Just tried this, removed the pork from the pan i used to cook it up in, then heated up my chicken stock/soy milk mixture in there to deglaze and get as much of that porky flavor into the stock. Then I added a bit of unflavored gelatin to mimic that sticky silky mouthfeel of real, for hours, simmered bone broth. It was bomb.

Jeff J I took your suggestion and heated up chicken broth in pork pan I instead added coconut milk instead of soy milk because that’s all we had but damn that was so good and simple to make

What a great idea to use a little gelatin to mimic all the goodness you're supposed to get out of the bones! I never thought of that. I'm stealing this!

Rhiannon Pearl I use wholewheat tortillas now instead of a pizza base, and replace the tomato sauce with red pepper hummus.. it’s completely different than a normal pizza and it’s quick to make, crunchy and perfect for a tasty light lunch 😋
I would loveee to see a pantry video from you! I’ve been meaning to cook more asian cuisines and would think that a video like that would help many beginners like me have a good foundation to start with!

You just shaved off lots of time from my ramen routine. This semester will be productive 😊. Thank you Marion 😘
I tried it and im so amazed it's actually good. I used gochunang for the meat and a mix of tahini and peanut butter.

Very few liked your comment lmao
i made this and oh my gosh! i substituted sake with water, i also use peanut butter and this is the key to the savoryness and thickness (lil advice, the same amount of sesame seed paste like liquid same goes to the peanut butter texture, add some water not more peanut butter), i use gochujang (and yes there was still taste like gochujang typical when you eat something korean, but the longer it sits on the broth, nothing compare), and lastly i substitute chili oil with a few drops of sesame oil and chili flakes. i was craving some ramen at home and this recipe saved me. thank u!

I dont understand your "Lil advice"...so you Just ad a little bit of hot water to the peanutbutter Paste so it disolves better With the soup later?
I’m so glad I came across this recipe. Making this inspired me to finally makes KZread for all my cooking adventures. I took the advice from someone in the comments to use coconut milk and I loved how it turned out!

@Dark of the knight i mean it is Japanese ramen. But it's a take on Sichuan Dan Dan style noodle which is why it uses Sichuan chilli paste. I don't know who made you ramen king to tell what's ramen or not. Also, you're a dick if you didn't pay.

Just tried this recipe out tonight and it was a hit. Had to sub out certain things, but the essence of the recipe was felt and it was delicious! I am amazed at the depth of the broth without having to spend hours on it. Thanks for making ramen so much easier, Marion!
this is my favorite ramen and i have to drive far to get it when i'm craving it..now i can make it at home!! thank you!
“A joyful looking bowl!” Indeed! This would be great for meal prep. The paste and pork could be made ahead. Even the eggs. At serving time, heat the broth, cook the noodles, steam the greens right in with the noodles. Voila!

Tried it and loved it! :)
I've been doing this recently: Bought a 1kg bag of dashi, miso paste and wakame... (Off eBay) So 1. Pork belly (200g) with bbq sauce in the oven for 1 and a half hours at 150°C fan oven, add honey 5 min before done. (from Waitrose, 200g is all you need for 2 and 600g is £11) 2. An hour into cooking the pork start preparing the other stuff: Start with broth, add 2 spoonfuls of dashi (tablespoons) add miso to taste leave on medium heat in a sauce pan. Add wakame to the broth (rehydrate first). 3. Sautee squid with 1/8 stick of butter, olive oil, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper, medium heat 5-6 min. (Squid from waitrose again, 12 for £6, only need 3 per 2 people) 4. Egg boiled 7 1/2 min. 5. Remove egg (put in ice water for 1/2 min to a min) and boil egg noodles 6. Honey on pork (take out pork when hour and 1/2 time is up) 7. Remove wakame from broth 8. Put in Pak Choi into broth for a couple of min 9. Put everything together, add sesame oil, saracha sauce and spring onions it's awesome!! Sesame oil and saracha sauce does wonders and really brings out the flavors!
Great video about Ramen!😊🇯🇵🌸

I tried your recipe yesterday and its really yummy. Thank you for sharing this recipe! 👍👏😋
This soup looks and sounds amazing, and the fact that it doesn't take hours of prep has me very intrigued (Thank you, Goddess Marion!). But could you please speak to your choice of noodles? Those shown in the video are obviously not the 29-cent Maruchan-brand brick of oh-so-unhealthy ramen noodles we're used to seeing in local supermarkets. What brand are you using, and what should we be looking for in U.S. markets to achieve the same texture and flavor to which you're accustomed? Thanx again, and please know we're eagerly awaiting the arrival of the newest member of the Grasby tribe!
I made this today except I used peanut butter and added mushrooms too and OH MY! So good and so filling. Definitely will be making it again in the future
This is easily one of my fave recipes. And so easy to make. Had this twice in a day. It’s that good! Probably going to make it again today lol
I recently wanted to make tantanmen but couldn't find a nice and clear recipe here on youtube. I was hoping you would make one, and 2 days later, there it is! Thank you ^^
Just made this, it was so tasty! The chilli in it is perfect. Only thing is, I overheated the broth and the soy milk split, but the taste was still good.

The dish that you’re looking for that inspired this ramen is the Chinese dish Dan Dan Noodles, which you’ll immediately notice the similarities when you eat it. Even the key ingredient sesame sauce is a Chinese ingredient and used in many Chinese dishes.

Made this for dinner and it was so delicious!!!!! 😍 One thing tho, I think the measurements for the sesame paste/peanut butter is wrong? I ended up having to use 3 times as much as the suggested measurement to get the same consistency as you
Thanks for the recipe, I'll definetly try it. Greetings from Spain!!!
I just made it and it was good!! My husband & son loved it!!
