@@markbrown7103 I'm 52 now and just bought a guitar. I've always wanted to play and now that I'm retired I have a little time. Realistically, do you think I can play a few songs in a year or so or is that unrealistic? At my age I would love to be able to just memorize songs I like and play them. I guess I should ask what's the best way to learn? I used to play the violin many years ago when I was in middle school and jr high and was quite good. Haven't picked up an instrument since then until now. Not sure if I should go take and pay for lessons or just try to self teach myself with KZread. Anyway, any help will be appreciated. Sure wish I would've bought a guitar years ago but life got in the way. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Classic guitar performs rhythm and melody at the same time, freaking incredible !
And Johnny, he plays the gui-tar, . . .he can make it cry or sing ! Immortal lyrics from Mark Knopfler apply here to this immortal treasure which has now been moved into the 21st century, ushered in with grace. Yes. I believe Andrés Segovia said it best when he said, “The guitar is like looking at a symphony orchestra through the wrong end of the binoculars.” I began learning to play guitar in 1996 when I was 15. Several years later when I was studying music in college I realized that guitar was written an octave above concert pitch. The range of the guitar is such that, if it were to be written at concert pitch, it would have to be written on the grand staff like piano (treble clef and bass clef connected together).
Such absolute SKILL!
100%! Bravo! The crowd goes wild!
