The Japanese Type 94 Pistol - Worst Handgun of WWII?

Ғылым және технология

Today we're looking at the Japanese Type 94 pistol. These were 8mm Nambu caliber compact pistols which sit weird in the hand, are ill-balanced, and inherently unsafe, with design features allowing the gun to go off with just careless handling. The example we're looking at is an early war production example with original holster and box of ammo. These are interesting, but poorly designed pistols, worthy of any collection of weird handguns.

Interesting because the ammo box says 15rounds but it it actually contains 16rounds

i'd actually say the glisenti model 1910 was the worst, overcomplicated, jammed alot, bad cartridge, sure the 94 had the problem with going off without pulling the trigger, but other than that it atleast could shoot

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't this gun notorious for going off without touching the trigger

Yes, careless handling could set it off due to an exposed trigger bar.
