@@susanturnbull9773 Yes, I know fully what you mean, Susan. A single insight or phrase can move a mountain! I have cancer and severe breathing problems, and am morbidly obese. Recently I have started on a ketotonic diet and a dairy-free regime, to prepare for my surgery to have a kidney removed. It is hard to say 'no' to sugar and carbs, but, as you so rightly argue, it is harder to look in the mirror with self-loathing and feelings of guilt and regret for neglecting one's health over the years (I am 71). As for me, I believe firmly that seventy is, or can be, the new forty, so I don't feel old 'inside' at all, (and I'm still a whizz at mental arithmetic!) It's never too late. Also, I hope and believe that should I not get through the surgery I will go to be with my beautiful Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. So either way, I am a winner! God bless you.

We all of us, including you, repeat things which have helped, amused, or impressed us, and that is surely a good thing. To demand that everything we say must be 'original' is to make all previous wisdom redundant. As the great Isaac Newton once said: 'If I have seen further than others, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of the giants that have gone before me'. I’m currently on day 3/40 of my water fasting. I was diagnosed with leukemia 2 years ago, got cancer free for a year but now my blood tests are showing leukemia cells again. I’m praying that I will cure or at least help the cancer not to spread more. Please pray for me 😢🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😔 Edit: I ended my water fasting on a day 26/40. I didn’t mind at all the fast heartbeat which I think i had it because of dehydration, but I started being concerned when I had body chills. Literally on the day 25 I was feeling so cold. The benefits are beyond imagination though. I lost 25 pounds, I was taking 2 bp medications and now I take None. My skin looks so smooth like I am 10 years younger and my vision is so much better. Now I am eating one meal a day OMAD because I am scared that leukemia will come back. I am determined to do a 3 days water fasting once or twice a month until I am completely cancer free! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the prayers the support and love. I wish health, happiness and blessings to all of you guys! 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️ God bless you all.

I am on day 36 of my 40 day water fast. 44lbs lost so far. I remember watching this video before starting. I take a multivitamin, B complex, vitamin C, magnesium supplement, sea salt, and usually 2-3 liters of water every day. I’ll likely hit 50lbs lost by the conclusion of this, which is 4 days away as of writing this. I did this for more than weight loss. I woke one Sunday morning feeling depressed and sick of the direction my life was going. It was the morning after a night of bad eating and drinking. I was tired of being tired of being tired. I couldn’t stand looking at the person in the mirror, and I was tired of the toxic relationships I had with people who used you when they needed something, but were nowhere to be found when they were doing good. A fast as a hard reset on my life was the best thing I could have ever done to find clarity in my life.

I've done many fasts and a 40 day fast once. After about 3 or 4 days, hunger goes away and you, actually, start to have a lot of energy. At some point, you aren't hungry anymore, but realize how much time you spend buying, preparing, thinking about and eating food. It is almost more about those things than being hungry. Anyway, I highly recommend fasting...and praying!

@@bittercoffee113 There will be a good chance you will have hair shedding that you will notice a month or so after the fast. The longer the fast the more likely this will happen. Hair is at the very bottom of the priority list for the body, so when protein and nutrients are low it can cause hair follicles to shut down and go to sleep. This isn't hair loss as when you return to eating those hair follicles will come back into the growing stage. Chronic and long term nutritional deficiencies or hormonal imbalances cause hair loss. Bones will be broken down as well through autophagy, but this again will be quickly regenerated when you start eating and healing again. Fasting is amazing but doing it too much and not allowing the body to heal and recover can cause issues as your eating away at the body but not allowing it time to recover. Fasting is two parts, the actual fasting and then the eating and recovery aswell.

Fasting is such a great body and mind reset tool. Love it. Will do it till I die. I feel great when fasting. Mind is widening and improving on a daily basis. The constant food injection is making the opposite. Making the body busy with processing that food, but the body and mind are dependent on the carbs every 3 to 4 hours. And then hunger. No more hunger while on fasting and keto.

