The Important Role of Megiddo in the End Times | Episode 8 - Season 1 | The Holy Land

Megiddo is a city built for war because of its strategic location in the ancient world. From the first physical battle recorded in the fifteenth century BC to spiritual debates of today surrounding Armageddon, war is a constant theme. Join Dr. Jack Beck at Megiddo as he provides fascinating stories about the various battles that have been fought in this much-talked-about location. Although there are varying opinions on the book of Revelation and how the world will eventually end, Jack reminds us that God has the victory and He makes all things new (Revelation 21:5).
00:00 - An Introduction to the Jezreel Valley
01:34 - Why the location of Megiddo as the final battlefield in Revelation is so strategic.
02:47 - Visit the ancient site of Megiddo
04:11 - King Josiah's battle against Egypt
05:05 - Understanding the book of Revelation
06:15 - Two powerful insights to takeaway from the book of Revelation

    I was there in 2017 & 2018... felt awestruck each time looking down at what will be part of prophecy. I enjoyed the way this short documentary is presented, thank you! And love the ending words "...the victory is known from the beginning of the battle, I hear the distant triumph song even as I sit here, knowing that in the end the Kingdom of God will overcome the kingdoms of this world" Maranatha!!

    Our Daily Bread excellent video! Would you possibly allow me to use silent portions of this video in a series I’m doing on the history of Megiddo, I’m actually hosting Dr. Eric Cline who has actually been excavating there for years and also served as co director. I’d happily provide attribution and I thank you for your time.

    The reason why we have different understanding, interpretations is because we have a different witness of God. I wanted to see the valley of Hammon-gog because I am in Ezekiel 39. I wanted to see what it looked like now, and came here. I am constantly reminded of His sacrifice. I have watched different videos, the people doing the videos are just so noisey in fight mode, where I am not that. It makes you want to go Shush, stop being so noisey. Its wonderful having my witness at times, but it also means I have no one to talk to about it. At the moment not one can be trusted, because they rob you of your life and witness. Its awful. But being alone with Christ, I can live Him without anyone trying to dominate and oppress me. I can have reality, and the reality is, this place is resting as am I, as is Jesus resting. Already had the tribulation, I am tribulated out. He rested His 7th day. I am grateful to see this place and its resting. Thankyou.

    They thought the Savior Messiah would be a warrior king and put down the Romans. They were quite wrong. I was taught in theology that Revelation was written for the people of that day and time and that they believed they were in the end times. I was taught they believed that Nero was an antichrist and that they would be freed from the Romans.

  • @kimfleury

    @kimfleury

    2 жыл бұрын

    I had heard that interpretation as well. Unfortunately it's an interpretation that comes from Modernist Theology - which is a philosophical view that God doesn't really exist but humans evolved to need spiritual comfort and religious rituals. Many Christians were duped into embracing its wiles. If you read the ancient Christian writers, or more realistically for most of us (whose time is occupied with earning a living), if you take lessons from scholars who study those early Christian authors, you'll find that the first Christians knew that Nero, and Diocletian, and other Roman Emperors were *types* of the antichrist, but that the actual Antichrist referred to in the Book of Revelation will be far worse than anyone that we've yet seen -- even worse than Stalin, Hitler, and Mao Tze Dung, who were far worse than the most bloodthirsty Roman Emperors. The early Christians might not have been able to imagine it any more than we can, but intellectually they knew it. They also knew that the End Times began with the Resurrection. They didn't expect Jesus to literally come back immediately, say within a couple years, to overthrow the Romans. Today, Modernists point to Jesus' assurance that "this generation shall not pass before all these things happen" to mean that He gave His followers the false impression that He was coming back before the youngest of them had died. However, they understood that the generation of Noah lasted from Adam to the Flood, and that the generation of Abraham lasted from Abraham to the coming of the Messiah. They understood that they were in the generation of the Messiah's presence among us, and that their generation was separate from the generation of the End Times, albeit with some overlap. Modernists want to paint the people of times past as ignorant and superstitious. That's a Marxist tactic, so beware. Any time you see the ancient people portrayed as naive and gullible, it should raise a red flag in your brain.

    @@ENTERTAININGVIDEOS1 it wasn't created, it's the difference in understanding between mathematical logic and Divinity. Mathematically 1+1+1=1 doesn't make sense. Divinity or Godliness don't make sense, the make everything cryptic for you to understand the parables. If you can't understand that then you are grazing the surface and not fully digging deep into finding God. If you don't search for God he'll hide from you. God doesn't make sense because he make science not make sense. That is why he can walk on water, raise the dead, turn water into wine, Heal hopeless cases, feed 5000 people with just 2 Fish and 5 loaves of bread - all these don't make sense because God is not subjected to the Laws of this realm.

    Josiah was a good king, but he loss his life because he fought against the Egyptians whom the Lord had directed to go fight against Babylon. The Egyptian won the battle and made Israel a vassal state. You stated Will evil always overcome good really gives the wrong message. As Judah and Samaria were keep doing evil and shortly after this battle Babylon besieged for 3 years thereby taking the chosen captive. The Lord used the Egyptians they are not evil.

    I am not so sure that revaluation isn't going to happen very soon. Peace to Israel.
