rhineland is lowkey one of the best formables in expanded

You should have held off on attacking Byz because there is an event where they often give up that one Anatolian province which would allow you to then continue taking Anatolia before the Seljuks took it.

Bro eu4 mods usually don’t change core gameplay

Nicea's background is basically that an amazing general saved the Byzantines from being annihilated by Bulgaria, but the Byzantine aristocracy betrayed him and forced him into exile, so he rebelled and formed his own country with what remained of their Anatolian holdings. There's a bunch of negative events as Byzantium that occur pretty frequently until you wipe Nicea out though none as annoying as the Church Rebels event from the base game.
