during the "forest scene" the filmmakers had the opportunity to make a genuinely good scene where the tree took off his lights, and we later saw the girl walking through the forest, and right when she thought she lost him the tree behind her in the background reached forward and lunged at her. that would have been genuinely scary and well put together scene

This is like someone who's never actually seen a Christmas tree, being told to write a movie about a killer Christmas tree. At least when M. Night Shyamalan makes a movie about killer plants, I trust that he understands, like, the physical properties of plants.

The friend's costume is actually a Christmas cracker, they're a festive tradition here in the UK. They're basically little paper tubes that you pull with the person sat next to you during Christmas dinner until it splits apart. They go off with a bang and then you get a prize inside, usually a dumb small toy, a bad joke to read out, and a paper crown to wear. That's why the tree pulls her in half - it's just a stupid visual gag.

Hexagram and Septagram pop up alot in Old medieval Grimoires influenced heavily by judaistic mysticism, Qabbalah and a good dash of dark age imagination. I think they were aiming for a Seal of Solomon, albeit done so far off lol

I'm not Jewish, but it was also hilarious to me that this movie just unintentionally implied that the Jewish summon demons.

I have a fake Christmas tree that is a torture device. Bought it from a random site this year. When I opened it I managed to cut both my hands( deep cuts). The wires of the tree are 0,5 cm thick, they aren't covered in any protection. Worst of all their edges are sharp as knives. If a poor animal was to fall into this tree of mine it would end up impaled. So....there you have it. Tortures Christmas trees are real🤷🏻‍♀️ Happy Holidays Elvis ! I found the one plot hole in this film: when the old lady created the killer tree, she just took him out of the box. She didn't decorate him. Where did he get the lights and the tinsel? Did he break into a Walmart and decorate himself? Yeah, I definitely think this may not have been real.

I can't get over the scene of the tree jumping off the castle roof. I don't expect much from a movie called The Killing Tree, but the way it's animated looks like someone just click and dragged it, but were ordered to keep it on screen. It's hilarious.

Solomons seal. Medieval Grimoires used the Hexagram alot. They dragged alot from judaistic mysticism. So it's not super far off, but even for the influence (most based on the Key of Solomon I believe)... They even did that injustice

As a resident of the UK, I can confirm that we are constantly attacked by Christmas trees whilst fucking in -2 degree weather next to our Los Angeles pools. Really annoying.

this movie is a perfect example of "just because you can, dont mean you should" and "just because you have an idea, does not mean its a good idea" at least there is times where it seems like they know the movie is terrible and just rolls with it.

That's the Seal of Solomon its in a circle and has candles where the dots should be so its not the star of david, its supposed to give you command over supernatural stuff.
