Not sure why heavily armored crusaders got a horde government type, while Lithuania, the country that historically was known for its light cavalry and conquest of the Golden Horde, did not get some sort of similar horde type government but pagan

Why would they convert to pagan? They have 0 pagan provinces left at start date. That cringe stuff belongs in CK3 or alt history/historical fiction mods

Lithuania only officially became Christian in 1413 through show mass baptisms as a political move by Grand Duke Vytautas and King Jogaila to stop the endless crusades and conflict. Mindaugas, the first king of Lithuania, tried to do the same in 1251, but things didn't work out when he and others were caught still practicing paganism multiple times. Romuva should have had an option similar to that of the hussites in eu4 as a revival of the faith and breaking of treaties/mass baptisms. Romuva paganism was still quite prevalent up until the counter reformation

Laith's child-like innocence seeing Tunis and Tyrconell succeed is so adorable

When his camera stopped working it revealed a shocking truth about Laith that I was frankly unprepared for. He wasn't using his Papal influence and it had been sitting there capped out at 200. It took me more than an hour to stop vomiting and I don't know if I can ever fully recover.

To be fair, you're drowning in PI as a crusading Teu. I think I was up to 25 mercantilism from just buying that when I already had 3+ timed buffs going by the end year of this video. I would have bought stability, but you're stuck at +3 if you don't assign your Hochmeister to an army while at war.

Another note: We NEED a part 2, where you fight the Ottomans. Whether you go down through the Balkans, or do an end run through Timurids and attack them from the East... well. Wouldn't that be surprising!

21:47 it doesn't really suck, it gives +33% ON TOP of the regular 40%, so it almost doubles the effects of a regular church, also the -2 unrest is pretty huge for early game tbh

@@Carolus_ I am a bit late, but the only bad part about it is that its tax income boosts. Now, thats not always bad, but trade and production are almost always better. But if you are a tax heavy nation (cough france), its god tier.

You probably already know but there's a new achievement that requires you to form the Mongol Empire starting as the Teutons therefore I reckon you should aim at that in the next part(s).

I personally like the nerfs to manpower and limit this should hopefully stop the ai having half a million + troops in 1750 and early game just having such large manpower pools even with the highest quality army u die to just walls of bodies.

Man, I just realized Finland got a mission tree in eu4 before they got a focus tree in hoi4. Now thats either sad or hillarious and I dont know which.

I'm so mad at myself because i forgot that Teutons and Livonian Order were getting new mission trees and went and got the baltic crusader achievement last month.....would've been easier with the new missions i guess.

There is a new achievement which is form the Mongol Empire as Teutons. You can go for it.

so happy seeing you play the teutons, one of my favorite nations in Eu4. Got the achievement for them and been hoping for them to get an actual mission tree for so long! :D

Please do continue, the Ottos are going to be a great end game boss, maybe even the Timurids will give a good fight too.

26:45 dude ... that is exactly the reason why everyone always tells you to play ironman mode ... you forgot to cut your console out (I see a lot of mana and gold there) and we can literally see you using debug_mode ... like, it's fine to play the game without ironman to "debug", but simply giving you everything you need to have a stable country ?

This was a proper Laith campaign, no manpower, constant war, rebels could tear apart the country at a moment's notice

I definitely would love to see a second part. And I absolutely love to see former Poland collapsing into a stateless society, I have never seen that (I do not play EU4 myself), what happened there? How is the country set up now?

It fell to rebels so often it just gave up with the whole government thing

But what if considering all of the bonus to cav combat ability with the teuton + getting horde idea you could reform poland and get their +33% cav combat ability + new hussar unit then go aristocratoc -espionnage - quality idea (+ cossak estate) At this point I would bet on the Pols to defend against Panzer in 1945

This was extremely fun to watch

It is 12th of September, I read the description and rushed to steam only to find out the dlc isn't out just yet. Sad frog noises EDIT: I know that Leith does these vids more as a showcase over authentic ironman gameplay, which is why I appreciate the subtle yet quick snippets of showing us, if the game is ironman or not :)

To avoid the Prussian confederation you can simply just seize land twice. If you do it at the start and then once it's off cooldown you do it again, no Danzig business occurs.

Seeing you getting the achievement would be nice.

Roleplay is not picking the weakest option just picking the one that would make sense in character. To be fair much of the option are all valid for Teutonic Order.

Man, I tried Teutons and I absolutely hated it. Until I realized all I had to do, is simply not do estates until I had stopped the Prussian-confederation thing and only then start giving away crownlands. It is nearly impossible to stop the disaster if you go to zero crownlands at the start in my experience.

You should try the devastating battles mod. (and the strategic wastelands mod too) They add so much realisim and flavor to combat.

Are you sure? Because premodern battles were not devastating the loser would useually have less than 15% casualties

Well more like the opposite. Pre-modern battles generally ended in the total victory of the other side. Only in modern times we can see that when units are more flexible they are able to retreat without sustaining too heavy casualties (of course exeptions)

Please take a look at espionage as an idea group with divine ideas. Gives +40% (maybe 45% since the new patch) siege ability which is bonkers. You memed on it during the video but I actually think that religious-divine-espionage is the best idea set in the game, especially since the nerfs to offensive and quantity, along with buffs to espionage and divine.

Unless you're also counting spy network bonus, Divine-Espionage gives 30% siege. 10% from Espionage ideas and 20% from the policy. I did something similar in my game though, went Innovative, Divine, Espionage, Offensive and was regularly running around with 70-80% siege between policies, ideas, and other bonuses.
