The HUION 2020 Kamvas 22 Plus | 6 month later : Still Worth It 🤔🤔

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

At this point, I felt that enough time had passed for me to give you all an update on the The HUION 2020 Kamvas 22 Plus drawing tablet. It's still going strong and I've used it in tandem with my Ipad pro. I've been working on larger, more intensive projects, and because I have to sit down, I have the Kamvas 22 to use.
Hope this gives you more ideas on how to fight art block.

CONCLUSION !
This is a great tablet. It’s worth the $600 I put into it and I’m happy with the purchase and you will be as well….. As long as you know what you want out of this tablet.
For me, I wanted some much needed improvements like a better feeling screen, more interactive capabilities, a shorter pen, and LESS CABLES.

@@Vivid_art_visions_art I actually had a problem with that exact same thing for my tablet and I put it in the tablet review. The main thing that I ended up having to do was to uninstall the Wacom drivers and huion drivers and make sure that the huion drivers were fully up-to-date. After that you may have to play with the pin Touch settings for your tablet for a few minutes. If I had kept that whole situation in the video my review would have been 4 plus hours long. That Parallax issue is so ridiculous when it comes to a lot of pallet and I have no idea how the situation starts in the first place

I have had this tablet for a few months now. Had the same issue with colours initially. I use it with my Mac mini. I tweaked the colours with no idea what I’m doing until unthinkable it looked good. I’d like to emphasise that I already had a 16“ Wacom cintiq (normal HD version) and the 22plus blows it out of the water. Also while the Huion pen is not as good as the pro pen 2 it is extremely close and if Huion would just take out a pen with the eraser end that would make all the difference. I also use it with windows as a main monitor for work as it’s huge. Highly satisfied with my purchase. I’m now selling my cintiq and pondering what to do about a second screen. Also to address the shortcut key issue you had, I bought their KD100 shortcut key remote abs love it. Undo set to one button. Huion are doing really well in innovation. Prices are starting to creep up which I hope is not going to be a bad sign in the future. Wacom basically stripped out features of their units to create „affordable“ ones whereas Huion is providing high spec at lower prices. One of their highest price models is the 24“ 4K screen. If you are a 2D Illustrator like me (not my day job), then you really don’t need 4K but parallax is a pain even if slight on the cintiq 16 whereas i don’t see any on the Huion. Great review thanks

Glad you like the video. I absolutely agree with everything you've said thus far. I feel that I need to change part of my review to say " if you're having color issues or saturation issues is play with it until you get it right" 😂😂 I also agree that if huion would make a and with an eraser on the end similar to how Wacom of makes theirs., it would definitely be a game-changer. While I never really recommend selling any of your tablets. If you do decide to make sure it is a little bit above the price that you pay for it initially and then allow people to bid for it. I'm only saying that because I'm missing that a lot of eBay lately whenever I look for a new camera gear. Honestly I'm not even sure if I would ever need a 4K drawing tablet even if I were to only use it as a second screen. 1080p is still fine and because of all of the issues that we're having with graphics cards you still need a good graphics card to run a 4K drawing tablet even if it is just a second screen. So at this point I still believe that 4K and even 2K monitors are overrated until we get better graphics cards and our machines. Even if you have a Mac Mini, which I don't know about the graphical capabilities of, I still wouldn't recommend it. Once again I appreciate your words. 👏🏿👏🏿

My second video and its good to see artist that looks like my uncle. So I'm already a fan and here to stay. And it was good to see you use ipad. I am like two types of people in one. On one hand I didnt care anything about apple until realizing I may need one to do all the things i want in one unit which is animation 2D and 3D, children books, gaming FPS etc. On the other hand I wanted to start cheaper but at the same time wanting to start higher just to not regret. I edit prisoners stories and my job will be to create visuals and format them for presentation. Trying to take it easy on myself choosing a device even if I have to compromise gaming for the greater good to get the work out. Also i know i beat myself up on the decision to avoid the worst learning curve. If only i could afford to hire someone to just sit a ready to draw device in front me I would literally draw them into a new tax bracket.

I talked a lot about the Paradox of choice and some of my video simply because of this thing right here. There's so many products out there that do the same thing or do something slightly better than the other thing but are kind of bad in another piece of thing. And it always makes me laugh when people try to figure out which one is the best. But take your time and your search my friend and if anything, you can narrow down your search to just this tablet and the XP pen tablet that you were looking for. Hey hey., I never used any protective film on the tablet. I'm pretty sure it came with one in the Box for shipping reasons. But because the tablet has a laminated display, it makes it extremely difficult for it to have scratches. The only way that you would get scratches is that you draw extremely hard or your cat with scratch it basically😂 After all this time the only thing is that I actually have on the tablet screen is smudges. And that's honestly from me forgetting to use the smudge guard glove that comes with the tablet whenever I draw sometimes.

  • @TheArtofKAS

My many recommendations for the saturation are kind of the same as I said in another comment. I recommend you keep everything between 45 and 60 period that goes especially for the Hue and the saturation. For those two in particular you might want to play with them to get the best for you. Since you're an illustrator, you might want to have them a little higher. At the end of the day it is up to you though. Brightness 51 contrast 56 Hue 57 saturation 50-62 and color temperature at 6000k. Those are my best recommendations there but I change a lot of these every time I use my tablet just because every time I use it it's for something different. Hope that helps. 😁

Is there any color/pixel distortion due to the matte surface? I had a Kamvas 20 2019 model and could not stand the screen. Only the center of where you were looking was accurate. As the angle of view increased the matte surface began occluding the pixels to a degree distorting/ringing pixels. So there was only really 4 to 6 inches of view at any given spot that looked accurate. So it was not like a monitor where brightness/color/contrast were consistent over the entire surface.

That sounds like the worst experience you could ever have for a screen in general. I will say that it does not occur with this tablet. But that's something that I never actually noticed. When I give it some thought though, the only thing that could even be close to what you're describing is when I have my lights ain't that me and sometime the lights behind me will be aimed at the tablet and I would get glare from the light behind me onto the tablet. Because of the tablet's laminated screen, it doesn't hurt the drawing experience and all I would have to do is move the light away.

Huion scammed me. I have a 22 that won't connect and the company won't take returns. Buyer beware.

Sorry to hear that my friend, this is the first time I've ever heard of something like that though. What do you mean that it won't connect? Are the cables not compatible with the tablet? I will say though that they are hard to get in contact with when you do have a problem. I tried to get in contact with them about a replacement pen and they still haven't returned any of my messages. I got mine off of Amazon and not from the official website. Hopefully you might be able to get a refund but I don't know what your situation is fully.
