What makes this channel stand out over other cooking channels for me is how accessible Aaron makes his recipes for the average, everyday home cook. Many recipes require harder to obtain ingredients which puts most people off even trying to replicate his dishes but Aaron (almost) always will suggest much more practical and obtainable alternatives which always result in delicious looking food and Claires reviews are testament to their quality.

I wish Aaron was around when I was just learning how to cook. This guy is just so good for people starting to learn. This is actually a pretty complicated dish for a new chef to make, but Aaron does a great job at guiding people, and encouraging them to do their best. I also really appreciate how accessible he makes his recipes.

In the meantime, look up some easy onsen tamago (hot spring egg) recipes. They’re very simple, requiring precision mainly in the volume of hot and cold water for the specified number of eggs. You can remove some uncertainty around the temperature of the cold water by finding a recipe that calls for adding actual ice water. Or room-temperature water that has been allowed to stand. Or by using a thermometer.
