The Japanese Type 91 Grenade - Dangerous to Both Sides

Ғылым және технология

Today we're looking at the Japanese Type 91 grenade. These were capable of being used either as a standard hand grenade, used in the Japanese Type 89 "Knee Mortar" grenade discharger, or fired from a cup type launcher for rifle grenades from a standard Arisaka rifle. With a 7-8 second fuse, they could be picked up and thrown back by enemy soldiers. This, combined with the fact that the quality control was somewhat lacking made them a rather hazardous explosive to deploy.
