rain-X…
Question is not should you get one, but how have you managed so long without one! We only have 4 acres and our Polaris is indispensable. Before that, a Kubota (early models slow, topped out at 25 mph, but safer for the kids). And get the windshield, the slightly more expensive version that is scratch proof. Keep a rag on the dash for when it fogs up. Fogging issues are the exception, not the rule.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead

Thanks for sharing your experience. I am going to get a windshield. And you are right, every time I get in it I wonder why I waited so long.
If you only had to pick one, which is more useful to your homestead, the SxS or the tractor?
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
5 ай бұрын
Great question! I would say a tractor for sure in my case. The SXS is great for getting around and basic light work, but there is so much more land maintenance that you can accomplish with the little tractor.
Plenty of aftermarket windshields. My Ranger lives in low gear, much easier on the belt. Do Kubotas have CVT transmissions too?
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead
6 ай бұрын
Yeah, it is CVT so I’m thinking we will be running low gear most of the time. We have lots of hills and nowhere we need to be running over about 20mph…
Mine and several others are junk with serious crankcase oil gas contamination. I liked it until finding Kubota doesn't care.
