Its a fair price, though. Sorry, but if you can't save up this amount of money, then you either have other worries than getting a tablet (maybe qualifying yourself for a better job or such) or you have bad spending habits and should check if you need to spend as much as you do. Third option: All the cruelty of life is placed upon you and you are the only one who actually pays for your ill mothers hospital bills. This is what you read online all the time. I actually think that this is a morale escape so we dont have to face the truth: If I have time to watch KZread and wanna draw in this time, but I dont have money.... I could work in that time to generate money. I never said that this means that s.o. is lazy, but it does.

@@chips409 Hell, I am 27 and my country's economy prevents me from buying something like this. Mostly because importing fees more than double the price, but still, no reason to feel bad for not being able to afford something like this. I spoke with a professional in the gaming industry working as art director, and she told me most professional illustrators in Japan don't use tablets with screen. Pick a cheap one and couple it with a Clipstudio Tabmate and you have all the tools you need to work professionally. Just make sure your tablet is of a similar size as your screen, otherwise your drawing area won't reflect well on the screen and you can lose a lot of accuracy in your traces. Just wish someoen had told me this very important information before I bought my first drawing tablet back in 2011... which I am still using to this day...

Wow what a nice tablet!! Huion has stepped up immensely from their humble beginnings, I can't believe it! I'm happy that these companies ( like huion, xp-tablet) were enough perseverant to pursue their tech creations for the artsy community! thanks for sharing!

This one is a HUGE step forward (it is also more accurate on the corners and borders, in cursor position, also etched glass, better lamination (very minimal parallax), better reflection handling, etc, etc), IMO. I've been digging in tablets for decades. Color range is one of my big gripes with these tablets, but this is the right step. Hoping to see this tech transferred to the 24 (1440p) models. For me, Huion is doing better in display tablets, while I prefer XP-Pen for classic pen tablets (remarkably XP-Pen Deco Pro Medium). Wacom is still superior in every way posible, but even at times when I have 3k in the bank free of debts (lol) , I can't justify 3k for a tablet, even being my main income. Am an artist, not a banker :D ).

@@franchezvibritannia7320 Of course I can :D . If you give me the money for it + a 10% for making the purchase for you. :D In all seriousness, though... While I'm disappointed about both Huion and XP-Pen pens performance compared to Wacom... I can see as a solution for low budgets to get for example The XP-PEN tablet Deco 01 V2 ( *NOT* V1. NEITHER V2. There are good reasons why I said only Deco 1 v2), at 60$ USD, I think is kind of affordable, and IMO, good to go for a non professional. Surely less accurate than any Wacom, but good to go for many users. And if you can go higher, I'd strongly recommend going for a Deco Pro Medium (never the Small), which costs 130$, or the deco 03 (84$ - 100$). I have not seen enough reviews (neither tried myself) of their new affordable tablets Deco L and Deco LW (63$ and 89$ = discounted price today in Valentine's day, 20% off). Apparently they are very accurate, with a certain new hardware feature (X3-Smart-chip), but I need to see more reviews. Notice that these are newer tablets than the ones I mentioned before, and as usual, the pen performance _could_ be a lot better. I just need to be more review material on these L and LW. That other brand, Xencelabs... They say it's quality is somewhere in between Wacom and these two (Huion and XP-Pen). But dunno, I will believe it once I test one.

It's the gamut volume only. When calibrated with an idisplay or spyder, it's only 96% sRGB. It has strong greens and reds, which go well outside the sRGB spectrum (this is where the 140% comes from), but lacks in the blues. It's glaringly obvious when compared to the blues of a 100% sRGB screen. Other than that, drawing on it is amazing.

Realy good review. I'm hunting now for a video of someone using a colorimeter to calibrate this wonderful screen. As indeed, at least with my NEC "semi-pro" it handles everything from gamma to saturation, color accuracy/white point (well, I set it for 6500K) etc. I usually won't ever set 100% brightness, BTW, I try to force it to waay lower setting (but if too low, u don't get good accuracy, sadly), as it hurts my eyesight if not... indeed, that's one of the few settings u can set (to an extent) and let the calibrator + software do its magic... I have an i1 Display Pro (one of the best colorimeters in the "cheap" range) so I guess if I don't find any vid... I'll just go all in for it and purchase it, do the calibration myself to see where we stand with it, and hopefully, make it my main tablet...

