Just seen this and it's got me a bit worried! I have just got my Kamvas 24 plus the other day and intend to swap it out with my Cintiq pro 24 touch. I'll also report if I have the same pressure issue! I didn't notice it when I did a test run on my laptop. Do you have the Wacom drivers still installed on your desktop as well as Huion drivers by chance?

Let us know if you figure it out. mine ran flawlessly until the latest Windows update, and now it does the same. I don't think it's a Zbrush conflict, because it does the same thing in Clip Studio as well.

@@jmac316 It turns out I was using a Huion Tablet driver from months ago, and the windows update broke it. Though the Huion Software said I was up to date when I checked in it, I saw there was a newer version on their website, and manually updated to it yesterday. I've had zero issues since I updated.

If that happens go to preferences, tablet, there is 3 buttons there choose one is already selected, choose one of the unselected and slect back the one selected at first.

HUION, PLEASE, GET THIS MAN A 4K!

Hey, Tablet twins! I got this baby recently too, and love it! I ended up getting one of those little gamer half keyboards to go next to my tablet. You can change any key on it to anything from your regular keyboard, and even set any key up as a macro, so I have just about every multi button shortcut key pattern set to a single button press.

I have a smaller one, with buttons on the side and honestly I was so glad it worked as I could not afford a wacom. The only thing that bothers me is the stand, as you mentioned keyboard placement is an issue.

Juat put two legs on both sides to raise the tablet. I bought 3cm plastic legs (like the ones that raise the refrigerator)

Just bought the 16” that has buttons on the side and waiting for it to come in. Planning on getting a keypad to use for shortcuts, it won’t have a dial but I’ve never used one so not an issue.

Huion, XP-Pen: 2 excellent Wacom alternatives.

I bought a 22 inch Huion recently and I'm super happy with it. Might have to invest in that keypad though... My desk is tiny and I'm getting RST from reaching round the back of the screen to my laptop's keyboard. When people send me important messages on the Discord, I have to type "sry cnt type wrkin on my tablt"

Hello You dont see any differences in surface and feeling the surface by the pen tip comparing to the wacom? I've tested kamvas 22 plus and the feeling of the screen was quite different. It felt like I was drawing on a regular matte monitor screen

I wonder if they will offer a tactile 24" screen protector so that one can experience a more tactile friction feel to better emulate a pen/pencil to paper like experience.

I bought a huion kanvas 16 (2021) my first graphic tablet wtih display screen and its really cool for 3d and drawing I liked and its superlight of course wacom is good for some points but huion really good for price and weight and design it have 10 programanable button its very nice. If it will be your first screen tablet go hunion.

Thank you for the review :) I also just bought this tablet and Windows 10 Calibrate Display Color tool showing that I have a high level of gamma (I am using a laptop if it is relevant), can you check if your also getting it from windows 10 Calibrate Display Color? Unfortantly I don't have a desktop computer (or any other computer) to check that :( I just want to know if it is my computer or the tablet. Hope you can help with that :)

Wish I could try it before I buy it, just don't know if it'll make sculpting easier or not. Looks cool though.

I also like having the keyboard in front of the screen. To get it, I made a pair of legs with the 3d printer, they are like two little Xs, no more than 2,5 cm. I put them on each side of my Huion, and then, I can slide the keyboard underneath, it's one ot those thin ones. I hope that some of you will be inspired to make something similar. It works very well.

Hi Again Danny, I saw you mentione you were not able to swith between different sources, it is possible according to the manual which says..... 6. Switch between Devices Driver can support the connection to two digital drawing devices at the same time. When these devices are sharing the same Driver with the current device, users can customize the settings of the devices by switching the Driver interface to the corresponding one. PS, I did order the Huion thanks, I would recomment getting it on Amazon and save another £65 shipping.

Hi, Can live wacom and Huion drivers as the same time in one PC? I want to buy a Kamvas 24 to complement my Intuos Pro but I need to know if is possible to install both drivers without problems...

I have a Huion Kamvas Pro 16 and it had one cable coming out of it, along with USB, HDMI, etc.

I like that input lag that you put in the video while talking about input lag :)

id you or anyone have any issues with this tablet and zbrush? the pen just flat out stops responding when i try it on zbrush, i updated the drivers and it worked yesterday but now it's back to doing the same.

I had to replace my Wacom 27 QHD and got the Huion 22 Plus. I have to say that I have no plans on going back to Wacom.

Why though? People just tend to do this. And they never actually give reasons why? I have heard why they are good from 2d artists but all Danny has said here is that it takes up less space... He too doesn't really go much into why it is better.

@@razerow3391 It's not a matter of being better. The new Huions give you virtually the same drawing experience as a Wacom (Finally) at a large fraction of the cost.

i am thinking of getting a 24 inch screen tablet and this seems like a nice alterative but i wish someone would compare the way the pen feels as this is the most important factor to me. Like how dose it feel when trying to hold a line vs making a lot of quick strokes with the clay buildup brush ect.

So as I own both the Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 Touch and Kamvas 24 Plus I hopefully can answer this. Hardware wise. The Wacom pen feels every so slightly more premium in hand, I think this is down to it weighing a bit more than the Huion pen. Performance/Software wise, I honestly can't tell the difference. I have been driving a Wacom device for the past 10 years and had a Cintiq 27QHD for 3/4 years and then the Pro 24 touch for 2 years. Apart from some driver quirks with the Huion (Windows Ink on or off doesn't save with program profile settings like it does on the Wacom driver and screen mapping seems to default to my main monitor (I have 3 monitors including tablet) when I power up the PC). These things could easily be fixed in later driver revisions. So based on those things and the fact the Huion is over half the cost of a Cintiq pro 24/ pro 24 touch. then I would definitely recommend this Kamvas 24 Plus, you don't really need 4k at 24". I will caveat this opinion though with that it seems to work fine in Zbrush, Substance Painter, Photoshop and Mari. But, I haven't daily driven it for a long time yet, so I may find other quirks as I go. Also another thing to consider is Wacom's support is absolute garbage and does not come anywhere close to what it should be for the price of some of their devices!