Hi guys, quick update. I did it! I completed the fast on April 3rd at 3pm and I couldn't be more proud of myself for the achievement. During the fast I consumed absolutely nothing but bottled water. No supplements, no tea, no coffee. Nothing. I can't say if I'd recommend people do that as the prolonged experience of zero electrolytes is unpleasant as best. I intend to do another 30 day fast likely in May, this time with the addition of magnesium and potassium supps to experience the difference. Ultimately I lost exactly 53.7lbs, down from almost exactly 400 lbs and I feel fantastic. I've been on a little break so I can enjoy some of my favorite foods (in moderation of course) so starting Monday I'll go back to 1 meal a week for the rest of April untill I do another 30 in May.

People really made the situation worse so I wouldn’t tell anyone if I did it again and just avoid people altogether.

I fasted no food just water and plain tea with lemon for 46 days and just recently broke it. I lost almost 50 pounds and my body completely reset itself, regenerated and restored from the inside out. I’d suddenly started dealing with blood pressure issues and other health problems which the doctor prescribed me medication for that I absolutely refused to take so I prayed about it and God led me on what I thought was a 21 day fast of no food just water but it was actually a 46 day fast instead. My body completely changed as if it was repaired to new. I’m currently on zero medications and my blood pressure previously 180/99 is currently 117/80 with a normal pulse and no other issues in my body, completely healthy, PRAISE GOD! I also have a lot of energy and I definitely sleep better now and longer. Once I broke it I had to start off eating very light because my stomach could only handle a very small portion of food. Of course I thought eating vegetables were ok but, NOT. I thought I was going to die after I ate little of them so I started throwing up nonstop which was the worst feeling and my stomach was turning flips amongst other things which I won’t mention and I almost passed out. FYI, after a long period of fasting a little bone broth would probably be better once it’s broken. Since breaking my fast about 2 weeks now I’ve only been eating one meal a day drinking just water with lemon and eating no junk foods, fast foods nor sweets. I eat organic everything, lots of vegetables, I cook all of my meals now because I know what going in them. I buy only organic grass fed meat which I still don’t eat a lot of (meat that is) My whole lifestyle of eating has completely changed without the slightest cravings for any of the mess I was addicted to eating before. I don’t even miss it. Fasting is definitely one of the greatest benefits to having a healthier body. Denying your body the thing it craves most is actually giving your body what it need most and that’s no food for an extended period of time. Be blessed on your journey to becoming a better and healthier you through fasting.

Suggestion for your next fast and to others - the first few days can be the hardest so if you are three days in and feeling good I would suggest you keep going as it gets easier and the benefits of better health, no hunger, lots of energy, mental/brain improvements and not needing too much sleep and waking early and refreshed start to reveal themselves. Plus you have a lot of extra time! And keep a detailed diary of your experiences/feelings - that's very helpful. I'm on day four of my third fast as I type. I highly recommended fasting.

@@sofahitam_id2412 All people die, of course. But the way a lot of people go down is tough, painful, freedom limiting. And the reason for a lot of that is their body has a lifetime of junk in it and the internal garbage man ( autophagy ) works less and less, allowing things to pile up. Fasting clears out the toxins, bad cells, defunct pieces on a subcellular level ahead of time so that when the garbage man stops working, your issues won't pile up nearly as fast. I am 55 and have a 1 yr old grandson. I hope that in 15 years I can still be physically active to be a part of his life. That is my goal.

But at Day 10, I felt like a million bucks and didn't want to stop fasting but my parents were freaking out that I hadn't eaten so I basically stopped for them. But having them watch me the whole time definitely changed their perspective on fasting and they worry less and less when they see that my anxiety goes down, depression goes down, energy goes up, mental clarity and health goes up, etc.

When I decided to do a 40 day water fast, I had recently been diagnosed with mild arthritis on my left shoulder. Even though it was 'mild' the pain was unbearable. On top of that, I was 25 kg overweight so I had plenty of fat stores. I was 47 year old then and after the 40 days of water fasting I felt like a 20 year old and my skin looked amazing! AND the arthritis went away and hasn't come back. I drank only tap water with a pinch of Himalayan salt, I also drank sugar free electrolyte drinks, a vitamin supplement, iron (I had low iron) taken with water and lemon (to increase its absorption) and every night I used pure magnesium oil on my legs.I was working while on the fast so the last two weeks of fasting were a little taxing as I was feeling lethargic but my mental clarity remained despite the tiredness. I also noticed some muscle mass loss but I at least I felt that I had a 'blank' canvas to work with after the fast meaning I would be able to goto the gym and build muscle on a body that had much less fat stores than when I started the fast. I'm not telling you to fast for 40 days because I am not a medical practitioner but I can say that it worked for me. Also, if you are a spiritual person, it benefits you tremendously. After the fast, it is important that you break the fast the proper way and then do a lifestyle change to maintain the benefits you obtained on the fast. Having a healthy diet, exercising and building muscle mass is paramount to having a functional and quality of life particularly if you want to age well and be able to do the things you enjoy. If you go back to your old habits, unfortunately you will again suffer the same ailments that you had before, so it needs to be a conscious decision to do a complete overhaul of your lifestyle.

