Kavanaugh has plenty of reasons to be upset, so I wasn't surprised to hear he let off some steam at the hearing. But then I actually watched the clips of him talking, and... Jesus, this man BABBLES almost as bad as Trump. He repeats himself over and over, he can't give a straight answer, and he can't control his temper. This may not have been a trial but he was testifying under oath. What kind of a judge talks like THIS under oath? Continually refusing to answer with a simple yes or no, acting downright petulant when cornered by hard questions, and even throwing the questions back at the questioner. If a witness had talked like that in Kavanaugh's own court, Kavanaugh would have been fully justified in finding that witness in contempt of the court. This man has been presiding over trials for decades, deciding the fate of hundreds of defendants--and now that HE is the one accused, he can't handle the pressure.

Dapeszito Norbesz I'm sure I wouldn't do well either. But Kevanaugh is a JUDGE. He makes a living putting people on trials. But when he himself was put to the same test that thousands of defendants went through under his gavel, he failed spectacularly.

@@fifermcgee5971 because that FBI investigation will postpone his nomination, which is what this whole cherade was designed to do. If he knows he's innocent, why would he willingly sign away his potential final chance at a nomination? He was the one who wanted a hearing THE DAY AFTER, and it was delayed constantly. Fords supposed 'fear of flying' was the reason, despite the fact she travels constantly around the world for work and leisure. The FBI could have investigated the claims 60+ days ago when Feinstein had that information initially. This WHOLE cherade is to delay and deny this man his nomination as SCOTUS.

Did you see Ms Fords answering to her questions that were nothing compared to what Mmlr Kavanaugh was being drilled on and not only was she reading from a script but she also had 2 lawyers on both her sides helping her answer her questions. Kavanaugh had just him and was being drilled. Im sorry but hes innocent and with this whole circus scares me into thinking what someone can be accused of and basically people believing it with no proof or anything, can ultimately happen to more innocent people when someone wants revenge or anything now..

Naomi Jenner The Senate Judiciary committee is conducting this hearing. All of them are lawyers and many are former prosecutors. One of a prosecutor's tricks (actually, not a trick, just the way they have been trained to do their job in order to CONTROL the answer and therefore control the narrative in court) is to ask a leading question that asks for a yes or no answer. Here they wanted him to answer yes to the question of whether he had ever gotten so drunk he blacked out with a "yes" to imply that he was that way during the Ford incident and simply forgot. Why would he fall into that trap?

Kavanaugh acted in the same petulant manner as Trump often does, instead of acting calm and composed. And of course, as such, he just had to bring up the 2016 election, and for whatever reason the Clinton's as well even though they had nothing to do with his accusations. And as well, deterring questions as best as he possibly (and pathetically) can. For someone to take position in The Supreme Court for life should mean that they know how to conduct themselves in a courtroom, to say the very least, and he failed miserably at that.

Also for everyone who's commenting on SOME of his comments back to the senator saying he's angry and mean try being in his shoes. Accusing him of assault and sexual harassment/drunk. Plus the way that senator was asking the questions and cutting him off and he's supposed to just be alright with all of the accusations and can't stand up for himself he's supposed to just sit their and take every thing they accuse him of and all the slander and be fine with it. I'd love to see how the majority of the people commenting on SOME of his comments back would react if they were in his shoes and were being accused of the same things as he is. Also I'm not saying I want him to be on the supreme court or that it matters to me but to seen somebody guilty of accusations wth no evidence to them so far just based off of his "demeanor" and his comments he made to ONE senator makes me think it doesn't matter if he is innocent that y'all wanted him to be guilty from the beginning of the accusations.

Anyone who's gone to highschool knows that the Renate Alumni reference was not intended to be respectful, and quotes from other "alumni" in that yearbook act as further evidence that it was undeniably not. This shows that he has no problem with lying about a key issue, and more importantly, we get a look into exactly how he lies. He is not angry, he is defensive. @@alexissemler8388 thank you for sharing your story. How do you think holding a hearing to get to the truth of a matter of sexual misconduct from a potential supreme court judge is using the victims? Do you think it would be better for the victims of assault and the nation to see it swept under the rug? I am not arguing for either case, but pointing out that to disrespect the very pursuit of the truth is shameful. If there is any chance that this man has indeed committed the acts of misconduct then every care should be taken to fairly examine the evidence and hear both sides. As a judge himself I would have hoped he would understand that and deeply respect it, instead of the intense disrespect he showed by shooting questions back, yelling, and displaying inappropriate levels of anger for a judge demonstrated that he cannot handle that pressure with grace. He is not just a poor man wrongly accused he is a nominee for one of the highest offices of our country and should understand the temperament which that requires. The conservatives would have a fit if any Democrats behaved in that same way, let alone any women. Imagine if dr ford displayed that same anger, how would you feel about her?

Some people believe that the best defense is to be outraged. The stupidity in Graham and Kavanaugh is mind blowing and reveals current administration tactics. Dr. Ford is an American hero. Much of Kavanaugh's defense revealed his true bully, whining, belligerent character. He lacks remorse and respect for others. The American people can do better than Kavanaugh. Also, it is time for a change of guard - these ancient white men have got to go. If they were wise or even minimally intelligent that would be a different story. It would make sense that since Clinton doesn’t hold office, they wouldn’t want to let trump’s nominee get in. There’s no evidence, its all he said she said. There’s nothing to investigate if she can’t remember where the house was, what year the party happened, how she got there, how she got home, or any other important details. Her own friend who Ford named as a witness said that party never took place and she had never been at a party where kavanaugh was present. If there was real evidence then I’d be 100% for a full investigation and a no vote for kavanaugh. That’s simply not the case here.

He may or may not be guilty. Need conclusive evidence. The fact that she talks in a sweet sounding voice with (some) emotion while he's loud and upset is not proof. Plus there were instances where she herself was dodging questions. For example, she was asked a straightforward question about how she was able to determine the exact month and year of the party after she had given (before this hearing took place) two contradictory timeframes. She pretty obviously pretended not to have understood the question and responded as if she was asked a general question about memory. And when pressed she said it was based off when she got her Drivers license; but I don't see how that would get her to a specific month for the incident unless she claims to have gotten it just a month afterwards.
