Hey guys. Checking back in after a couple of years. There is now a potential cure for FIP it seems. It is a drug called GS441. It seems to not be easy to get your hands on however. two days ago our baby cat left this world in my arms, my boyfriend did not had the opportunity to say goodbye, if not a quick look before going to work, at times I do not feel I can survive this pain .. when you talk abt the deep relationship you built even if there were “just” some months we can understand you...it is the third time that I listen to your story, in some way it’s helping a lot.. your faces and your tears could be ours .. We do not find peace, only loneliness. I’m grateful for your words.. i hope our beloved babycats r playing all around our places.. just want to feel his soul somewhere. A deep hug.

I'm sorry about your loss we just lost mine big FIP

I feel so guilty on top of my grief. My Oscar was 2 years old, I had raised him since kittenhood. I put him down the day he received his FIP diagnosis because the vet said there were no cures and it was 100% fatal. He already had fluid in his abdomen and wouldn’t eat. I only found out after I put him down that underground treatments for FIP existed. I feel like a terrible mom , I put my baby down without even researching it. My baby is dead because of me and I feel so guilty. I feel like there was something I could’ve done, he was so young, I feel like I didn’t have enough time with him and I miss him so much every day. I can barely even think about him without bursting out crying.

So hard to watch :( Pet owners will understand the pain it's the worst. No more suffering now condolences to you both ❤

My cat was 1 year and 3 months old. he was so precious and had just died due to being diagnosed with FIP. I am devastated😭 he stopped eating and gave up hope completely and stopped trying to fight the water in his body, until it filled up to his lungs and killed him. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know how to stop feeling the way I feel right now. he went to his favorite spot when he died, it was a staircase that had a window next to it, he was staring at the window and I didn’t think much of it. I went to my bedroom then again went to check on him. I saw him laying down (still alive) taking a very deep last breath and that’s when I knew. I’m 15 so I couldn’t handle it. I just ran straight to my room cause I just knew it was his last and sobbed and I am still sobbing till this moment. it’s been about 9-10 hours. Idk what to do😭🥺🥺

Hey man, I’m going through the same thing right now.. I know how you feel, I can’t do anything about it and it just breaks my heart, to see a little kitten suffer like that hurts me so much. But all I know right now is that they are in heaven watching over us, living the better life. My kitten is sleeping right now and it can barely stand up. I just pray and hope everything will be okay. All we need to do is move on.

Muaz Islam at least they are at peace now and aren’t suffering💞 the thing is my vet never told me it was incurable and that my cat was suffering. I would’ve put him down cause he was just so weak and skinny for FIP, he couldn’t even try to fight it. anyways, it gets better, now when I see pictures of him I smile. cause I remember how amazing he was and how he would always keep me at peace. our little angels are probably playing with each other up there❤️

I just wanted to share this as I have experience it today...my kitten died few hours ago and I been crying for a long but I know he is happy wherever he is...❤️❤️

I feel you bro. Losing a pet is no joke. It's hard for people to understand the connection you have with your pet. They become a family member more then just a pet an it leaves a hole in your heart when they leave. But his at peace now, in cat heaven. R.I.P🙏🏾♥️

thank you so much. I just got my little Panini after Thanksgiving and today she was soooo lethargic. I had to rush her to the vet for her to be put down because of FIP. I am in the process of grieving because I needed to know if anyone else had gone through this. Thank you for sharing so much. I am so sorry for your loss.

@@Freezma There was no warning for my cat. She started losing weight and stop eating for 2-3 days. Took her to the vet and she was given at most 7 days. Vet was right on timing and she passed away 7 days later. Not fair.

Thank you guys for sharing your story. I just lost my five month old kitten to FIP yesterday and I’m devastated. I’ve felt so alone and hearing your story, albeit sad, is helping me.

I understand their feelings so well. What's so fucked up about this disease is how it just comes out of nowhere until you already formed a bond right and just takes it way. My yellow 6m old cat willy back in December was fine one week and the next one was gone. I cried so much.

FIP is treatable for those that know where to go. I think the algorithm recommended this vid because I have a cat with wet FIP currently. I've been treating her for 2.5 weeks and for all intents and purposes she is back to normal.

She's not "cured" yet. We're only on day 25 of a 12 week treatment but she's back to acting normal at this point. On FB look for a group called FIP Warriors 5.0- they will help. There's some fake FIP groups out there so be careful.

There is currently no medical treatment for FIP that I'm aware of. If your cat has the noneffusive form of the disease, it's possible that antibiotic treatment can support the immune system and extend your cat's life, but it has dangerous side effects and it's not a cure. There is an experimental antiviral drug that's being researched for use in FIP treatment, but it's not approved for use in the US and many other countries at this time.