This isn't true. If our ancestors went hungry for weeks and then suddenly managed to get food are you telling me that they thought 'oh I had better eat this food slowly over many days otherwise I might die'. No, they would eat as much as they could until they were stuffed and before it rotted or something else ate it first. I never believed it was dangerous to eat normally after a fast so I tried it myself after a 2 week water fast. I ate as much of whatever I was craving until I was stuffed and it the most delicious thing ever. The worst thing that happened was that I urgently needed a massive crap an hour later. Interestingly I couldn't eat anywhere near as much as I had intended to either because my stomach had shrunk.

At first, I thought it was a heat bump, but I started to discover the pattern. The heat bump comes after five days of my period. It won't go away for about two weeks, and it is very painful. I started to google and found it to be an autoimmune condition called HS. Luckily, my one is not so severe, but it leaves behind scars. So far, I have had it around my armpits and my buttocks. I was completely shattered when I read that it was uncurable. The same day, I found a video about fasting, and some of them posted that they had recovered from autoimmune disease by fasting. @Brett M yea you are right, I can confirm from my own experience, In 21 days I drink just water, but It was hard.... tired all the time, heavy muscles, problem with sleep etc etc... When I did 6 days fast but with salt I had same level of energy maybe even more, sleep was better (not perfect but when I compare It was better) not heavy muscles and pretty ok energy I could even do litle exercise like yoga... so yes definitely there should be some information about electrolytes in 10+ days fasting, you are basically dehydrated because of osmosis... your body sucks at retaining sodium when you dont have insulin spikes, When I am on keto diet I can take 2-3 times more salt than before and I am completely fine, I dont know about potassium and from where could I get in on fast like sodium (which is from salt) Yea I know that there is potassium chloride just like sodium chloride but when you think about our ancestors could they supplement potasium chloride ?? I think not so our body must have some evolutionary mechanism how to retain potassium better when we fast and another fact is that potassium Is most abundant mineral in our cells sodium is outside of cells so we do not need so much because we do not lose it so much like sodium (sweat, urine etc)

I just completed an 8 day water fast. After the 4th day it gets much easier and I sometimes had bursts of energy and mental clarity. This video is very long, but here are some of the benefits of extended water fasting: 1) decrease insulin resistance 2) autophagy - your body eats 'zombie' cells, bacteria, pre-cancer cells and immunity cells and replaces them with new ones 3) you retain muscle mass when you just drink water - no supplements, tea/coffee or even gum. Anything except water can break your fast.

You can supercharge your fasting to heal your body faster by using a little apple cider vinegar in the water, and a little DMSO (which kills also cancer) and a little msm, and iodine, there are ways to super-charge your fast to optimize your results! @@carmencas358 For normal use you mix 1 tablespoon Apple Cider vinegar with a glass of water per day. I wouldn't overdo it during a fast. DSMO is a chemical. I fast to get rid of them, not insert them. MSM is found in many foods. So you might as well eat real food. Probably healthier as well. Iodine removes metals an chemicals. But 1 to 3 drops per day in a liter water is eriough Best is to let your body heal itself without interfering too much. Water helps to remove the toxins by urinating. Otherwise they can leave from the skin or give you a headache. And after the fast start eating light with a broth, banana, tea, toast. The Best of Luck on your journey.

