I think that it's just the best outcome. Airy is dead, Toothpaste is free, and Liam has a new life. The worst outcome would probably be that the show will end, someone will get their wish, but their life is ruined, and Airy will bring other people. The loop will go on for eternity, with the show being slightly "better" every time as Airy better understands the computer.

Another part of ONE I love is how when Bryce is back in the real world, he just... kind of acts like a normal person (if a bit traumatized). He has a minimum wage fast-food job, and lives in a normal apartment. Nothing too out-of-the-ordinary, just... Bryce.

SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES: I like it, however I still think it’s a little overrated. It was kind of depressing to watch the main characters actively lose the challenges and not try just because they wanted to go home and it slowed down the plot. They could’ve been under the impression that losing meant dying which would encourage them to try and win, only to realize after getting eliminated they’re back home. I know that would mean we wouldn’t get to see that impactful scene where Scenty gets backpack eliminated realizing how much he’s been suffering, but other than that it may have sped things up a little. At the very least make them try to figure things out rather than sitting there and not participate, they don’t actively look for more clues until season 2 where they try to rescue scenty and the others. The ending is also incomplete. I don’t mind endings open to interpretation but too many unanswered questions were left, not just “did they escape”. But honestly I’m glad that it had an ending cause most small object shows don’t. Easily top 5 best object shows despite all I said earlier

It always bothers me when people suggest ONE as a starting place for those who want to get into object shows, since this video proves it's integral to have an established understanding of the typical format in order to fully take away the commentary, but at the same time, it makes me really happy that such a beautifully made show has been the introduction to the community for so many people and got them interested in checking out the material that inspired it. You did an excellent job covering the series here, wasn't ever expecting the coverage of an object show from T3rr0r but it's very very welcome!! I got really sick one week and watched the whole series in ~one~ sitting. It really left an impact on me, and I’m not even very well versed in object shows to begin with, but I love the idea of objects being human-like and having lives and personalities. A big thing I love about One is that Airy is such an interesting antagonist, seemingly having no malicious intent yet torturing so many people without even noticing their pain. I was dissatisfied by the ending, but realized the series left such a big impact on me because the ending was so bleak and unresolved. I’m glad people are still discussing how great it is!

Fantastic series all throught, the ending was unsatisfying but not in any good way, the problem for me isn't that the characters are trapped or that airy died by an accident, is that there was so much set up so many things that we were leading up to and absolutely nothing was done with anything, liam just tripped and lost his note, airy just fucking tripped and died buh bye. I love how BFC and ONE work in conjunction as a parody and subvertion BFC is a message about how object shows often copy each other even if on accident because they all try to make the reality show genre with objects Meanwhile ONE is a message about what you can make something unique if you put your mind into itbe it a subversion of the genre or even changing the genre of the object show, ONE goes from the usual reality show to an existentialist Sci-fi mystery series about 3 people wanting to save others

31:53 I think I've seen a lot of other unique object shows that distances itself away from the traditional object show format, and one in particular that I would really like and would like to bring your attention to is a object show named "LOVE OF THE S*N" created by Maules! (also, unlike help hotline, it's an actual object show and not just a JacknJellify inspired show) Love of the S*n's premise is about a charger block exploring a universe in which exists solely for the purpose of being a sort of waiting room (like the one in HFJONE) in between the deaths and revival of various object characters from various different dimensions across the universe (called the s*n) after he died. Although there are only one episode of LOTS at the moment (along with a few extra videos), the story so far (and characters) are very interesting and sets up an adventure that could, in my opinion, could even stand up as a cartoon show alone, with no affiliates to an object show as it is very distant from the traditional object show formula, with only two things in particular that link to it. A common aspect in various object shows is the insignificance of death. In the standard, more common object shows like as BFDI or Inanimate Insanity, death isn't really that looked upon since the hosts of each object show can just revive the characters at any time. This show takes that idea and asks, "what happens to the characters after they die before they get revived?" and explores a really fun and interesting idea. In this show, after someone has died in their universe, they get taken to a place called the s*n. It is a huge building with multiple rooms assigned to many object characters from across countless universes, these rooms being where the characters go to after death. Each room has an operator, a person who monitors said assigned character's life and also being a sort of guardian after they die, being present in their respective rooms looking after them whilst waiting for them to be recovered in their respective universes. After they have been recovered, they lose their memories of the s*n in order to prevent t he recovered patients from informing other people about it and causing panic. The show starts off with a character named Charger Block waking up in his assigned room in the s*n after he had died. In there, he meets his operator named Michael. They presents themselves as a normal pinwheel object character, but obviously, Michael isn't a normal object character so they deflecting a question regarding their name. After being dead for longer than usual, Michael informs Charger Block about the s*n, and have Charger Block explore the s*n to look for his friend (who died with him), Crown. Despite having only one episode so far, in my opinion, Love of the S*n is a really great and well animated object show that also distances itself from the traditional gameshow formula like ONE and Help Hotline, while at the same time keeping the spirit of object shows intact throughout the show (so far at least). The characters are well written as well, with a lot of good and interesting relationship between characters. It also explores the idea of secrets in the universe that are not present in the actual show (which allows for some creative theories and such regarding the show).