My kitty goes into observation period in 2 days after being successfully treated for 12 weeks. Just because it's experimental doesn't mean it doesn't work. Experimental treatments and medications are used for humans all the time. Because pet owners are told there is no treatment they euthanize their cats unnecessarily and some only find out after the fact that they could have done more. Success is not 100% but it's high enough to save a lot of lives

I’m sorry but this is completely untrue. My sweet boy had dry FIP, his FIP affected his CNS. It was killing him on the inside. Realistically even cats with treatment can die. Don’t promise fake hope

RIP little man. Wow had no idea so thanks for clearing this up bro! Just have to be thankful for the joy he brought to you over the last few months. You can see how much he meant to you and Jem. We’ve just lost our kitty to FIP - it is the most cruel disease and it’s awful how quickly it progressed. I had never heard of it until two weeks ago - I can totally relate to feeling so completely consumed by this disease. The last two weeks of our lives have been vets visits and specialists and doing as much research as possible. It’s comforting to know that someone understands what we’re going through. We only had her for 7 months and it is devastating 😢

Our first ever kitten, Ollie, had wet FIP. We’ve never had a cat before because we always thought that they weren’t the cuddliest but Ollie proved us so wrong. It was hard not to love the little guy. He would follow me everywhere and would only nap next to me. He would talk to me nonstop. The thing that bothers me the most is that his last week before we put him to sleep, he was at the hospital surrounded by strangers. I just hope that he never thought that we abandoned him. Even though we were there in his final moments, it terrifies me to think that he wasn’t aware of how much he was loved. I hope everyone who had to deal with losing a kitten finds the peace that they need ❤️

I just found out my cat has FIP a few days ago. She is my baby and I am absolutely heart broken over this 😢😢

We lost our kitten to FIP about a year ago. It started with him sleeping for days on end, then he would do anything he could to lick the stones on the terrace. Later he had trouble finding his balance, and in the end he was completely paralyzed. He didn't have seizures like yours, but he had brain damage nonetheless. He wouldn't eat or drink and lost close to all his muscle tissue. We had the same ups and downs in our story, thinking he was going to live, he was going to be alright. We took him with us to the beach, and he walked next to us on the shore. It was beautiful. We decided to put him down when he no longer purred, no longer acknowledged our existence at all. Before that, he would stop at nothing to show how happy he was, even if it cost him all his energy. He was just too tired and in too much pain to feel happiness. The vet came to our home, she let me hold him as she did it. It soothes me to think that the last thing he ever felt was to be in my warm arms, being pet and kissed by our family. We miss him terribly.

Just remember the joy he gave you, those happy memories...he died but brought you so much joy!

Bro seeing that clip of halo broke my heart, im so sorry you had to witness him going through that. My 17 week old kitten was just diagnosed with wet fip today . We had taken him to the vet a little over a week ago and he had a bit of a fever and wasn't being his normal playful self . They gave him an antibiotic shot , a fever reducer and the vet said his belly felt wormy so she gave him a topical dewormer . We noticed his belly getting bigger so I thought the dewormer wasn't working . Come to find out , that wormy feeling was actually fluid building up . We are having him put to sleep on Tuesday. Today is friday , we wanted one more weekend of snuggles . It is one of the most heart destroying things I've been through . I know this video was posted 3 years ago but I just want to say , I'm so sorry for your loss and for anyone else who has suffered the same loss ❤

Yesterday I had to put down my Precious Pumpkin named Greedy, It's so Sad because she just had a litter of kitties 10 days ago, She got really sick a week after having them, Took her to the Vet & found out she has FIP, I never heard of that before, Vet said she would get worse & would be fatal eventually, I found her in my backyard 11 1/2 months ago, I'am oh so sad right now so I thought I might get some therapy by watching YT videos of other people that had to go through this, So thank you guys for making this video, literally she was a healthy kitty up until two days ago & now she is gone & left us 4 beautiful kitties, Vet said kitties really need the mama in order to survive, me & my son & daughter & their mom is going to make it happen..

My Gece also had dry FIP and we had to put her to sleep 2 months ago. She had worsening encephalitis, just like Halo. She became incontinent, had severe nytagmus and ataxia, was falling over constantly. She didn't have grand mal seizures but she had shivering episodes which were probably petit mals. Just like Halo, she stopped being herself - she was very withdrawn and wasn't sleeping at all - just staring into space for 4 days straight. I feel your pain so much. To make things worse, because of Covid precautions, we couldn't visit her and the vet hospital was very slow to respond to calls or to give us honest answers. She was in ICU for 3 nights, came back emaciated, and she was a different cat. I so much appreciate that you made this video.