9:48 ... _Maybe_ ( I dunno) what you were experiencing was exactly that you were working (in Photoshop, "color settings", and prolly the whole Windows) in Adobe RGB, which has a richer color range, but your device/screen was merely (or barely) sRGB compliant in that, well, it couldn't show certain intense (Adobe RGB's) colors (as was not covering the tones an Adobe RGB or P3 compliant device can reach). So, when displaying in a recent iPad (P3 compliant! usually no issues with adobe rgb images) you would see the actual richer tones that were being stored in your digital file (apparently, without you even being aware of it), due to have been working in Adobe RGB profile (standard in default Photoshop's installation)...probably would have not happened if working in sRGB... you would still see the poor tones in an ipad, but those were not "out of your control": Your tones would be washed out, but exactly as you painted them!. You could also avoid the "too intense" color in the other device if forcing a final conversion to sRGB, and exporting the file so. Of course, the better situation is to be able to "see while you work" the richer gamma, and so, to work with those tones, as you would get more vibrant colors in... MANY cases. IMO what is key is to work in the color profile that a device really supports, so to not have colors that are not under your visual control, as a rich color can be a bad thing too!! If out of your control. A mainstream (tho this is improving rapidly) laptop supports often only a 50% - 70% of Adobe RGB. IMO, would be a terrible idea to work in the default Adobe RGB profile in those laptops! (if u own an Acer ConceptD then I shut up. Right now. And bow for respect) Will be a terrible idea, no matter what you do, but prolly best to work in those all the time just in sRGB. This is not the end of the world for a pro, as after all, the printing process (specially the POD print companies we (actually, the clients) all use for commissions!), the inks and paper used chosen play a *_larger_* role in all this and vary the color A LOT more, but still, the more we can do to be accurate, the fewer that discordance is gonna be. And more importantly, in the long run makes life much easier! Edit: You prove in your final comments that this tablet is quite richer in colors, as if manually have been able to match color intensities and get accurate colors (tho manually is harder to do than desirable) similar to your Asus monitors... that says _a lot_ (good) of this device. One other factor that makes people crazy (happened to me) is using a standard lighting. Yellow and warm lighting seems to be great for people with depression and all, but it makes colors warmer than it should. A 6500k (color temperature) bulb (or several) would be ideal. Not a surprise that you set a 6500k white point in your screen for best results (I set my colorimeter and software with that fixed parameter, indeed). Every standard bulb is much much warmer (like 2700k or so). Led or not.

Don’t even think for a minute Im not beliving in your words .. its just I feel relief that I didn’t pull the trigger on the 2k xp pen 24,. At least this huion 22 plus u can calibrate it .. and getting nice color representation ,...on the other side I was hovering over cintiq 22 and keep thinking. that ok they cost a lot but u buy them and they are ready to go,..maybe they are factory calibrated idk ..but gosh .. so less troubles .. :/ .. the other huion. The 24 pro 2k screen. I was watching reviews all over youtube .. seems pretty similar to xp pen 24 .. but with the caveat that its screen brightness is lower that they said on their website .. some youtubers after calibration measured 156 nits or brightness (on papers its said 220) .. compared to huion 22plus. It noticeable .. i m not saying. I would work. On full brightness 9 my cintiq companion 2 i7 I had it on half of its brightness,.. ) but what bothers me is. When. Co. Say one thing and in reality u got other thing .. .. by no means its a bad tablet to make art .. just annoyed of those little things .. after all 500 or 1000 or 1700 bucks is not something cheap .