An object show I like is BURNER. It only has three episodes but it's really really good and I like it a lot. It doesn't follow the standard object show structure, but it doesn't try to actively break away from it either. It's just silly and comforting and friendly and unique and I like it a lot :D Also, fyi, Maules made a second episode of LOVE OF S_N! A lot of things change plot-wise because the creator forgot some things [because of how long it took to make the second episode], but it's still pretty good. [I personally like BURNER better though, sorry ^^;]

ONE is the representation of loneliness and solitarily, and what being alone for too long can do to people. Being severed from reality for too long can break a persons mind. Some disorders from being alone and isolated can make you forget about socializing, forget about empathy and emotion. You may act disorderly. You may act like nothing matters. You forget about what it was like before, what it was like to live and talk to other people. You do things that only someone crazy would do, and you forget that your actions have consequences. You forget about the value of socialization, with Airy being a perfect example of this. (and maybe Leafy from BFDI, she was stuck in Yoyleland for quite a few years..) The thing is, with ONE, still being an object show, there isn't a complete start, and no exact end. You, the viewer, get to choose what happens to the characters. ONE, after episode 18, ended. There is not a episode 19. We have no idea what is happening, where the characters are, or if someone has gone insane and has KILLED someone or something. We choose the outcome. We choose what happens. We had no impact on the actual show, but we can let our imagination take over when its all done. What if Liam killed everyone and got them into the purgatory? What if Liam made his own show and took over Airy's place? You choose. Of course, the ending may be what happens whenever a regular object show creator abandons their show. Beloved characters or not, we don't know why its over. Some cancelled shows just don't have an ending. We can't do anything about it, but try to use our own brains to continue it, or find out why it ended. Being connected to one place for too long can sever your perspective between reality and non-reality really badly. Like how Liam called Bryce "Soda Bottle". What's normal to you may be completely insane to someone else. Maybe they're crazy and you're normal, or maybe the opposite. You could become a regular person to someone who kills people for entertainment, just by being lonely. Oh, yeah, and its also how to add a fun little twist to your object show! :D (Now go hug yourself. NOW.)

For how this series takes the typical object show format of there being a competition with a prize like Inanimate Insanity, BFDI, and other object shows that do the competition format and makes into something very unique with the way that it tells this story with all the lives that have been affected all because of ONE competition. It's what really got me interested when I watched series for the first time and throughout it really kept me questioning with all the clues that were laid into solving the mystery of ONE with who Airy was and where everyone really was. I have a theory on why Liam and Bryce didn’t meet Julien in the Waiting Room. Each worlds have their own separate Waiting Room and code, and whichever entity in that world dies will go to it’s respective Waiting Room. I.e, if Charlotte were to die in Airy’s world, she would be alone in the Waiting Room. But if Liam were to die at the same time she does but back at their original world, he would be in a crowded Waiting Room, because there are others in that world that died like him. But Charlotte is not there, because they are not on the same Waiting Room. Which means that when Liam first died in, he died in the same world Julien did. Hence why he met Julien that time. But when Liam and Bryce died in their original world, they were greeted with an incredibly crowded space with other objects from their world. Another example of this is when Texty were about to send Liam and Bryce into the Waiting Room, but Bryce was sent back into the Plane, leaving Liam to be the only one. In the Waiting Room, for a small moment, you can see a Sugar Cube running away into the distance. And there is no Julien there. But when Liam travelled to Airy’s world, he almost immediately had Texty send them both back into the Waiting Room out of panic. But the kill command was initiated in Airy’s world, the same world Liam first died in. And who does he meet in the Waiting Room then? Julien. Boom, I’m pretty sure this is pretty easy to figure out but I’m just putting this here bc I’m bored.
