I’ve had a female ragdoll cat before, it was my moms, but she was attached to me, she was unique, she was very cuddly, talkative, and energetic. Her name was daisy. She would sleep with me every night, she would stay by my side for hours if I was sick or crying. She was very smart, she knew how to sit, spin, lay down, high five, and I taught her a trick called tippy taps, where she moved her feet in a tapping motion. She would follow me around the house and I could put her on a harness and take her for walks. Everytime I sat or i tried to lay in bed, she would run into my lap and cuddle up next to me. I truly miss her. R.I.P daisy 2021 ❤

So true! I stayed overseas and became very, very ill with colitis. The people I was staying with had two beautiful cats, a brother and sister pair. The female almost never came out. I only saw her a handful of times in the living area, whereas the male was always on the couch, looking for a lap to sit on. When I became ill the female would cuddle me in bed and one time, when I was curled up on the bathroom floor on my side, she came pushed her back into my belly, so we were spooning. It was the sweetest thing and gave me so much comfort 🥹❤️

This is pretty accurate for my ragdolls. They're both super affectionate and follow me around. My girl is a little more independent and calm. My boy is more playful and energetic. He likes to climb the curtains and walk all over me, kneed by face, and groom me in the morning, which can get... exhausting. I prefer the more relaxed personality of my girl. She's so sweet and soft. I love when she licks my fingers and hand while petting her. They both let me pick them up, but my mom is able to hold my boy for hours while only lets me hold him for a few minutes. I don't know her secret

Your cats are cute! From my experience, female cats are more affectionate than male cats. Female cats prefer to stay inside a house while male cats want to be outside most of the time and they wander much much farther than female cats.

I have just one cat, but that certainly wasn't my choice. It was, Either get one or none. 🙄 If I had it my way, I absolutely would have also adopted one of her litter mates as well. Hopefully I'll be able to get another cat within the near future. I know my Lydia would absolutely love having a playmate. 😢 (Non-aggressive, non territorial. She's the sweetest thing ever. 😢)

  • @jonathanreiman7882

@@AudreyC379you can never be certain until the other cat moves in. I've had a female that seemed a perfect fit for a playmate, even was ok with stranger cats outside the house. It wasn't until we moved in a cat she interacted with well at first did we find out that wasn't the case. We tried a couple different cats before finding out that biscuits wants to be with her humans only, and will become aggressive and upset upon realizing that the new cat isn't just passing through and is here to stay. In fact, it caused her such anxiety even after the other cat was moved out that she still is upset & nervous to this day, months later. She seems to worry I might try it again, and is still on edge. If I knew, I would have never tried. It can be a hard decision, and oftentimes not fixing something not broken is the best choice. Cats are often affectionate and comfortable simply because of the fact they feel stable and secure. Good luck either way! 🐈

Sorry I haven't watched in so long, but back in May we lost Helios to kidney failure, and your babies look so much like him. We told the breeder and she was devastated, but of course she immediately offered us a new kitten. We went to pick the kitten up but she had a 6 month old "accident" she had failed to find a home for. One of her blue bi colour females had escaped while she was in heat. Little guy had the sweetest personality, even though he was only half ragdoll he had the full ragdoll temperament. He was also solid blue. So we took him home instead! Oberon has been a delightful ray of sunshine to help heal our souls. He and Artemis love each other and play together. Oberon also loves Pangur, but Pangur does not love him back! I'll probably go back and watch your old videos soon. I hope you understand why it has been so hard, we loved our Helios so much.

Two DMS boys here. Both ex-strays. Weirdly the one who isn't as cuddly is the one that isn't skittish around other people. Our cuddle bug is scared anyone not us. Something to work on. Gender honestly means so little, I wouldn't really even consider it when it came to getting another cat.

I picked up two strays, both female, clearly mother and daughter, so it wasn't really a choice. I'm working on moving them indoors (neither really know what indoors is just yet...) Mom's rather affectionate, the daughter is pretty standoffish, but seems like she wants to make friends. Eventually. Both are now spayed.

Great video, as always Cat Butler! I have always had a male cat paired with a female dog with great results. Both times that I varied from my preferred pairing of species and sexes have been fraught with major issues, as I was basically talked into taking the puppy or kitten the breeder wanted to sell. In both non-overlapping cases (thank God), the female cat who urine marked my bed and the total PIA male dog were returned after several months of soul searching, anxiety and tears shed. Lesson learned! My current Siamese boys Jasper and Austen and their baby sister Dachshund, Hildy, have proven once again my formula works! On the prevailing notion that “two is better than one”, I would add the caveat that breed does matter! The boys breeder pushes very hard, and since I had not yet gotten word from Hildy’s breeder after a three year wait, I succumbed. While I would not change anything now, that first year of life with two extremely active, inquisitive, and destructive Siamese kittens brought me to the edge of sanity. Exploring kitchen cabinets and smashing dishes on the floor was indeed a first for me! One kitten would have been absolutely fine with Hildy as a companion, however, my happy little trio are of course priceless to me now!❤ hugs to Temo and Arya! Michael Albuquerque NM USA

My husband and I adopted two female cats recently. Their names are Charmy and Frieren (we love anime). They are torties and are sisters. Frieren is more laid back and less cuddly. Charmy however is a cuddle loving monster that needs to be in your lap or she will meow for eternity. She also has no awareness of her surroundings and will roll off anything which makes me a bit nervous. They both are playing machines though and can play for a solid hour before getting tired. We love them both though and couldn't imagine life without them.