    - EDIT: The contrast ratio in Kanvas Pro 22 Plus is 1200:1 , the 24 model is 1000:1. The latter is a good value, too, but that's quite a difference in such an important characteristic -Edit 2 : The 22 plus model pen supposedly has a response rate of 220pps, while the 24 one is 200pps (and also, perhaps so an older pen model (edit : nope, same pen)). -Edit 3: more accuracy in the 22 plus model in the cursor (no surprise, is more usable at the corners and models than the 24)... ±0.3mm(center) ±2mm(corner), versus ±0.5mm(center) ±3mm(corner)for the 24 Huion model. There could be other factors involved, though. But this should act in other aspects of the work, too. -Edit 4: Surprisingly, the power usage is lower in the 24. - The XP 24 model has not glass as the protective layer, I believe, and is reportedly worse in reflections. Is using a plastic film, and this produces slightly less clear (a bit more washed out colors, though not very noticeable, prolly not in real cases) image. - The Huion 24 model , compared to this other huion model is way les accurate in cursor position in corners. You can click more or less fine on the X to close the window in this model, but is quite more of a problem in the 24 model, according to video reviews. - The brightness is not as important as you seem it is. Only would be if you would be working in an exterior (where the lighting is all time changing, so, only fine for some landscape painting, but that's it. In a controlled lighting studio/room, you are with WAY less strong external light, which you can also modulate (as well, you can indeed avoid reflections in a glossy screen... but only to certain degree!) - This Kanvas 22 Plus is 140% sRGB while the 24 is 120% sRGB. This would not be crazily important if wasn't that is an upgrade in many other aspects, too (new panels, surely). Also as experienced artists like Mikey are telling already how they notice the difference in real life scenarios. - Right now the kanvas 22 Plus (not the others) is the better purchase vs the 24 model. And you even save money. :) I still prefer the 24 size, but that's just me. I.. would see me buying the 22 plus now, but the 24.. I'd wait till it gets an update with this tech. - The cintiq 22 has NO lamination. Quite more parallax than using any of these too. - The cintiq 22 is, after checking tests, yep, having a better calibration by default, but have been tested that after calibration with a colorimeter, the colors in the XP-Pen Pro 22E would reach a just fine level of accuracy (but after t hat, usually the contsrat ratio is lowered! It happens less with a Cintiq 22) - I can see in very fine/detailed tests that for response (lag) and maximum REAL (disregard the 8k levels announced with every tablet) pressure sensitivity is still way better in Wacom than with any alternative. I still recommend a Wacom Intuos Pro medium to photographers, specially professional photo "retouchers". They need pressure sensitivity above all (they don't really need display-tablets). For illustrators.. depends on the way every one paints or even holds the pen. - The Cintiq 22 is only 90+% sRGB. Poorer color range (the issue of not being able to see and work with certain saturated tones). Bit a huge deal for many, but still, important once yo9u get certain level of pro activity. For a student... meh, is fine sRGB, don't waste too much money there, learning to draw and paint is more important. - The cintiq 22 comes with a stand, the 16 does not (sth never happening with the alternative brands). - You don't have side buttons neither disk in the cintiq 22/16. But neither do in this huion Kanvas 22 plus. Am fine without those...I'd only miss really the disk (I change brush size often with it in my wacom xl). - If you calibrate manually this Huion 22 Plus like Mikey did, you'd be fine. If you get a colorimeter, it shall work great. I have worked for 7 years at a company as the main designer with a mainstream philips monitor. I just calibrated it (by software only!) and knew where the issues and limits were (it even had bad uniformity). - A cintiq 22 or a Kanvas 22 Plus are indeed the only display tablets (classic pen-tablets keep being amazing!! XP Deco 03, Deco Pro Medium, huion Inspiroy, Wacom Intuos Medium(M)) I'd recommend right now. Apart from a Wacom Cintiq Pro 24 (2k$ and does not come with a decent stand, lol XD...to sell u the thing apart, Apple style) with the 500$ bucks ergo stand, or 400 $ wacom arm lol (smart move : get an Ergotron arm at Amazon for half the price or less, and a dirty cheap vesa adapter (12 $ I think). Proved that works great). - Right now I would NOT recommend the 24 models from Huion or XP. And that being a total fan of the 24 inches size (not due to the pixels resolution!, but for the actual act of painting and drawing)

@@3polygons hi again :D :) .. ahh again yeah I think in very similar way ... some caveats .. hmm I had seen a 1080p 24 inch ips screen and really its a no for me .. too much big pixels I can see them from regular sitting behind desk in front of monitor like 45-50 55 cm from screen .. but at 22 inch I had to be real closer like 12 cm from screen to see pixels leds ,.. but yeah my sweet spot is 24 inch too .. (not against 27 at all tho ) at 1440p .. and yess I agree I had same inner thoughts like the huion 22 plus was the first step to see feedback from users how things are going to work with this their new tech implementation .. as far I gathered from reviews its darn good . but at same time what holds me up was this same innovation /course huion have .. it feels like you make a jump to one of teir models( I must say some of their models with the ''pro'' on the name ..) its not cheap too .. 700 750 790 u$d .. for their 22 models (last time I checked) and 899 for the 24 .. its cheap if compared to wahcom but not cheap as a stand alone product . and its way of innovating things (IM not blaming them just describing behavior ) its liek u buy one of their new stuff and in a year or so you will be like feeling dissapointed or liek u bought something that its a bummer .. coz they released the new super dupper new version with fixes ! and small or medium upgrades .. xDD but ''but'' I must say that I don't feel this will be the case with this 22 plus .. it feels like the sneak-peak of the future releases .. (as a paralelism see what xp is doing with its new 16 inch innovator edition .. regarding the pen just curious did you tried one ? I mean in real life comparing the huion pen with wacom pro pen 1 or pro pen 2 ? with some people I've been chating .. and with one friend who is an artist ( ok know feling is a subjective thing) but I can trust her .. the other folks and she .. had same similar thoughts .. seems like her kamvas 20 2019 . she desccribe the pen feeling lighter but similar in pen pressure as her old wacom intuos 3 and cintiq 13 with propen 1 .. like something around it/that so yeap nt at level of pro pen 2 ... although would be interesting to see if someone can tweak it with driver options .. and make it feels closer to pro pen 2 (?) other folks said the same .. talking with someone who had a art studio in california ..said that huion new pen feels better from previous gen and similar to wacom 2048 pen .( present in intuos 4 ,5 cintiq old 22hd 24hd not so sure to pro pen1 .. seems ''some not there yet'' in the beginning of the pen pressure curve .. like its not so harmonic ? ahh don't even know how to put it in words .. like initial pressure curve is bit rough not so well rounded in feeling like wacom's pro pen 2 but welp I didn't test it so .. its all what other's are saying :P although I can trust her friend and in tune wiht what you were saying about it . :) yeah its wired that huion has same pen on 24 pro and 22 plus but pps are different .. about other tech stuff yeah u are right .. but idk if their pen and screen would be better I don't know if those things would matter me a lot but pen feeling and behavior and closely following by display ppi and size inches . color accuracy .. its would be key points to decide .. i guess :P as a daily user of a cintiq companion 2 Im so intrigued how huion pen will perform .. wacom Cintiq 24 pro is amazing .. but everytime Im tempted to buy it (because someone throws a really tempting deal like 1400 u$d for a used one ) .. its ''fan'' to dissipate the heat .. and the pen nibs wearing down too fast .. is what keeps me away from it .. not because I cant buy pen nibs but .. ahh liek I said Im spending 1500 + on it and I still going to buy for 6 -7 years wacom pen nibs ?? aaaaahhh --_-_______________-_ u .. besides 4k and in my counrty the electricity is not cheap .. so having a 90-100 watts consuming 11 -12 hs per day .. plus the pen nibs issue !! lol it keeps me away although tempting tempting .. :3 and stands .. yess u now have to buy it separately LOL .. I thought about an ergotron arm but I preffer to make something similar to an easel to hold it and tweak it to the right position .. Im very handy with wood /woodworking xD

