I could already tell at the beginning of the video that this is going to be hard to listen to and it's actually even worse than I thought it would be. One of my aunts has a similar condition to Jennifer's, so this one is just a bit too close to home for me. My heart goes out to Jennifer, her family and the people who loved her, what an absolute horrible and unworthy way to go. Not even going to waste my breath on the perps, they deserve to be forgotten about entirely.

My mom lives in an adult care home. Shes faced horrors in her life that have kind of left her as a shell of herself. I would vehemently stand up for anyone being picked on as a kid. Oh sure, the bullies tried to bully me but I basically ignored them...or if it turned physical, I fought them. I wouldn't say I won. Nobody really wins a physical fight but they never messed with me again. Do kids not stand up for other kids getting bullied anymore? I still refuse to stand by and see anyone being picked on or taken advantage of. Why do people need to be such assholes...or worse?!

I've worked with developmentally delayed and disabled people for my entire adult life. I'm not virtue signaling, it's just what I do for a living and one of the greatest joys of my life (2nd only to fatherhood). Poor Jennifer didn't choose to be born disabled, and most certainly didn't deserve to be bullied, so I can only imagine how confusing, painful, and terrifying her final hours must have been. The sense of betrayal she must have felt to be so horribly abused by people she considered her friends is utterly heartbreaking. I know the name of this channel is This is Monsters, and all of the subjects of these videos are monsters disguised as humans, but this particular case really hits close to home.

Almost all of these gang torture murder victims seem to be females. Junko Furuta, Hello Kitty murder, that 'witch' burning in Papua New Guinea, public stoning of a woman in Afghanistan. People seem to have less empathy for females. Some of these crimes even have female perpetrators. I wonder if the men would sympathise if it was male victims pleading for their lives.

Long-time listener to this page, as somebody who grew up in a similar background. I am in a wheelchair. However, not nearly as disadvantaged as Jennifer was in her mental capacity which absolutely makes no difference in how horrific this crime is/was. I grew up in a loving home with many others, my parents were also foster parents to dozens of other kids. I know the stories of so many parents who raise children with advanced or unique needs. The dream for all of them is that their loved ones find their place in the world and that includes living independent or semi-independent lives. Crimes like this are a sad, tragic reminder that not only will people take advantage of those in vulnerable positions, but it is a reminder for me as I live, independently in my own apartment in a relatively safe area but I am always cautious and aware of my surroundings. None of this is the fault of Jennifer or her family. I applaud them for trying their best to thread the needle between being protective of her and wanting her to experience life as best she could, their choices didn’t take that away from her, her murderers did. I worked in social services for seven years and hearing this story, chills me to the bone and breaks my heart because everybody that can should have a chance to live a life full of unique experiences, and getting the help to do that is required for some. It angers me, even as a believer and a deeply devout Christian, that evil like this does indeed exist. I won’t go off on a tirade, but it is a reason why I am a believer in the proper application of capital punishment. What shocks me, even more, is that one of her murderers himself had mental handicaps/mental issues that even those we least expect are capable of even the most unforgivable things against a fellow human being. I have commented fairly sporadically throughout my time following this page, but this one strikes at a very personal place for me. I appreciate you being honest about your purpose with Jennifer’s story, but I am also so sad that it even happened and that it has to be covered. For anybody that has known anybody with special or unique needs. Let them know you love them and if they are thriving, cheer them on. If they are struggling do what you can to be there. If they are like Jennifer just love them no matter what. Thank you for letting me get my thoughts out.

It's these kinds of cases that give reasons to have the death penalty. Human rights arguments don't apply to them because they revoked those rights when they chose to be MONSTERS. The amount of effort and energy used to torment that poor baby is beyond words. I certainly hope she is in a peaceful place now. I also hope her family does not blame themselves anymore as they did nothing wrong. Let's make Jennifer's law a real thing for the future.

That the mentally disabled would senselessly attack, humiliate, torture, rape, & then ultimately take the life of one of their very own to dodge consequences shows the human potential for cruelty truly knows NO bounds . Making this tragedy even worse is her family said she had not a mean bone in her body. She only knew kindness. Those that just stood by watching all this happen to a helpless disabled girl & not once demand it stop or sneak out to get help is beyond criminal & disgusting. Why the 4 that dodged death should've gotten LIFE NO PAROLE. It's thanks to their inaction she lost her life, & for that alone they deserve same! Rest easy sweet Jennifer you are not forgotten!

I had a full concussion, with nausea, blurred vision and loss of memory of the event. Friend picked me up for work and immediately asked if I was ok, seeing my face. I hd no idea why he was talking about. I then lost my job and my relationship in the next month. You have not lived until a softball size clod of mucus is squeezed out of your head.

I have a daughter 9 months older than Jennifer. She isn't disabled, but as a father I can strongly empathize. I also have a lifelong, serious hatred of BULLIES. This as much as anything else led me to a military career, spending 30 years in the U.S. Army. Most of my career was in Army Rangers and Special Forces. Our SF motto, "De Oppresso Liber," translates to "Liberate From Oppression." I don't care if it's a single person bullying another, or a country attacking a weaker one, it's all bullying to me. What happened to this poor child (which she was, even though she might've been considered an adult due to her age) is horrendous. All the perpetrators have mental problems of their own, but NOTHING excuses the prolonged torture to which Jennifer was subjected. I'm glad the juries gave all of them heavy sentences and didn't allow anyone to get away with a slap on the wrist.

While (So and so) didn't get anything" Even though she's a victim who deserves to also be remembered and didn't even end up getting justice because Brian managed to get away to commit suicide. If she got more coverage it was because the public over sensationalized it like the Chris Watts case and because she was originally missing under suspicious circumstances while Jenifer's body got found quickly. It is a shame all cases can't get equal coverage though, I can think of one lesbian couple murder & 2 disappearances that happened around the time Gabbie went missing that haven't been solved or were talked about.