@@mmuratboyaci I would say Brightness was comparable for the levels I use. I don't have it super bright. If you do get one I would try use novideo_srgb then colour calibrate it. That might get better results. I didn't learn about novideo_srgb until I had returned it.

Hi Danny, Thanks for this wonderful video, can I ask, are you serious about not using the Wacom now. I've just reached the state that I'm able to purchase the 24" (great they had a £200 price drop). After seeing your video I am now wondring if this is maybe not the right option. For many years Wacom has been top of the list as you know, so should I opt for saving potentially £1000 and go for the 4k 24" from huion instead, ponder ponder...

Yes I am serious about not using the wacom because I've found it too big and uncomfortable to use since day 1 and should have replaced it sooner tbh. If it were the same size I might not, but I also wouldn't be able to tell a whole lot of difference. Personally, if it means saving £1000 I would go Huion all day long.

@@DannyMac3d Oh, thats disappointing news, I still use intuos3 and nib in pen is immobile, just as drawing with normal pencil. I tried some newer tablet few years ago and couldn't get used to springiness of the nib. Maybe they can't make 8k pressure without some travel distance in the nib, intuos3 have only 1k pressure.

I have look at Huion Kamvas aaaaagges ago.... I instead went for Citiq 16... It's only 16 inch so I think 4k only matters over 20 inch. Like how on phones anything above HD is pointless as you watch 4k on 60" so why would you need 4k on 6" display? I hate merged cables... If one fails you need to replace all of them... Literally ask any retro gamer about a certain console from the old days that did something similar. can I ask what calibrator you use? I have thought about using one.

Danny,...can you test something out for me with that Huion Kamvas? Can you take the pen and try a few various brushes and create some really fast pen strokes with it? I just want to see if you get "check marks" or "fish hooks" at the beginning or end of any of the lines. If you do not have time,...I totally understand that. I have what amounts to a $1800 paperweight called the Dell Canvas 27" Display that suffered from this fish hooking making it useless for any professional work and thus I'm VERY sensitive to this pen behavior. Its a simple driver fix but Dell decided not to support the thing about 12 months after they released it! Gee Thank you Dell!

Danny, how accurate (delta e) are the colors after calibration? And how low is the black level? I wonder why reviewers pay so little attention to delta e's. Instead most just repeat the advertised color gamut percentages and say that because of that it has excellent colors. Wide gamut does not equal accurate colors.

I know a lot of this is rambling, but I wanted to put in my "2 cents" one huion/wacom/and keypads Take this with a grain of salt, due to the fact that 99.99999% of this is *my opinion* on these topics Depending on the program, i'm pretty sure you can map out certain key combinations to an independent keypad. Meaning, you don't need to necessarily invest in a "drawing/huion/wacom" keypad per se. I use clip studio, and it was a little confusing, and with my keyboard in the way of my tablet, I couldn't really do a lot on it whilst using it; and the wacom pad for $$$ wasn't an option I could afford. So, after watching a manga artist's video on her travel setup, I realized, you can actually get the same, if not a better result, just using a keypad. Though I recommend a Bluetooth or wireless keypad, a wired one is fine as well. Some drawing designed keypads are noisy, and don't match other setups, so, I HIGHLY recommend looking at keypads in general, as opposed to "drawing" one's. Hope this helps! NOTE: As a left-hander, I highly recommend getting drawing tablets with NO buttons. As a past Wacom enthusiast, Huion is a tough competitor, especially if u want more bang for your buck. Wacom tablets look....outdated, they have the ugliest and thickest screen to drawing area ratio, for usually double if not 1/3 of the price more than Huion. Huion's designs look sleek, don't overheat from my experience, and I feel as a company, have a healthier connection to their demographic of artists in terms of pricing. On buttons as a topic. Frankly, they get in the way, so a keypad is a must have. i would rather trade buttons on a screen for a keypad, than my precious drawing area being decimated by clunky buttons that eventually go unused.

it's just a shame that the keydial doesn't combo the keys, it makes no sense at all...

So sad they do better and better displays but their pens are still terrible. That´s the only reason I abandoned that brand, and now I use a Xencelabs, which I love in every sense. Can´t wait to them to release a pen display.

I just gave a Like for the 4K joke at the beginning before leaving this video again. I have no interest in the non 4K version. I'll probably get the 4K one day if there isn't even a newer version in near future.

Honestly in my opinion, the reason why Huion is so cheap is because they just copy everything that expensive companies do. Pen from Wacom, Tablet from Wacom/Microsoft, software UI design is a literal copy from Logitech... even the design language of the hardware. I thought you were using a Wacom pen, lol. If you just copy instead of putting in own development and testing time and effort, obviously you're gonna be able to sell it for cheaper, especially if all the work happens in China and is even heavily subsidised by the Chinese government. That's cool for people who can't afford more expensive tablets, and I'd never even remotely judge anybody for not being able to afford a Wacom or similar... just for me personally, it's just as shitty as art theft of illustrations and design (there's a reason why Wacom is winning the industrial design awards, not Huion), and I have some other ethical concerns, so I gotta admit it's a hard pass for me. Thanks for the review though, I liked the different angle shots you filmed for this :) 👍🏼
