I actually like seeing Lasha closer to his limits than playing it safe. The snatch looked almost as easy as usual, but the C&J really looked like a fight and I love it! Great to see Lashas arms shake a bit in the overhead position. Makes him look more human and relatable (almost)

The people not acknowledging Lasha before he could surpass Taranenko neglect the fact that Lasha would do a 258kg clean and jerk right after an all time world record snatch !! How much was Taranenko snatching before his clean and jerk ? The fact that Lasha is able to destroy the all time snatch record and the all time clean and jerk record in the same competition puts him on the highest pedestal ever.

This is, as always with Lasha, unbelievable. But the most amazing thing to me is that he is so unbelievably powerful and athletic that he was able to get off balance with 496lbs moving rapidly above his head, and yet still stop the momentum, correct the trajectory and successfully finish the snatch. The lift itself is so far beyond anyone else at this point, but to still be able to hit it like that, just another level of extraordinary!

If anyone is ever going to hit a total of 500kg, it can only be Lasha.

Unreal content guys 🙏🏼 will be buying some WH home gym stuff when back in the uk! I wonder if Lasha is going the Sergei Bubka route of breaking his own records marginally every time (Sergei broke his own pole vault world records 35 times). Anyone know how much you get paid for breaking a world record out of interest? Regardless, Lasha is a legend and is nearly carrying the whole sport on his (extremely large) shoulders #goat
