There is a Flash version of this game. Which has the music from the J2ME version, and the sound effects are from Mario's. It only has 6 levels, 3 kinds of powerups, and 3 enemies. It is a ROM hack of TheGameBlazer's Mario games. This version also has ROM Hacks like "Cute Rabbit in Mario World 2", and "Super Mario: The Lost World". The J2ME version has ROM hacks inspired on Mario. There is a PC remake of this game, called Giant Worlds 0.83 A PETSCII version of the Commodore 64 port exists There is a Blitter version of the Atari ST port with scrolling, and an Atari STe conversion that has sound effects from the Amiga version. There is another remake of this game, called Giana Family (It uses graphics from the Commodore 64 version and different sound effects).
I still remember back in the day one of my friends had an Atari 1040 ST. A few weeks after he saw Giana Sisters on my Amiga, he sold his stupid Atari. 😂
The version for c64 is the best

Ahhhhh I had that java version for my old Sony Ericsson phone. The music is probably the best thing about that version!
In the intros it says GIANNA. Never noticed until now
I thought the music from the flash game was exclusive to it. I had no idea the Java Mobile version used it too.
Who's gonna be the new great giana sisters game creator after armin died?
God the amstrad box art geez art has truly evolved for the better bruh.
Für mich bleibt es eine Ananas, keine Erdbeere! 😃
Wait why is the MSX2 version’s title screen music a remix of the Mario 1 level music?
I can't decide which one is classic giana or modern giana?😟

There is also an Atari STE version with better scrolling and cooler music.
The funny thing is that Nintendo first banned TGGS, and later they brought it back on the DS.

I had the DS version of "Giana sisters" but besides the name and music, it have nothing to do with the original game. IMHO it's just another Mario clone. -There are several upgrades in the original game you can't get in the DS version
I like the MSX2 version more
æ... Bruh. Seems like most videos only must have used interpolation. But the original compressed output sound really sounds way better! By far with swirly wind sound at the beginning of the overworld theme.
The c64 version is the best by far.

how did the atari end up with flip screen when even the slower amstrad and msx2 had scrolling I am not including the c64 version as it was nowhere near as slow as the other 8 bits. What makes me laugh is Nintendo bitched like crazy about this and got it taken down because they claimed it was a ripoff version of their Mario game which I don't agree with, you might as well say all platforms look the same which would mean even Mario was a ripoff of another game as it certainly wasn't the first platform game ever released and that takes the piss because it's now on there systems.

@@Maraka77i he didn't, it is not an official release (the official ST release is included here) and it took an STE to run like that. It would be the equivalent of needing an A1200 to run it on the Amoga side, which still is lame. Point in case, the actual ST (non E version) could not run this game as it should Edit: even this STE version has a reduced play area in order to run decently...

@@Maraka77i Yes, but is this an Atari ST or exclusive STE update? ... if STE then we are talking about another convertion.
It seems so strangely familiar.... Just can't place it. Seems almost like a game with some brothers but naw... That can't be right!
its a C64 game. all other versions are ports
i don't like the way the atari version doesn't scroll. even the c64 version scrolls
Emulators? The C64 scroller doesn't Jitter on a real C64
That awkward moment when the cpc and MSX2 scroll but the Atari ST doesn't...

Atari ST had no 2D hardware acceleration and it was hard to do games with scrolling on ST. CPU had to draw new image every frame to do scrolling and it wasn't fast enough to do so with acceptable FPS. Games used various tricks to sped things out, yet it wasn't as flexible as on other platforms. The worst part is that many devs targeted Atari ST as a base platform and then ported to Amiga or PC, leaving slow software scrolling solution, despite both Amiga and PC had hardware scrolling.
atari ST ,like always, cannot scroll at all :)