Hello, I’ve just joined you and subscribe to your channel, I am a breeder of RAGDOLLS and I have eight of all different colors boys as well as girls, and they all pretty much get on quite well. There is a pecking order in every animal, but pheromone plug-ins can help that, the ragdoll ragdoll takes four years to fully develop. Not a lot of people knew that they all the most wonderful docile cat great with dogs, children the elderly male and females alike. Yes, the boys are always bigger and when they become fathers the queens, which is the female that had the kittens his kittens will allow him to come in and greet them, even when they’re newborn, that’s a delight to watch these kittens grow after delivering them into the world and as they get bigger, I’m ready to leave make other families happy with their kittens❤

Speaking for myself, I have an unneutered male cat who is half indoor and half outdoor. He has a remarkable habit of going outside whenever he needs to pee or poo, consistently avoiding any accidents inside the house over his three and a half years. Astonishingly, he eats with an almost human-like appetite, and I can't help but wonder if it's a Balkan feline trait. Despite the norm of neutering, we've opted to let him be, and he remains remarkably healthy, content, and just purrs away.

My female kitty loves to play and cuddle. She follows me around everywhere i go. Even just walking around the house she's always by my side. She sleeps between my legs most nights too. Shes my little space heater. She was a ferrell kitty (all black with a little chest patch of white) and i took her in at about 2 or 3 months old. Her name is willow. ( As in willow Ferrell) Spayed her around 7 months. She went into heat a few times before i was able to get her spayed. She is so talkative. I try and talk to her all day long and tell her i love her and play with her with her mousies and fishies. I might have saved her from the dangers of the outside (we live in the country with wild dogs and coyotes) but she saved me too. She basically cured my depression and ive been sober from drugs for over 2 years now. I got clean when i saved her. I used for almost 10 years. She truly saved my life and i love her with every ounce of my heart and soul.

I have never owned a female cat. I have always had male cats. Even growing up I've always had male cats. I almost adopted a female cat recently but by the time I got to the Humane Society someone already adopted her.

The answer is get a male for love, get a female if you want less health issues.

Not all males spray. Some do it once, and some hose down the whole house. All cats will spray if they are stressed, male or female. If a male has plenty of privacy from other cats people and is played with, he may never spray. The vast majority don’t.

It’s always so funny to me watching these videos about sex differences because my cats apparently enjoy to defy stereotypes 😹 My Maine Coon cats are almost exactly 20 months old now, so rapidly approaching turning 2 years old in Feb (where does the time go?! Where did my kittens go?! 🙀), and I’ve got one boy and one girl from a litter of originally 8. They at least conform to the stereotypes on size alone - My boy cat Harvey 🐈 is absolutely bigger - 8kg vs 5kg for Nikita 🐈‍⬛ - and he’s also got a noticeably wider face. Nika actually has a much longer and fuller mane, and her tail has been both longer and wider/fluffier (though Harvey is slowly puffing out his tail and catching up!)… but interestingly, Harvey has much softer and silkier fur, which is much less prone to tangles/matts/furballs! I think this is probably due to the genetic lottery and the coat type they each ended up inheriting from a combination of their parents rather than specifically to do with their sex… but I am curious about the rest of their litter, and am going to make a point of asking the breeder if they can find this out from the other cat-parents of my cats’ siblings! They were both neutered/spayed at 5 months old, and it would have been sooner if I could have arranged it, especially due to having a brother and sister and not wanting to take any chances of them maturing early and mating (which would have got me in big trouble with the breeder as well as anything else)! TBH I feel like breeders should probably neuter their kittens before they go to their new homes, especially because I didn’t take my kittens home until they were 14 weeks old. Early neutering is a practice that happens more and more now, and some vets will do the op at around 8-10 weeks, which I *fully* support if the vet is skilled and experienced enough to ensure the health and wellbeing of the kittens. The consequences of not neutering are serious and wide-reaching, both to the immediate and long-term health of your cat, as well as to the wider cat population. Both you and I have bought pedigree cats rather than adopting from a shelter so this 100% is not a lecture or a judgment (though I also very much support the “adopt don’t shop” mentality, if it’s a viable option! I’m mega-allergic in a very long-term and serious way to all cats I’ve met so far, with the exception of Ragdolls and Maine Coons (and cross-breeds, of which I know two!), so for me it was a necessity to know the breed of my cats, and also why I didn’t get my own cats as an adult until I was almost 40), but I know there are so many kittens needing homes and that I 1000% did not want to bring any more into the world by accident, especially in the event of inbreeding between siblings 🙀 One thing you didn’t mention [about the problems faced by un-neutered cats] is the danger of pyometra for female cats, which is an infection of the uterus that can occur even during their first heat cycle, and is an emergency medical situation that can be life-threatening without immediate medical/surgical treatment. There’s also a significantly reduced risk of many kinds of cancers for neutered cats of both sexes (ovarian/cervical/uterine/mammary cancers for female cats, and testicular cancers in male cats); so all of that coupled with the huge benefits to their behaviour and wellbeing (and the knock-on effect as to how good a pet they are for living in your home!), plus the associated longevity of not roaming while looking for a mate and/or fighting during the process, makes neutering a total no-brainer for me 😊 I was going to talk more about the temperament/personality differences in my two cats, but I got carried away and I have to go! I’ll come back later to add to this if I can ☺️

Male cats fight more and cost you a lot more money at the vet. Male cats are just as affectionate as girl cats, Just as loving.
