Beautiful 911! Great job, and I like the color choices. I've really enjoyed watching both you and Matt Murphy over the years on the true crime shows.
I could listen to John Lewin talk about anything! Greatest prosecutor!
Truth be told, that 911 is perfect. Slighty upgraded with ST flares but never going too far away from the original design. His Fuchs wheels in correct 15 inch size look great and the cars stance is perfect.

That is because all the 55-year-old mechanicals have been stripped out and replaced by better Porsche parts. There really isn't much left of the original car but the frame and some flared body panels. That paint is not 55 years old. That interior is not 55 years old.

Great 1969 911S ! I think the Porsche flares, wider rims, suspension & brake upgrades are perfect - although I admit, the car is in the family for several decades - if I had it when it was still original decades ago, I probably would have done the 930 style mechanical updates & leave it more original cosmetically, maybe sitting up 1 inch higher. 👍👏☝️💪💪💪 This also brings me back to when I was in autocross (was also called gymkhana back then) 1977 to 1980, with my 71 Opel Manta coupe - was always great to see the original 1960s-70s 911 cars come to the events, especially the PCA events; and working at a VW Porsche shop summers 1976-78.
The super super beetle!
Jay is one of the last few of my generation with the love of all things automotive and the passion for everything mechanical. So many just see the beauty of automobile design from the curb. The old guys like us notice the beauty of everything from the paint job and flares. We see the beauty and thought of the old engineers in something simple like the bolt and clamp holding the ignition coil on that old original beetle.
Mr. Leno , You have been a very busy man most your life . Thank you for taking the time to share with us all your hobbies . Take care , Tom J. , Sitka Alaska

Sounds like his _dad_ actually did that. Back then, people weren't thinking of future collectible value. But restomods like this (done right) often bring in more money than originals, at auction these days. Paint color is subjective. I would have gone with the rarer factory blue color, but each owner is different. You like what you like and paint can always be changed.
I would describe the seats as "oxblood" and I absolutely love that colour right beside cognac they are by far my two favourite colours for any interior.
Once again just two car guys! You won't get this anywhere else but at Jay Leno's Garage. Thanks Jay

My family has owned a 1959 356 convertible d since new in 1959. My mother and grandfather drove it home from the dealership. She was 4 years old. Convertible D is the rarest 356. Its a speedster with roll up windows and a slightly taller windshield and cushioned seats

This machine is absolutely beautiful & I agree Porsche, for me at least, will always be Silver over red or Guards Red over black.
My dad bought two Porsche's from a guy at Pomona Swap Meet back in March of 85. The best out of two was a 1968 911S Targa Softwindow. It needed a respray of its guards red.. that's all it needed. He just added some polished 85 turbo Fuchs and called it a day. It's my mom's, and the other is my dad's. Both cars have less than 500 miles on them since that March. He said none of us kids are getting any of his car collection. He said they go to auction and mom gets the money.
I like the sounds from the older Porsche engines, a lot more raw and raspy.

I'm not a Porsche guy, nor can I afford one but... this is what I'd buy if I could.
What's to love about a 911 engine compartment? But the rest of the car is beautiful. Special its been in the family for generations.
Beautiful example of a tastefully modified 911 and it's an amazing story of the passion passing through three generations. I disagree with it being a Singer on a budget as this is the original style that Singer was inspired by. As a life-long lowrider, I agree, it makes no sense but I have found there is an undeniable charm to having a car that is best enjoyed cruising the city at a relaxed pace vs a performance car tearing up canyons. Just my $0.02.

I'll grant that it's a nice build, though had it been mine I would've preferred leaving it with the original S engine and drivetrain rather than put in a later SC transplant. I think I would've left it in the "midnight blue" as well, especially if my dad has chosen that paint-to-match color at the beginning. But right now it's his car and he's free to do with it as he pleases. And as long as he's happy with it who can really argue that it's wrong to restomod even a relatively rare variant like the 911S.
