@@robertcarroll6333 yeah but a true beneficiary is different.. look many companies can be taken over by others. The way I think it went down is like how my family sold their bakery off to nestle it's quite easy. So basically a lot of the time of an insider wants to take over a company they can start negotiations work up the latter etc. Many times when you hire someone of such nature they try to get an executive decision. Then they can make a decision as to if it's for the greater good of the company to sell etc to another. The way I think it went down was that all major aspects in the company sides with the other guy and put pressure for him to sell or transfer ownership. He should still be making money from the company. So it's not exactly that bad.

After surving all those trials, knowing that the business was taken from under the family by that snake who betrayed them was hard to hear :(

He, the non-Vuitton himself. choose to collab with MH. Then get Ben to play/control MH. He himself got screwed. In a way, MH too, coz Ben came out tops. Don't feel sorry for LV. They forced a lot of smaller companies to go under their banner. Like Luxottica. Also, LV ate good food bcoz you paid 5k for a bag.

The beginning success of this company was awesome and it made me root for them, but when the family lost the business and Bernard took over, the family built company connection was lost and I kinda hope it falls off soon. Sneaking behind the owners back to get majority stake is scummy and I don’t respect that type of hustle.

Without Arnault, there would be no LV as you know it, the remaining family were idiots who were stuck in a direction who did not work, it was forgotten, he’s the real visionary in that story.

I think it’s very sad what they’ve become. If I ever had the money to buy their product, I wouldn’t.

Wrong. Running water was pretty standard by then and there was plumbing. Plumbing was indeed an integral part of the redesign of Paris by Napoleon and there was water being supplied on tap. So LV was living in the backwaters as a child on the farm and they would have had either a well or been near a natural stream or spring.

Benjamin Franklin is credited with finding it in BUT if you look up and read about the Baghdad battery there was a pot believed to be from around 224-660 outdating Ben Franklins findings by over 1000 years. The battery used a copper tube, an electrolyte, and an iron rod which is now known to create electricity. This was repeated on mythbusters and they were able to achieve 4 volts (when putting multiple in series) of electricity when using Lemon juice as an electrolyte.

Honestly I probably won't buy any designer bags; I got too many damn pets at home. But the fact the actual Louis Vitton worked his way up the hard ladder to start the original company is inspiring, and the fact he made sure people trained 18 months till they were good enough to make a bag on their own really shows how much he valued quality over quantity. It's unfortunate the company ended up contracting with the Nazis, but we also have to consider without Nazi nuke tech, we wouldn't have microwaves or modern airplanes or x-rays or home computers. It's one of those things we have to weigh with our personal choices to use Nazi tech in our private homes and when traveling. Regardless of what LV company has become today, I think the original company and the actual LV man himself were admiral.

I slept in a forest during a genocide war where I almost got bombed two times by jets from 92/96, in 2015 I was homeless ever since a kid I wanted to become a car designer and open up my own car company. As with other brands, that "went public", it became mere overpriced status symbol, fortified by some ridiculous restrictions (one friend was once barred from buying all stuff she wanted at once, because they apparently have some limitations of how many products 1 person can buy per 1 day),, that is slowly losing utility value… Personally, I dislike brands and all the pricey stuff I have either display no branding at all (particularly if it was made on order), or it display my personal branding. Sometimes, it puts me in a complicated situation - like when I was in need of new glasses for when I forgot to order new contact lenses. All of them were fugly and the least fugly had HUGE logo of Emporio Armani splashed all over them… Disgusting…

They’re like most businesses. They start our making a great product, then as they grow they’re either bought out, go public and/or there’s a change of upper management. they spend more on marketing and story telling/virtue signaling and less on product. At some point they move their production facility to China, while also lowering the quality of materials. they also hire a few celebrities as brand ambassadors. That buys them a few more years until one day you see them in Ross or Marshall’s.

This story is amazing I really enjoyed the rags from Riches story. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

Brilliant video and info. Extremely sad to know that it was taken over my someone who has no connection to LV and has got no real contribution in the creation. So sad.

My mum was friend with his goddaughter. Lovely, elegant old lady ( I was in my early teens at the time, I am now 51!). She was already very old at the time but she had a spark in her eyes and hadn’t lost her femininity nor her sense of style. I remember her showing me a hand bag he had made especially for her birthday when she was a young woman. Beautiful chocolate brown thing. The most remarkable thing is that it wasn’t covered with the LV letters. Just an elegant, non assuming and high quality hand made bag. One of a kind in that respect. Nowadays a lot of people buy them so they can be seen with a designer bag. Sad. I prefer the ‘ insolence’ of luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.

If they want people to stop counterfeiting their products, they should start selling stuff normal people can afford. For example bags for under 200 usd, which is still expensive for lot of people but way cheaper than their other products.

It just goes to show that the hardest of situations are usually your greatest lessons. The journey matters , infact it's the most exciting part! 🙏

I'm not sure on modern LVMH bag, But I'd love to have a LV bag in Louis Vuitton era. Not just bc it's where it started, but the Quality seems Very Promising & worth its price.

I ran away at 13 because of similar sadness at home. I started stripping under age and have been in this business now for 23 years. Although Louis Vuitton has always been an item most strippers aspire to own I have never wanted to until now. I’m going to value this purchase now. Thank you for this video. I feel so inspired✨

If LV produces high quality goods? Yes I will totally agree BUT we can get something with the same or even better quality of goods from another not so well known brand or from private craftsmen (e.g. Handbag). What the customers pay mainly is for the brand.

They are very high quality bags but I don’t think the price is justifiable. As much as I love fashion, I could never spend that much on a bag unless it packed and carried itself. But I also would not buy a counterfeit product. I always wonder how much revenue fake items cost a company, because they are assuming those customers would purchase their bag instead of the counterfeit if it were not available.