9 months later... I want to update my response. I was very, VERY angry at the lack of information from cat experts, even our own vets, about what was going on with Gece. It was all very hush-hush - our ICU vet was very vague about how to actually get help, knowing that Gece was actively dying and needed help immediately. I was grasping at anything to get help immediately, and NO HELP was to be found. This was height of Covid and all I could do was try to find help online. NOTHING. NOTHING. I lashed out at Jackson G, Vancouver Vet and it wasn't fair because JG is a behaviorist and VV is just... ? - they might have helped a bit by pointing me in the right direction, maybe - but wasn't their job or anything that affected themselves. That's fine. However, JG's colleague #KittenLady (Hannah, a kitten expert) has actually experienced the horrific pain of nearly losing a baby herself to FIP, and has written extensively about her experience these few months with her kitty Coco on FB. It is a serious, frightening disease - but I am witness to a friend's young cat being saved by this treatment, and I know it is a real thing. #FIPWarriors.com XOXO

I want to add that I actively reached out to Jackson G and Vancouv Vet in desperation - both parties were disinclined to offer any real help. I don't really care if they get mad - Gece died under horrible circumstances, and I thought I could get some kind of help. And they let me down.

It's awful what you both went through, poor wee Halo.. it's hard you lost him, but he lived a very happy and loved life because of you both.

So sorry for your loss guys I know how it feels to lose a pet. I lost my childhood cat 2-3 years ago that I had for 14 years growing up, she was healthy never had problems and just died of a heart attack 1 day, I still cry from time to time it's hard when you loved them so much. It will get better with time trust me

I'm sorry for your loss. I just lost my cat Taiger (Tiger) this past wednesday. she had pain in her body and had a hard time walking had to put her to sleep at the Vet. She was my pride & joy for 8 years, adopted her off the streets as a stray cat in (2012). It's only been two years since she passed and I feel like I have a hole in soul right now with her around anymore. I 🙏 for comfort and peace to everyone that has lost a 🐈, or other pet in (2020).

We lost our BSH Frank last Saturday night to Wet FIP 😭 9 maths old tragic disease complicated by tyranny of time and distance. 14 days to get bloods back so he could get the Rem treatment. He didn't make it

Lost my cat 3 days ago from a hit and run, she was 4 years old. She came to us off the street in the rain and into our hearts, she was our daughter and we loved her more than anything and always thought she'd make it to 20. We grieving way more for her than I did more my parents, so I can relate to your loss.

My baby boy was just diagnosed with dry FIP a week ago. He is on steroids now. He is eating well and loves treats. He has been playing a lot more lately. I am just waiting for the decline 😢 or praying for a miracle.

Sorry for your loss. As a veterinary technician we are seeing more cases of FIP each day.

Hi, I recently just replied to your comment saying how my cat is in the same situation. He died this morning and I watched him take his last breath. I hope this feeling gets better and that your cat can live a little while longer if not, don’t worry your cat will finally be at peace just as mine. my cat was SUFFERING I felt so bad I wish I put him down rather than watch him suffer till he finally rest😭🤍

What your cat and you went through was truly heartbreaking. And unfair. And horrific. I know it happened a while ago, but I just want to say I am so sorry for your loss. I expect to soon lose one of my mature cats to wet FIP, maybe tomorrow. But it's nothing like what your cat went through. :( Thanks for talking about your tragic experience. Sorry to hear about your cat, it is incredibly sad, thank you for sharing. Our cat is only 6 months old and have had her since the turn of the new year. She was diagnosed with Dry FIP last Saturday. We managed to get her on the GS drug and has improved in all concerning areas of blood work. But she just can’t poop or hold her urine as she lost control of her back legs. It’s heartbreaking and I feel you pain. I too couldn’t not believe how quickly a very normal l, healthy playful cat can deteriorate that quickly. Wish you guys the best!

Sorry to hear your lost. My cat had wet FIP last August. And I treated him with this drug GS441. Started from this fb group and then I purchased some drug on a Chinese site. This drug is not FDA approved but it truly worked. My cat is healthy now. Hope everyone know this drug and hope more cats can be saved.

Our kitten passed away today due to FIP. It happened so fast and was first diagnosed as just having a kitty cold. Last night July 11th 2021 he was having breathing problems. Today we took him back to the vet because his breathing got worse and then all of a sudden he was on a ventilator with 5 minutes to live as his heart rate went to 0. He had the wet version in his chest so his chest cavity had 100ml of fluid in it restricting his breathing. It's very hard to deal with. :( He was only 3 months old and we've only had him for 3 weeks.

