Just strong fundamentals and being able to determine notes through pitch (usually experience). Pitch is important because sometimes you’ll have diminutive notes or something else in a chord or arpeggiated phrases. Usually lead notes are in an upbeat which can help you tell which time signature someone is playing in. You know the cadence and the chord progression with whatever wonky notes they put in and you can sight read something like this fairly quickly If you want to learn more there are tons of courses teaching violin, which I think is the easiest beginner instrument to understand things like “what’s an octave… what do these notes sound like…” etc and then you learn basic music theory and you can move onto guitar tablature. One book I recommend everyone learning guitar pick up, or even if you want to learn about guitar and not play is the Guitar Grimoire by Adam Kadmon.

Some consider many artists elitists and gatekeepers. While I appreciate trying to keep some level of skill or ability as a measure of competence, as you say - it's an art, and art is appreciated by the receiver. This is why we have 'pop' music. If you want to understand this style look at Manitas De Plata. So good, and self taught. His guitar was drawn on by both Picasso and Dali. John Steinbeck also was a super fan. By the 1970s he had sold close to 100 million albums, before the internet and global marketing. His sons and nephews carried on the tradition in forming The Gypsy Kings. For a contemporary guitar genius, look for Matteo Mancuso. Revolutionary technique and improvisation maturity far beyond his years. At 21 he was getting Al Dimeola and Steve Vai praising him as equals or superior as a guitarist.

I have respect for Manitas de plata but you can't Say that. The real genius in flamenca was paco de Lucia. He could play all the palo 's flamencos.not manita. He play wth the great flamenco singer camaron de la Isla. Not manita,.he Plays with aldi meola for many years and Aldi had always said with John mc Laughlin that paco was the greatest flamenco guitarist of all time.joaquin Rodrigo himselfs said that Paco was the best player of his concerto de Aranjuez that he never heard. I think you better listen and see the album and documentary of paco de Lucia 's carrear. You will learn a lot of things very important about what you don't know and don't understand about flamenco music. Just listen to paco's music( entre dos aguas, potro de Rabia y miel buleria with camaron de la Isla, el panuelo ,almoraima, reflero de Luna taranta..etc..) and don't forget the greatest old player like Nino Ricardo, sabicas, Ramon Montoya etc.. i'm sorry but Manitas is juste a kid in comparution of those great guitarist of History of flamenco..
Saw this one some 10 years ago and it blew my mind. But now after learning the instrument for a few years now I can say that it's not that hard actually. However, he executed it nicely. The sad thing is Amin himself cannot play this well enough recently (I saw a video of him playing this a couple of years ago)

This guy is great and I definitely enjoyed the video (microphone issues included) but I am spoiled because twenty-some years ago I was blessed to have the repeated opportunity watch a guy named Stephan at the Dome Bar in El Paso play this and so many other flamenco pieces much more masterfully... and without audio issues.
He starts out by saying it was about his time at college. I remember the first days, how fitting it is to play the guitar backward. Then he turns around the guitar and plays a quick piece; I remember that also. Things gradually fall into place and get better with moments of greatness. Yep, that was college!

Nothing wrong with the performance the problem was the word “best” in the title I think.
With a hand and fingers like that the guitar ain't the only thing he be strumming. But jokes aside he must have practiced with a passion to be able to play like that.
I dont know how to play the guitar but I know a LEGEND when I hear one. This guys amazing!!!
Ah yes the Flamenco style of guitar, excellent choice in my opinion ja true cousin to the Zambra style of guitar. Although I must confess I have heard some amazing developments in the legendary Fandango style of guitar which of course is due to its rich historical tapestry and body fluidity in an ever increasing quest for perfection. Good show sir!

So how do we start to compare so many amazing guitar players over the past decades? We as an audience of a number of genres judge music. Roy Clark has been said to be the most amazing, greatest guitar player of the past decades. Then we have players in rock and heavy metal. Eddy Van Halen, who some have called the greatest player ever. Then we have player people have called a virtuoso, like Yngwie Malmsteen. These are some of the greatest guitar player to give us their gifts, and there are more! So how can we say this particular guitar player, “or the master of any other instrument” is the best in the world?
Your playing was just as good minus the guitar banging portions. Great job!

It's worth it personally to take up an instrument or any kind of art or craft and and become proficient with it. The time is not wasted. Those who become virtuoso are innately talented beyond the average. Some on genius level. Percussion guitar is awesome. It incorporates a lot of flamenco style. Marcin is genius level. You must check him out.
Great guitarist, amazing music.
He had nails. That means he is seriously a player. No classical guitarist (the instrument) would have cut nails.
Impressive percussive strumming. Fun to listen to. Right hand is acrobatic. I'd like to hear him play some Bach. Just to see if that left hand is as impressive. Musical pet peeve here, if there's no words and singing...it's not a "song". Definitely a hell of a composition and technical skill. Song is the art of singing. Words put to song makes the art so amazing and difficult to do well. I can't sing nor can I write songs. If he was a music major he probably wouldn't have called it a song.

Terrific!
Roy Clark's flamenco on The Odd Couple fascinated me more but this dude is fantastic.
That was very nice. Thanks for the reaction. Can you/anyone tell me what kind of guitar/ type of strings Amin is playing on, please? Thanks

Flamenco Is a technique, It's often used with bassists while they Slap and pop as another example. Clearly he is entertaining and Working a crowed while playing guitar. I don't get why people think Music is a special club. If you aren't learning anything new on Guitar you are doing it wrong. I know this because I play myself. Are you lacking musicianship? It's great. I give it an A, I have came across A* in that style I enjoyed it.

@@kunaljaju646 hopefully, dude's cocky af
My man’s been putting in that work with his right hand😄
I hate it when you tell someone you're a guitarist and they show you this video and expect you to be in awe of it.
I hope people watch Amin's video agaon and again to get relieve from stress or depression 😊😊😊
Just a bit of FYI the style he's playing here is called flamenco (Spaniard gypsy)which is a mixed of Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan cultures all rolled neatly into one. They use the guitar as a "drum" that's how they learn to play as the flamenco dancers use it as their rhythm along with castañuelas.

This isn't traditional Flamenco, it's sort of using a Rumba palo(one of the styles in Flamenco), but it isn't technically Flamenco. Also, the guitar follows the dancer/singer, not the other way around. And the castanets are not a Flamenco instrument, you're confusing it with classical Spanish dancing, which is not the same as Flamenco - which is a Spanish Gitano(gypsy) music, with no connection to Morocco or Moroccan music. People hear the Phrygian mode and become cinfused.

Flemenco is said to be spanish now but Flemenco is associated to the Romani people and you know where Romani people come from right

@Koushik Vemuri there's a lot of Rmani influence all through Spain and several other Latin American countries including mine (Argentina) just saying

@@koushikvemuri3130 Don't confuse Spanish Gitanos with other Romani. Gitanos have been in Spain for centuries and have mixed in with Spanish genetics. Flamenco comes from Gitano folk culture, but is very much a part of Spanish culture now.

@@ericaarcas8161 it's mostly in the south of Spain, in places like Seville, Granada, and Cadiz, but generally all through the south.
there’s an older Segovia biography where the documentarians claim that he saved the guitar from existing primarily as a flamenco instrument. I tend to agree, but damn, the guitar really shines and excites in this style
He does seem to know how to play a Phrygian scale and to write a melody by playing it downward instead of going up! Astonishing.
