Oh my Laura, I don’t usually leave comments, but you made me cry and smile! I have three sons about your age, and as a mom, can I say that I’m so happy for you and proud of you?! You’re amazing! ….I have my Appledore waiting for your Cross Hatch (will be so worth the wait) and soon will be casting on Eclair. 🤗

The sweater you are knitting for your husband is so incredibly beautiful. You cannot put a price on a love like that! The sweater quilt pillows are so fun. What a great addition to your home. I hope you have so much fun on your girls holiday and I can't wait to see snippets. I am loving Patreon so far. I know you have a lot of moving parts and you are managing better than you think. Lots of love from Texas!

Before knitting, I was an avid quilter and your star quilt pillows are great! Definitely lends itself to that ‘scrappy’ look. Yes to the Christmas gift…..🧐….as soon as I finish the 6 hats for my granddaughter’s ‘helpers’ at her school. And, your daughter’s Strange Brew sweater is stunning, particularly the yarn that you have spun for it. The cable sweater is beautiful. I’m expecting for him to bring home your WOOL gift in the form of sheep! Hope you have a fenced front or backyard!! But, I’m guessing your children would want to keep them in the house!!😂

so happy to hear all your joy and success and to hear about your beautiful patterns and your established career as a knitwear designer. You have come such a long way from where you were on your first episode and you should just be super proud. The downs, then, happen. I used to be so cross and disappointed with myself when I found myself hitting the bottom during my healing journey but I know now that there are no people who are always in the most heavenly balanced situation, the highs and lows are part of all of us and accepting that is quite a critical step. Sending lots of love Dany xxx

I just apreciate you being so honest about your mental health. I just started my youtube knitting Podcast channel and I thought: well, I don't get this algorythm, I don't care anyways - I don't need to "make money" out of it - and yet I find myself checking on how "good" my new video ist doing. Better than my "most viewed"? I can see now how this can really stress someone out who needs this tool for "work". I wish you good pattern releases and a lot of lovely moments in autum!

I’m so proud of you, Laura. I love the perspective you gave about the success of the Soufflé and the Sweet Shop Blanket giving you the ability to then be more flexible. I think that’s so wise and I’m going to take that lesson into my professional life-we’ve put in our hours and tried our best, and we can rely on the ‘successful’ projects to give us the room and flexibility to make mistakes and actually learn.

Great video! I think that every designer is destined to have a few huge hits with a bunch of more medium sellers sprinkled in, but this is not a bad thing. For instance, I discovered Andrea Mowry through seeing Shift cowls and Nightshift shawls in my local yarn shops. Those patterns - which are huge hits for her - intrigued me and made me check out everything else she has designed, and now I've knit probably 15+ designs from her and I buy almost every new pattern she releases. Your big hits will attract people who will become more consistent fans of your work, which can help you gain a consistent following. It sounds like you've done a lot of work to improve your relationship with your job and that is fantastic!!

Love all your knitting🤩Too bad the husband found out about the sweater😅 If you want some advice about the Monstera, it would be to get rid of it. It has pests, most probably trips. Trips love Monsteras, I have stopped keeping that plant because of it. Looks like your plant on the other side of the chair also has it... Yellow spots on the leaves, ecpecially the newest leaves, that eventually turn brown is a certain sign. You can google it of course. It is a massive job fighting trips, and the damaged leaves will never recover. I'm sorry.

Hi Laura. Your sweater for your husband is gorgeous! He is going to love it. I have a question...I just steam blocked a body of a crocheted cardigan. Do you pin yours when you steam block? Hope that is not a stupid question. I pin the wet blocking. You make me want to find a place to take knitting lessons. The patchwork cushion is beautiful! It is an Evening or Sawtooth Star which has flying geese star points. An Ohio star has different star points. That 8 pointed star is fabulous! It is also called the LaMoyne Star. I used to teach patchwork 😉😃. Penny will love it. I remember seeing her reading corner and it is perfect. Happy Friday and have great weekend! 🧶

Wether or not I pin a garment depends more on the garment rather than how I’ve blocked it. I tend not to pin unless I want to change the shape of something, or it’s lace work of which I don’t really do much of! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!! X

I’m afraid it’s too subjective for me to yes any yarn will or won’t work for another person, but I will say the double Sunday is one of the softest I’ve used. I’m yet to feel a tickle bit again, that might not be the case for you. What a lot of people do is buy a single ball and knit up a swatch and then pop it on their chest under their clothes for a little while to see how if feels/if they react! Xx
