The Ducks are in the midst of a rebuild, likely at least a couple of years from being back in the playoffs.

I still refer to the Honda Center as "The Pond," I think that is a perfect arena nickname for a team called the Ducks

One thing I will never get is why the clippers don't play there. I really don't get the point of having 2 teams in a city if they have the same arena

Still love the alliteration aspect of "Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim"
The team that got me into hockey. Kariya and Teemue were on a whole other level
3 Rules as a Anaheim "Mighty" Ducks fan, since 1993. 1. The original logo will always be THE real one. 2. The team should be "Mighty" Ducks 3. The arena is really "The Pond". Much more original name.

Been a die-hard Ducks fan for 26 years and I really hope they go back (In some form) to having the original logo as their primary once again. Other than that, being able to say I saw my team win a cup in person is the coolest sports memory I have and I'm lucky to have been there in 07. Great video!

Perry and Getzlaf are definitely getting added to the retired number list. Hopefully Giggy gets up there soon.
"You're not skating like warriors, you''re skating like ducks!"
THG if you come down to Anaheim, seeing the new practice facility in Irvine is well worth the trip. It’s four rinks, one is Olympic sized, another is a mini stadium. It is also the home rink of figure skating gold medalist Nathan Chen. Great Park Ice.
That 2015 Ducks, man really was the best team beside the 07 Cup run. Watching that Hawks/Bolts finals, really thought at that time Ducks could had beaten those Bolts

i will always laugh at the irony of the Ducks winning the Cup the season they dropped "Mighty" from their name.
I am a Sabres fan, but I feel the 2007 Ducks had probably one of the most solid defensive teams ever. They were built for the playoffs at the time. Huge physical team. I am not saying that team would be as dominant in a bit faster game a decade and a half later, but my only way of feeling better after losing to the Sens was that I did not think the Sabres could take down the Ducks when the Sens beat them with physical play. 2006 if the Sabres got to play Edmonton I feel that was more the year, but what ifs are not reality.
Home team is Boston but I’ve always loved the ducks. Selanne is my favorite player of all time. I’ve kept up with the ducks ever since then. Thanks for doing this video. Loved every second of it

Awards History: Art Ross: None Bill Masterton: Teemu Selanne (2006) Calder: None Conn Smythe: Jean-Sebastien Giguere (2003) + Scott Niedermayer (2007) Frank J. Selke: None Hart Memorial: Corey Perry (2011) Jack Adams: None James Norris: None King Clancy Memorial: None Lady Bing: Paul Kariya (1996/1997) Lester B. CORRECTION: 2006 was a conference final run. They defeated Calgary in 7 and Colorado in 4 before losing to Edmonton.
Can't believe Fowler has that many games. Especially considering he was on the receiving end of a dirty knee check from Giordano and dirty hit by Jarett Stoll that took him out for about half a season in each case.
Bear the Cat keeps trying to get a cat-nap ... "and he's always talking hockey!"
Josh Manson 6th rnd 160th pretty darn good pick you might have missed as a steal.
Live in Toronto but have been a Ducks fan since Paul Kariya’s rookie season. Love this team and can’t wait to see them continue to improve this season.
Woah, never would've guessed Sean Hill as the guy who scored their first goal. And that is a name I haven't heard in a loooooong time.
My favorite team since 2000! Thank you THG for all the content you put out!
As a Ducks fan.. I thank you !!!
When Selanne-Kariya came flying over the blue line at speed it was lethal. You should do a best combos of all time...if you haven't all ready.
Selanne was a worthy opponent. When he announced his retirement in 2014 the Kings honored him at his final regular season appearance at Staples Center. The Kings and Ducks played in the 2nd round that year as well of course.
Everyone wants the original logo back as well as i do..I don’t hate the Webbed D. It just makes for a great secondary logo & it looks better on the shoulders than it does as the main crest.
Ducks Fly Together! Quack Quack Quack!
Anaheim didn’t draft him, but I became a big fan of Sammy Pahlsson after his coming out party during the 2007 Cup run. I always liked PA Parenteau as well and thought he may have been a little underrated. 🦆
Saw them in December, their future’s so bright, they gotta wear shades 😎
With a name like Fowler, he was meant to be a lifelong Duck.
Always interesting to see these history videos of teams! 👍 Thank you THG! 👋
Amazing video as always! Ducks fly together!
Thank you for this video. As always love your content and humor! Take care and good luck!
I've been looking forward to this one!
Thanks Shannon for the video!
Those 4 years in row losing in game seven was so frustrating. Leafs fans would understand (however Ducks atleast made it to the conference final). Especially in 2015 there was a very strong team that should have won it. They pushed Chicago at the brink, but couldnt finish it. Even Tampa in the final wasn't that much of a threat for them that year.
I’m really interested in the next steps for this team. I hope they offer sheet Robertson and get him away from Dallas. One step closer to get the rebuild finished earlier than the 2027 you threw out there.
Just as I finish watching your previous video, up pops another!
Gonna miss Getzlaf.

I thought Emilio Estevez was their coach at the beginning...... lol
That 2007 Cup Team was STACKED. Only thing missing was "The Mighty".
As much as I hate Ducks for 07, I'm happy for the players on that Ducks team. At first I was not high on the new logos but you kind of got used to it.
THG thanks for the reminder of those consecutive game 7 losses, guess its back to therapy an a pillow to cry in....
Roses are red, Violets are blue, Boudreau chokes on that game 7 bbq. At various points like the mid 2010s I thought they could of gotten 2nd cup some very good teams. They’re going to be fun when they get back into playoffs
I was a the draft where Cam Fowler was drafted.... YOU feel old!!??
QUACK!
Vatanen and Manson were great late round draft picks too.
Great vid
Josh Manson was selected in the sixth round so he is a draft steal
Now that is a giant board-sheesh!!!
Would love to see the Ducks embrace the eggplant again, not the half assed reverse retro one either, embrace the purple. They'd stand out so much more than just being another team that wears black.
thats so fascinating to me that you've only been to a few arenas and Honda center was one of them! I don't hear many people talk about honda center as a destination arena...doesn't have the history of others and isn't even in like a cool area lol i mean, im all about it haha but i would have thought like MSG or United Center or Bell or ones like those...Joe Louis before they closed it down

Congrats on the KZread award! I just noticed
Giguere's 35 should be the next number to retire in Honda Center. Then should go Getzlaf and then Perry in few years.
Will we ever see a Canadian University player as good as Steve Rucchin ever again?
I still want the old logo back
Now!
That 2007 team could go down as one of the better teams in NHL history. Not one series was even close. Dominated every team they played.

I agree. I think they lost to Detroit 5 to 0 in an off game, but they were a big playoff built team. Most of the time if they went up 1 to 0 you just felt they would win.

@@mbertrand I had not. I just looked it up, and I really dig it. But I was referring to the Away and Home jerseys they currently have with the slanted piping and the overall layout. Basically keep the same jersey but swap the logo out for the old Duck mask one.
