Indus river should be a part of India as our history is based on Indus valley civilization btw if India Blocks the Rivers of Pakistan than might be China block Brahmaputra river by their dams .. So it would be better that Pak and India should share water in percentage by means of our needs and population density !! Btw You must see video Abhi and Niyu to understand more on these Hope so the issue resolve and each one gets what is righteous.

If the Indus water treaty is successful since last 63 years that means it is one sided in favour of Pakistan. Pakistan did not follow any rules of treaty during 1965, 1971 & 1999 aggression on India. Pakistan did not follow the Shimla agreement of 1971 that states that Kashmir will be resolved bi-laterally and blatantly send Jihadist into Kashmir and is directly responsible of Mumbai and many terrorist attack on other parts of India. There is no need for one sided Pakistan biased Indus water treaty, that gives 80 % of the waters to Pakistan in-spite of Internationally agreed rule of 40% water to upper riparian states.

India has been violating all the rules and since partition, even Partition of India they did a lot of violence of Partition rules by giving Muslim majority states, provinces and districts to India where still Muslims are demanding Free Kashmir and and other are facing Hindutva terrorism in Assam Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. And then Indus Water treaty is being violated since many years and PAKISTAN isn't doing anything at all against the violation of this treaty. It's time to step up and take strong action against India about not only this violation but also for Kashmiri Muslims according to the UN resolutions, If United States can't do anything for this then China and Pakistan should mutually do this.

Ok in Pakistan even the current affairs are half baked. Just Google and read the IWT article by article. Then you'll get a better view and understand the both side's concerns. Funniest part is when you said about war and that's of nuclear war😆 Let me give you some insights 1. According to IWT, India has rights to construct run-of-river hydroelectric projects. 2. This run-of-river hydel is allowed on Western rivers i.e. Indus, jhulum & chenab. That's exactly India is doing. 3. Then comes eastern rivers like Ravi, Beas & sutlej. India has sovereign right to use these rivers unrestricted. It can both develop hydel and store water. Then comes dispute resolution mechanism by IWT: IT'S A THREE STEP (DR) MECHANISM UNDER ARTICLE-9 OF IWT. # First, disputes can be resolved by PERMANENT INDUS COMMISSION or can also be taken up by at inter govt level. # Secondly in case of unresolved questions on water sharing such as technical differences, either side can approach the WORLD BANK TO APPOINT A NEUTRAL EXPERT(NE) to come to a decision. # Thirdly if either side isn't satisfied with NE's decision or in case of disputes in the interpretation and extent of the treaty, matters can be referred to a COURT OF ARBITRATION. Let's talk about recent developments: 1. In 2015, Pakistan asked that a NE should be appointed to examine its technical objections to KISHANGANGA & RATLE HEPs. 2. But following year Pakistan unilaterally retracted this request and proposed that a COURT OF ARBITRATION should adjudicate on its objections. 3. In 2016, Pakistan went to world Bank to set up a COURT of arbitration. 4. But India didn't respond to pakistan's request for a COA and moved a separate application asking for the appointment of a NE. 5. India had argued that pakistan's request for COA violated the graded mechanism of dispute resolution in the treaty. 6. In 2022, world Bank decided to resume the process of appointing a NE and a chairman for the COA. 7. So this recent judgement by COA carries no weight as India has never been a party to this COA process from beginning. As conclusion I can say 1. This era is different from 1960 when the treaty is signed. So IWT should incorporate mechanisms that allow flexibility to changes in the quantity of water available for allocation among the parties. Because climate change is a reality and it's altering the form, intensity and timing of precipitation and runoff. So Pakistan should keep in mind that this fixed allocation amount doesn't hold true after 63-64 years. 2. You've to agree that Pakistan has violated the graded mechanism. Whatever may the result but violating mechanism you're already violating the treaty. So stop foul play. 3. As a upper riparian country India has abided by the treaty as a responsible country. Although having a upper hand and having seen how Pakistan has violated other treaties like SHIMLA AGREEMENT, LAHORE DECLARATION, AGRA SUMMIT and KARACHI AGREEMENT, India hasn't violated and stand dedicate to this IWT. This is for India that the Indus Water Treaty Has been successful. So as a teacher at least try to understand the matter and stop behaving like a Pakistani politician. It amazes me how you talk about nuclear war. Really 😂 in 1999 when you attacked India and India Fu** you up still India followed IWT. Then also you've nuclear weapons why didn't you use them then. I don't want to say this but you Pakistanis always make yourself look like a clown. Ok just read don't spread hate.