I have a question! Pen accuracy and parallax are both mentioned, but I rarely hear about pen tilt to accuracy. (My huion gt 156v2; that I got in part due to your review, has good accuracy, but if I hold the pen differently, or shift in my seat the cursor becomes wildly innacurate, despite countless calibrations) These newer models are often coming with tilt functions, but how is the accuracies measuring up for people that move in their seat / change how they hold a pen?

@ so, I can't speak on the XP-pen BUT I have the Cintiq 22 AND I had the Kamvas 22 plus The tilt issue, for mine, wasn't inaccurate, at all. The parallax is superior to the Cintiq 22, however using the 22 all day and night I got used to the parallax that it isn't an issue any longer, as minimal as it could be to some, it was a bit of a jump for me. The plus had.. Damn near 0 parallax.. It made drawing magnificent. However, it had that squeaky sound, which was concerning for me. And I disliked it. The colors are where this tablet had issues for me. Which is why I refunded it and paid DRASTICALLY more for the Cintiq 22.. Your blues will never EVER be blue. Ever. It's jarring to see. If you go for cyan it looks like regular blue, and the more blue you go the more it appears grey-ish and washed out, the higher you go, like cyan to green it just.. Literally goes green. You CANNOT calibrate this at all. It's frustrating to me. I wouldn't, personally, go for the Kamvas until this color issue is fixed by model improvements. If the XP Pen works for yoh with minimal color inaccuracy.. I'd say keep it. Cintiq 22 is better than the Kamvas 22 plus by a wide margin despite some caveats. The colors aren't inaccurate and are only slightly SLIGHTLY off. Cintiq 22 also feel more durable. Just would never go for the Kamvas 22 or the Plus version.

I know this video is just over 3 years old, but I do have to ask how you overcame the glaring issues with the lack of accuracy in the blue and purple color ranges? I've done everything I could, from using a calibrator, tinkering with the settings and even messing with the color effect settings with no luck at all. I've done some digging and noticed this is a wide spread issue, even one owner claiming their calibration device measured the sRGB to be nowhere near the claimed 140%. I'm honestly not even sure you still own or use this tablet anymore, but in case you do, I'd like your input.

Hey guy I was wondering if you guy could help me with an issue I am having or if you are having the same problem as me. I recently just bought the Huion Kamvas 22 and the issue that I am having is that I cannot get my pressure sensitivity to work all that well. My opacity jitter is on pen pressure with minimum 0% and my pen display setting is at its default. I try messing around with the pen display at different adjustment but it is still giving me the same problem where I would get transparency with my color and even if I press extremely hard I still do not get solid color. The only time I would get solid color is if I turn off my transfer setting in photoshop but That will cause me to not blend color well. The monitor I used before was the Gaomon PD1560 at its default setting and same setting I had for my photoshop and it works perfectly. It could be that I just need to adjust to the new monitor, but it always seem to have some sort of issue. If you guys know the issue and can help me out that would be great.
