There are several side by sides I see in the UK that I would like to have. Gotta figure out how to get them across the pond.

Definately I agree David, a new side by side from Miroku/ Browning would have a big following. Both box lock and side lock versions would be great, that way cost might not be prohibitive. Long barrels 29" or 30" with open fixed chokes to allow for steel shot would be fantastic. I don't want much do I? Of course I did have a Miroku FE sidelock before (fantastic gun) so I suppose I'm a little biased. A box lock would be super.

I’d imagine that if you showed up at the John Browning custom shop with a suitcase full of money, they’d make you a very nice sidelock SxS. May even pull an old basic action out of the dusty basement to start on. You likely won’t have it for a couple years but I’d bet it would be very nice once done. And unique! 👍🏼

I have one. The gun in question is not a back action. It is a bar action. The guns were all made in Japan by Miroku.

I have a Miroku FEII which looks like a H&H 9 pin action with a Purdey hidden third bite. I think David is saying that this is a FN Herstal made gun not a Miroku Japanese made gun. FN did make SxS's in Belgium. If I heard correctly this one has Fabrique Nationale on the rib not Browning as would be the case if it was a BSS Sidelock or Miroku if it was a FEII or SL120.

I have watched the video again. I think you maybe correct. Having said this my Browning reference book makes no mention of their BSS ever being made by FN.

@@timfinlay2174 Hi Tim. The BSS boxlock is a rebadged Miroku Model 500. There is a BSS sidelock which is identical to the FEII though not finished to as high a standard. Nothing wrong with that, they are superbly made on a true chopper lump barrels. Miroku build quality and materials are second to none. The Citori, 525,725 and Cynergy were/are also manufactured for Browning by Miroku in Japan .I have a Browning Citori manufactured in 2013 both it and my Miroku FEII have identical Miroku proof marks. They only bear factory proof marks as Australia does not require independent proof like many European countries.

David, I would absolutely love to own a gun like that one. I've been teased by others who actually have them, but I've never seen or handled one. I love all of my side by sides and will never get rid of any of them. They just feel so natural in my hands!

I love the over and under, but a good side by side can't be beat, i've owned several Citori's that my cheap o/u would out shoot, can you show a cheap $500 gun against a higher dollar gun, or point me too a video you've already done, i'm from the US and love the english shotguns

David more people are talking about using autos on game shoots and rember the people would only put in 2 shells why not you whent from all side by side to over and under the problem is recoil especially for women and boys and old men he was shooting 3 inch mags 36 gram 3 at extreme ducks and 4 at pheasants he said his wife is so much happier shooting a gas auto plus he said he herts his shoulder shooting these heavy loads he has to see a chiropractor as long as it 2 shells its the same after that it would be just snobery rember you changed it to a over and under some people call thats not sporting which is nonsense
