It is so frustrating that “500” has taken over the narrative of Lasha for so many. It tends to undercut and distract from the absurd greatness he’s already achieved. 225 snatch, 267 c&j in competition???? Lalayan and Minasyian are not even close to him when healthy! Not close! They couldn’t even beat him injured! Nobody in history has ever come close to doing what he’s already done. So, let’s focus on that, focus on edging up those records, and quit acting like 500 in competition is a reasonable expectation when he’s already taken the sport to a level never imagined. Just my opinion.

Exactly, Usain Bolt vibes now from Lasha, he knows injuries have taken a little bit from him and that peak is not coming back, but your so far ahead of the competition that you can still dominate, most important thing now is to get those Olympic and WC Golds Like Bolt, Lashas records will stand for a very long time

It could very well be that we're seeing the limit of human potential as far as Olympic Weightlifting goes. It had to happen eventually. Now I'm really talking about the limit of Lasha's potential here. Let's face it . . He's weighing well over 400 pounds now and is getting injured more frequently now as well. When I was competing, I found that once I reached what I thought must be my limits in each lift, I was able to maintain that level of strength by forcing myself to get bigger. So the lifts that I once could lift in the 100kg class, I now had to do in the 110kg class, then as I aged I had to lift as a 125kg lifter just to do what was once possible for me as a 100kg lifter. Also by that time I was over the hill in terms of my age as well. I was in my early 30s in the 100kg class, whereas in the 125kg class I was in my very late 40s. Lasha, it seems, has also gone that way in terms of bodyweight. He's still a relatively young man, about to turn 30. Technically speaking he should be just about to hit his prime as a strength athlete. But with his, and every other lifter on the world stage's use of PEDs, that may not be the case. Let's not forget how long ago it was when Leonid Taranenko was on top in weightlifting and how far ahead he was compared to the rest of the pack. That was before drug testing too. It's taken this long, over 30 years, for the lifters who have to contend with the drug tests to catch Leo up. And it might just be that Lasha has hit the wall in terms of what's possible for him. And notice that he's only a couple of kilos ahead of Leonid. I hate to say this, being such a devoted fan of Lasha, but it just might take a more genetically gifted lifter than him to break through that 500kg total barrier. What must really be biting him is how tantalisingly close he came to being the one to snatch 227.5 and Clean & Jerk 272.5 just a year or more ago, and how those numbers are slipping from his grasp, millimeter by millimeter. I think: if he took a year away from competition and trained consistently without having to peak multiple times throughout that year, then he just might be able to come back and make those lifts. But what about his rivals? With Lasha out of contention for a year or more, I'd bet the ranch on them really being able to forge ahead and maybe even do those magic numbers without having to worry about Lasha always being the spoiler. Boy, do we live in interesting times or what?!

Seems like a lot of what he said wasn't fully translated. The question about advice for lifters for example. Maybe its difficult to translate rather than just summarize "love what you do" but i think these are the most important things to translate fully because you get insight into how a person really thinks and how they vocalize their motivations.
