Gladiator is a classical masterpiece. It's one of the rare films I can watch repeatedly without getting bored. A timeless tale of honour and revenge.

24 years later and this is one of the best movie themes ever composed. Nuff said

This was my mom's favorite movie. It was the first ever "adult" movie I was allowed to watch. We watched it so many times together when I was little. She passed away a few weeks ago after battling cancer a second time. The title and vibes of this song fit so perfectly with how I feel. I'm sad she's gone but I'm glad she's free of her cancer pains and is in a better place Edit (6/30/22): Thank you to everyone for the kind words. I was standing in the original Colosseum almost one week ago in Rome, and hearing this incredible beautiful Soundtrack of Gladiator in my Head! It was an Lifetime-Expirience...❤

Such a hauntingly beautiful piece of music..can never get tired of listening to it. With all the technology we have 24 years on i can’t see how they could make the film better if made today. Incredible piece of work.

My mother passed away last month after 50 happy years on Earth, she was the victim of a bicycle accident 3 years ago and was in a coma up till now. Gladiator was one of her favorite movies and the scene when Maximus walks across the field to join his family never failed to make her cry even after countless rewatches over the years. This song is just too good and it will be played as the final song for her funeral as she takes her final trip across the fields. Everytime I listen to it I get all warm and happy and I can feel her presence somehow. It is a sad song but it is also hopeful, it gives me hope that I will one day see her again when it’s my turn to walk across the fields...but not yet, not yet.

My dad’s favorite movie of all times was Gladiator. He passed away after a strong fight against lung cancer. He also managed to live for more than 20 years with skin cancer. While in bed, in his very last moment, apparently unconscious, I said whispering to his ear: Here you will leave a man, you have trained a Gladiator, I will see you again dad, but not yet! His eyebrows moved, he tried to give me a smile, he passed away, 10 seconds after.

Give me some examples that Gladiator copied. Even then, compared to the many superhero films, bland comedies, and "life-lesson" quirky adventure stories, Gladiator comes off as quite refreshing. Also has actual characterization.

+mohammed hadjila I think the actor really matters too, and Russell crowe, he was spectacular, specially in this gracious movie. As time goes on, people get older and older, so, that is, maybe, the reason some really good films come to an end of production. I have a big list of favourites movies, but I accept that they were only and will never exist another equivalent to them.

I watched this TV show when I lived in Australia and Neil's talent still has the power to reduce me to tears... Good on ya buddy 🇳🇿

He was the kindest soul I've ever known, the one person in the whole world who meant so much more to me than what a simple word can express. He held on for two years since he was first diagnosed with cancer, until May 12th, when he had suffered a stroke, and soon after, pulmonary embolism which ended up too much for him. He had just enough strength left to fight on so that his closest relatives could see him before leaving this world. Dad... I'll miss you so much. But now you're free. And when the time comes... I hope I'll see you again.

Dear reader, One day our lives will end, all you'll have left would be the memories and the feelings it gave you.. keeping them in your heart you'll move on with life..... But in future when you're older, and if you ever come to this place on youtube again. just remember that I prayed for your success because we were here once, listening to the same song.

Yesterday, I carried my dad's coffin on my shoulder to the front of the church - the same way he supported me for all my life. This was playing as we entered. I have never, ever been prouder in my life, and I can tell you that I probably never will be again. I honoured my gladiator; my hero. Like Maximus, his fight was over only after he lived long enough to ensure everything was okay for his family. To any of you reading this, you need not a moment exactly like mine to show you what really matters in life, just keep your heart and eyes open for what that may look like for you. Thank you for everything and I love you, Dad xxx

I lost my only best friend of 40 years. This was his favorite track and mine too. We watched this movie together, we earned money for tickets by doing odd jobs for the neighbors and it was all worth it. I miss him when I'm alone, I pretend to be alright, I pretend to be tough and I pretend to be normal. To Stephen, " I will see you again, but not yet, not yet..."

I was 14 when first watched this movie with my mother, now I’m 35 and still watch it over and over every couple of years and always discover smth. new in it… And the music ist just a masterpiece.

It doesn't matter where we are from. It doesn't matter what religion we follow, what language we speak, or what country we are from. What matters is feeling the music's essence and if millions of people like you feel the same way, then the music has achieved its purpose. To everyone who is listening to this music right now and thinking about their past, feeling sad, happy, nostalgic, hopeful, crying, thinking, laughing, and looking towards the future with optimism, I send my greetings. With love from Turkey.

It's funny how this is the only memory with my father 20 years ago. He left me and my mother when I was 7. He married to another woman, has another children. However, even though he doesn't know, I still remember this movie watching it with him and writing this comment with tears in my eyes. It's funny how I never tell anyone in my life about this, I never talk with anyone about my father too, but deep there, I miss this moment. I try to be a gladiator since then. What a wonderful movie.

Depends. You are right but for everyone freedom is different. For some freedom might have this tragic aspect of escaping the suffering or bring unfulfilled in this existence even if there is nothing beyond so do not judge them. This song is so beautiful it relates to every possible interpretation of freedom

My Dad died after a tragic accident this year leaving me very devastated. However, when I listen to this song I get to have the true feeling that he is free from all his pains and sufferings. Rest well Dad. You re really free now. Till we meet again.

This song really brings back memories for me. My dad suddenly passed away from a cardiac arrest 2month ago. 53yrs old. About 12/13 year ago my dad made a video of us all camping in the Lake District, England. Exploring caves and mountains etc. He used this song for the video, he really liked the movie as well as the song. Just brings back so many memories R.I.P dad ❤