Sorry about the sad news. FIP is actually can have treatments now. I have 2 cats rescued back in 2022. One of my cat passed away a few weeks ago by suspected FIP. It was too late to find out it was FIP. I was devastated as he was only 3 year old. He started with sneezing so vet at first thought he had flu herpes. He seemed ok on 1st week on medication but sneezing continued. After 2 weeks, his sneeze stopped but he started not eating much, at that point I bought him to another vet. That vet charged me fortune to put in hospital and thought he had FIP, but sadly next day, he got worst and passed away. He didn't have seizure he was just getting weak and not eating much... But now there is treatment for FIP, it was around 89% successful rate or something. Be careful of the black marketing FIP treatments though, but there is some treatments now to cure.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My 4 yr old Scottish fold just recently died of this horrible virus, too.

I recently lost my kitten in a car accident... but still I can’t imagine what pain you must have gone through, having to see Halo like that for days must have been torture. I’m sorry for your loss 💔 I hope you have thought of getting another cat because they are the most beautiful creatures on earth ❤️

Hey guys, much love 💗. I lost my baby girl to FIP Friday just passed, we only had her for 5 weeks and I empathize with everything you said. Even though they were only part of our families for a short while, they feel like they were your best and oldest friend. Here’s to hoping UC Davis trials get a hopeful cure pushed through sometime soon so no one else has to endure this pain. Luna was 20 weeks old, she didn’t even get to explore her forever homes backyard. She will be missed.

My kitten died 48 hours ago, he was killed by a dog behind our home. He would have been 6 months old this week so I had him for the same length of time as you and also had such a special bond. Seeing how affected you were by your situation with Halo was absolutely devastating but also so comforting to know other people have had a similar experience. It seems this video was posted quite a while ago, but thank you for keeping it up 🙏 I’m really grateful to have heard your story.

Really so sorry for you guys losing your little baby. Wish all would be more fair in this world ! And thanks for sharing your story, our little baby just got diagnosted with FIP as well, Big hugs..

@@Freezma Thank you, appreciate it. We are still hanging in there, not sure how long we have, but we glad and happy for every day we can share.

I know exactly what you guys went through because I'm facing it now my nice's kitten 1 year old has FIP & the wet form. Last night I couldn't sleep. It's so hard to even imagine that he will not be able to make it. I've loved him and I will love him ❤️ My vet told me to prepare for the worst 😞😓

There is hope, look up fip warriors on Facebook. There is a treatment for this but its expensive and long

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I lost my little baby Chester to FIP. Then, just 3 weeks later, his brother, John Moses Was diagnosed with FIP. I refused to leave either one of my boys but let them fall asleep on my lap. NEVER IN MY LIFE have I felt such pain. I'm so glad to hear of a potential cure.

Sorry for your loss :( the whole situation looked like it sucked

We lost our 17 year old Manx to cancer a couple of months ago. We wanted another Manx because we like their dog like personalities and we found out the local no-kill shelter had two Manx brother kittens. We adopted them and everything went well for a few days then out of nowhere one of them got a high fever and sickly and yes the lab and test results showed he had severe FIP. We did everything possible to save him and had an excellent vet that was very familiar with the disease and knew what to do. We had never heard of this terrible disease. We had to put him down today at only 3 months old. I know we did the right thing because no matter what we did with the vet's care it just got worse. Fortunately his brother has no signs of it in his lab work and is doing fine as a normal hell raising kitten. The loss is very difficult as you all know all too well. We must remind ourselves that we gave these FIP cats all the love and care we possibly could. And, we received all their unconditional love. Sometimes I think the FIP cats personally picked us to help them get to the other side. So sorry and sad for all the little FIP angels that ended up with this terrible disease. The loss of these little angels does leave a huge empty spot in our hearts but hopefully we can find some comfort in knowing we did all we could for them.

I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty. My husband and I just lost our 11 month old cat to FIP 3 days ago. And we are so heartbroken. We had to put him down because the doctor told us that it was so far along that he wasn’t going to make it. It’s so hard to lose them to this. Prayers to you guys!

so sad - I lost my kitten a week ago - FIP. I rescued her from a dirty pet store here in Thailand. the vets can't do anything. I know the symptoms very well and I don't go to the vet anymore - they just give me a big bill - the cat is going to die anyway. instead of torturing her with medicine and making her last hours of life even worse, i stroked her, she heard my voice and purred. at least she had 2 wonderful weeks in my house.

Same thing happened to my kitty just today, she was turning 6 months old in 3 days and we’ve only had her for a little bit over 2 months. She was so strong and so tough to fight out but she was too young to finish fighting. We prayed almost everyday and tried giving her a bunch of medicine. I probably cried about everyday. My kitty died in my moms arms while we were giving our last goodbyes since she already looked horrible and was barely breathing. I’m trying not to cry while typing. I try thinking she’s in a better place now but anywhere I go I think of her. Ilysm bbg.

We just went through this about a month ago. Its one of the most brutal things we've seen. Our five month old was gone within a couple days.

It does happen with cats older than 2 years old. We lost one a few years back. I found this video because I think we’re dealing with this again. So sad.
