The only thing I can say is, do everything in your power to live your life the way they would want you to. Sing, dance, be with your friends and family. Love everyday as if it's your last and carry them with you like a tattoo. It won't change the pain or feeling of loss. But each day will get easier. I promise you. So in the beginning he’s obviously given up hope. Was ready to end it and right before he pulled the trigger. A wolf howled and he snapped back into it sorta speak. Ironically the thing that saves him also kills him later on. But the plane crashes and everyone’s grasping for any chance of survival and he ends up become the unelected leader and attempts to save lives after just almost taking his. He did everything he could to try and get everyone to safety and even though none of it mattered in the end. He did not give up one time. After watching everyone he became close with getting ripped apart. After realizing he was in the den and he was pretty much fucked. He still fought to the end. He survived all that. Came face to face with death and danced with him. But this time he wasn’t on his knees with a gun in his mouth. This time he went out fighting. The movie starts with a man ready to die on his knees and ends with a man ready to die on his feet. Basically. No matter what. Don’t give up. Fight to the last breath. Something about this movie hit me hit me deep. It’s so much more than dudes fighting wolves. The lessons in this movie are powerful. Amazing movie.

This movie holds a special significance. I wasn't really sure what it meant when I first watched it, because the ending was so sudden. But after re-watching, I learned that it's not about what actually happens to Ottway's character. It's about the fact he's willing to fight to the end. The act of him taping his hands with broken glass means everything. He's willing to fight no matter what...

The movie holds a powerful message. At the start of the film he is lost, cold, lonely and beaten with the will to go on in life dwindling. He witnesses the enormity of desire presented by his fellow survivors as they hold onto anything to live to fight another day. The ending beautifully ties together in a stack of wallets of his fallen friends, a metaphoric message that you should never give up even if everything seems lost. Liam lost his wife tragically before acting these scenes, and the poem "into the fray" reveals his realization that one must go on, and as such the wolf represents the emotional upheaval one must endure to rebound from hardship and overcome even the most difficult challenges. He must now fight the darkness and step into the fray.

The wolves represent death, that there is no escape. You can run around it, but you always end up in its den. You can wait and let it come and die peacefully looking at the lake, you can die accidentally (drowning), or death comes at night and grabs you away. Each guy faced death differently, but Liam confronts it face to face. “Do not go gentle into that good night, rage rage against the dying of then light”

He struggles with suicidal thoughts since his wife passing, and at that moment, he decides, he has a will to live, and is willing to fight for his life. Movie is more about him conquering depression/suicidal thoughts, as opposed fighting wild wolves. whether he lives or dies on that day against pack, it is more about his victory against his inner demons. He decides to fight for life, learns to live even if it just for that moment.

Life is hard no matter who you are or where you come from. The fact that we were born and exist, whether you consider that to be lucky or unlucky, means that we will have to face the last good fight and die. Whether we choose to stand on our feet and fight or lay down and give up in the meantime is the only real choice we have. That’s what I take from it anyway.

I think if there's an afterlife there has to be more than one life, so her soul is either at peace or reincarnated, but maybe if her attachment is strong enough she remains a ghost for as long as she wants, and that's ok, it may have been too sudden and traumatizing for her.

This song makes me think about my last day. It doesn't make me scared, but brings me peace. How something as little as music can bring this affect on not just me, but many others is just spectacular. Life is beautiful my friends. Embrace the darkness and shine.

The guy that wrote this song is the best indie movie director there is. He made this song for one of his movies! It is called "Ink" and i highly encourage you to watch it since you have a good taste in movies when you landed here after watching "The Grey". Imagine: This guy filmed a movie on low budget and made the fabulous soundtrack all by himself! It is ART!

Yeah, this movie is very deep, very emotional. Unlike today's hollywood shit movies like Avengers and all the other crap, this one actually had that something. I cried also, I believe in a way that we all relate to Ottway in one form, which is that we all fight for survival, struggle with sadness, and want to find the "why" in life. All the things that you've been through, you are still here. Every obstacle that has ever stood in your way, wasn't enough to kill you. All the emotions build up in us and that's why we cry I think. This movie was kind of a trigger for your built up emotions to explode. Strong people cry.

Every person fights a war. Some give up, some tire away - and while they are worth credit for having fought as long as they did, it is those who continue their fight until their last moments, whose legacy lasts the longest. Your battle does not need to witnessed, nor does your valor or courage - all that needs to be, is for you to have fought your battles, and for you to know that, victory or defeat, that you fought your battles - for only then you have honored the life you were given to live, and the faith your loved ones had in you.

This song reminds me of how broken and empty I really am and no matter how hard I try to put an act of enlightenment on life just seems to fade away slowly into a haze of despair and with every second I think about it the more I start to realize that for me I have not a purpose I've lost what my world had giving me and now I just coast alone feeling hollow as a vessel of emptiness.... I can't seem to escape what bindings that have confounded me to an abyss of only sharp drops of anxiety and distantness I feel I'm no longer meaningful and I hide away in this shell like confound as i sink further into the fray, my whole life passes by me as I just sit back and observed and i smile trying not to remember how hopeless it all is as im trying to be "happy" but how? How do I become happy for my world left me with agony and sorrow a world where I just can't seem to cope with most of the days that I slowly find myself drifting thru there is life after death.. I've died years ago and for some reason I'm destined to walk alone in this purgatory of a hellish like world, I'm not alive... Not like i use to be at least and not like i wish to be.... i miss that feeling more then I can describe. I'd die for that sence once more, just to feel happiness for one more time.. I deserve everything i have been given and except that I'm not worth that happiness no longer, that warmth that I felt in my heart... that feeling of hope surrounding your every thought. Gone stolen by my own doing my minds like a battle ground of misery triggering one synapse to another I feel lost amoung the rest of this world as an outsider cast upon a blind society to walk alone.

I'm a grown man. I have weathered many storms and so many other cliches. As soon as this really starts to hit major chords: I swell up with emotion of the whole of my life. I think of so many of my regrets, I think of my daughter! and all the love I have for her, and how sad I am I will know her childhood for but a short while. I think of the girlfriend I had that passed away so young I think of the times I sat alone, ready to end it. I think of all the other pieces of music and songs and lyrics and how they fail to compare, for some reason, to the melancholy I feel when I hear this. I have been the happiest I have felt in the longest time, and cannot NOT listen to this when I see it. this is the antithesis of the 9th symphony in elation. it's a masterpiece and I wish it got more recognition as so.

She was one of the greatest people that a nephew could ever have hoped for. And now she is gone. :( I'll miss her cookings.. her random comments on my page... telling me good night. Everything. I wish I was there before she died. But it's okay.. she is where there's no pain anymore. She's gone to be with my father, sister and grandfather. I hope she is happy. Of course she is. This movie deserves more recognition, most bat an eye and chalk it up as the typical action movie but it’s so much more.

Titus 2:11-14 NLT For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. [12] And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, [13] while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. [14] He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.

The first time I saw this movie I was so disappointed. I expected it to be like Taken where Liam would save the day. I've watched it a bunch of times since then and it gets better each time I watch it. I would definitely recommend.

I watched this movie having no idea what to expect, I don't even think I saw a trailer for it, so I had no idea what it was even about. I thought it was just gonna be some dumb fun action movie like those Taken movies Liam Neeson keeps making. But good lord.... Nothing prepared me it. I was not ready. This movie hit me like a train. After the movie finished, I didn't even say a word, I just sat there in silence as the credits rolled, then I got up from my seat went over to the window and smoked a cigarette while watching the traffic go by outside. This movie, man...... I have no words. "once more into the fray"