I got headache on day 3 and 4 (today is day 6)... additional, I noted a strong craving for raw onions and feta cheese on day 4 and yesterday, so I did eat a little raw onions. There is something to this. The daily guideline we have been given were, I believe (from memory, this was discussed in the book 'Big Fat Lie' by Nina Tcheiholz) based on the average of something like 60 people, of roughly the same age and body type. They were observed, and the dietary guidelines based on what these people needed. In other words, a bit of a guess. What I am saying is I think you are right, in that the amount of food we need to survive and thrive is probably much less than what we have been led to believe.

@Tafari I And the non religious people you refer to fasted because fasting tradition has been passed on by religions, as has much that has benefited modern mankind. It's sad that many people today have little insight into the heritage of civilization and the central role religion played in that. As for the flesh being the same, you don't know what you are talking about. Moses and Jesus fasted completely from water and food for 40 days and nights. If you think that is achievable by others, go and try. But write a will first.

  • @helicart

    @helicart

@Tafari I Where's your evidence non religious people existed throughout history? You won't find any, because non religious communities did not thrive, nor learn languages and writing and making of books. Why do you think Homosapien Neanderthals buried their dead 75,000 years ago? Why do you think Australian Aboriginals cremated their dead 40,000 years ago? Why do you think later Neanderthals were buried with utilitarian relics? Why do you think the Egyptian Pyramids and Stonehenge were built? Without exception, every significant enduring community of humans had religious beliefs and customs. American Indians, Indian Indians, Indonesians, Tribes in the Amazon, early Koreans.....wherever you go, enduring communities have believed in supernatural God or Gods, and have passed on their cultural wisdom through religious ceremony and custom....which includes fasting. It is testament to the subversive influence of atheistic forces today, that people such as yourself are so patently ignorant about history. You must be very young, and very naive. Show me your evidence anyone on the internet, who says they fasted from all food and fluid for 40 days, is telling the truth. Go tell your doctor you intend to do this, and I bet he gets you certified mentally ill.

As soon as I got back I weighed myself and only gained a pound! My metabolism is changing. I just completed a 48 hour fast and think I'll go longer once a season. I'm seeing great benefits and my body shape is changing. I don't need to lose weight, I'm doing this for longevity and health. Fascinating, wish I had found it years ago. Just wanted to add, I can do the 16:8 method that some call a type of fasting.

Dr. Goldhamer is a genius. I had the pleasure of recently attending the True North Health Centre and hearing him speak in person. I completed a 14 day water only fast, followed by a whole plant food diet free of added salt, oil and sugar, and it has been life changing. I’m so grateful to him. He’s passionate committed, and hilarious at the same time!

Start slowly please. A long fast is like a marathon. You should at least jog around the block a few times. Start with a 16 hour fast one week then next week 20 hours.....till you can do a 3 day fast. Consider finding a binder for toxins too. Diatomaceous earth, charcoal, bentonite clay. To remove toxins safely.

I did a water and juice fast for 40 days while in Ministry school to be delivered from evil in my heart and FOR healing in my body. Afterwards I saw things beyond the natural eyes. I felt the best I'd ever felt In my life. Also, I had a 5 pound fibroid that the Dr told me to remove it I would need a colostomy, blood, and surgery would be 4 hrs because not only did I have that Hugh fibroid but 13 smaller ones. I told the Dr sorry but I'm not receiving any of those diagnosis. Day of surgery I asked her to let me pray for her hands and she allowed me After surgery my Dr and students came toy room puzzled. She said well when I went in there was only 1 fibroid the other 13 were all attached to the large fibroid...(Dr sent me the picture, I still have it)....she said you didn't need blood and no colostomy. Surgery was only an hour and 30 minutes because it was only 1 fibroid. I KNOW MY FASTING HELP MANIFEST THAT MIRACLE .... lastly the fibroids was so pretty and red. I didn't want surgery and kept believing for the fibroid to strink but Most High obviously had to humble some Doctors that day to show them that He has the last say so. I did a 30 day fast, drinking water only if I got bored or thirsty. Everyone was scared to death for me. If i ever did a long fast again it would be at True North. It was so lonely being in my room all that time because if i left my room everyone would beg me to stop. The biggest thing I learned is that I was eating a lot out of boredom.

You can do it! It takes extra discipline. If you need salt, drink a little pickle juice or or olive juice or Himalayan salt water. Discipline is determination! Let your own body do the work!
