I think the Sharks are one redefining draft pick (Macklin) and a couple of years away from being good.

The Sharks have the chance to redefine the entire organization with the youth they have and will ultimately draft. Keep your chin up, from an Avs fan.

I followed sharks in the late 90's to the near end of Thornton time in SJ. The sharks have a long ways to go. They need 2 to 3 great years of draft picks.

Coture should be gone by draft... Vlassic prob would be the last core player to stay and retire a shark because nobody will take his contract. Coture can be an amazing 2nd liner or even a mid 6 guy. They going need to be patient for the next 3 years. I Didn't like the hertl deal because I feel like he is suitable to be a top 6 guy and sharks #1 guy for now...

Yeah really didn't love the Hertl trade, especially within the division.

Hertl should have stayed and couture should have went...also never understood the pavelski trade, dude is an ageless wonder...

@@DaRinkRat the Hertl trade is one that hurts emotionally (Going to Vegas of all teams) but I think it's honestly pretty good. By the time we're ready to compete again, Hertl will older and taking up a lot of cap space that we could be using to sign FAs or players that fit our growing team at the time. AND the first round pick next year is perfectly in line with growing the team in the next few years.

I am surprised they did not give more NHL time to their Russian prospects. Do you know why?

They dont have many high quality Russian prospects. Only Shakir Mukhamadulin who will probably make the team out of camp.
