Brayden asked permission & actually, the producers were probably looking for a way to get more excitement in the show, so they may have gone to Brayden & suggested it. Everything about the bachelor, isn't traditional or normal, so the engagement didn't really break any protocols. Most weddings aren't televised, unless they are royalty.

I just loved the whole night. It was so fun. Yeah proposing at someone else's wedding, I think its disrespectful, tacky, generic and selfish. That's like someone announcing they are pregnant at a gender reveal party. It steals the focus on the 2 people whose day it is AND what makes this even worse is its TELEVISED so now the excitement about the bride and groom has shifted to the newly engaged couple who 100% did it on tv for clout, likes, you just know they will be in magazines, probably talk shows. .i bet we see them (Brayden and what's her butt) on Jimmy Fallon. Like I said, it was disrespectful to take the focus off of Theresa and Gerry. Its already started because now everyone is talking about the proposal and the wedding is starting to dwindle, loose focus. *** I bet that their engagement , gets called off.. WATCH! and if its not the engagement, it will end in divorce with in 5 yr

The producers facilitated it. Nothing about the wedding is "normal". They produced a good show & they got a free wedding that was quite elaborate & had to allow certain things. Since one of them is catholic, they may have a religious ceremony with a priest & this wedding was for the show

Theresa was beautiful in her dress. She didn't get a proper wedding when she was younger. She had two days notice and got married in her parent's basement before her husband got shipped off to war. I think it is lovely she got to have a second chance at the wedding most girls dream of, including the dress! I don't care that she's 70, and I think all the "age appropriate" people are either jealous that she won or need to pull the stick out. Imagine always living by some else's unimportant rules, like once you hit a certain age you have to "look old." FLUFF all that! Life handed Theresa opportunities and she took them. Good for her! And 70 or not, she looked stunning. Gerry and Theresa seemed happy, and those are the only two who matter in this event. This wedding was, after all, a wedding put on by the Bachelor Nation so no, it wasn't your typical wedding and it didn't need to be. For what it was, it was very well done. Also, for those of you who haven't gotten married in the past 30 years, double weddings are a thing now. The intimate family wedding at church or courthouse, and then a more glam ceremony that all the friends and distant family members are invited to. Theresa and Gerry are both Catholic, so good chance that happened. It also explains why the processional was Ave Maria. Catholics can't get married in the church if they are marrying a non-Catholic. Gerry would not have been able to have his marriage blessed by his priest if he married Leslie, who is Jewish. Sounds to me like Gerry's religious beliefs are actually quite important to him, contrary to the comments I see flying around about God not being in the wedding. Overall I am happy that these two matching souls found each other and had a beautiful wedding we were allowed to see. Congratulations Gerry and Theresa, and enjoy Italy and life!

I am amazed at all the negative comments! It's a produced TV show, with real people. There was so much love shown on the show. If it was a scripted, fictional dramady, we would've all loved it.

The Bachelor should have known better than to have a couple get engaged at a wedding...SO TACKY AND DISRESPECTFUL!!!

@lc-il6wr I wouldn't say an overall train wreck. She seems to have a lot well organised and going well and happy in her life, and she's kept her figure and looks, which requires some effort once you're older. But yes, she's hopeless when it comes to men. All that emotional pain and victim stance is highly off putting and indicates she needs to do some serious healing instead of expecting a man to make up for her poor relationship experiences and choices in the past. I don't mind that someone had a go at Gerry for his inconstancy/lying like she did - serves him right, but he's so slippery he doesn't care. He thinks he can talk himself out of anything. A more dignified and emotionally whole person would have tiptoed away, instead of spilling her emotional pain all over a guy who has shown himself to be an uncaring cad.

Can't wait to see who will be the Bachelorette for this summer. Thry were suppose to have announced it during this airing.

Regardless if she didn’t have a big wedding reception, whether it was in a basement or fancy place. It’s kind of insulting to his memory of their wedding day. So in her view this second wedding is more important than her first because of the expensive dress fancy reception and all the attention. Theresa got caught up in all the entertaining. She said it’s been nine years her Billy died, so she wants to be in love again! Fine to fine love again. But you would expect her to say something endearing of her Billy, and that their wedding day was special day to them. Even Gerry repeated, well she had a basement wedding. Let’s not forget the wedding was right before he left to serve our Country. Not sure if she mentioned that!

What this ( old fashioned real love) does, it gives hope in a hopeless dark, divided chaotic world that seems to ( especially gen z) don't believe any reason for marriage, got sonically on love, as rom com writers, producers have died, gone away, ,the industry think consumers aren't interested in ( a fairy tale,as truth).we want to root for love, as population dwindles in the usa, birth rates lowest they have ever been, selfishness, overconsumption, commercialism, lack of any type of faith,religion, as internet, ai, social media became the god, relationship, friend, pacifier,as gen z and younger don't know how to actually have a conversation face to face,or on the phone, instead a cold text, symbols, no emotion, inspiring, moving conversations, heart to heart. People of every age want to vote , have hope for golden bachelor as divorce, separation, bad health, because people give up on themselves after marriage, career, achieving goals,don't really see value in old age, growing old w someone as a possibility, this hopefully shows have hope , anything possible at any age

No man wants to marry a woman who is so beautiful that she has other options. It makes them feel emotionally unsafe. They go for plain , less attractive of downright ugly because it allows them to feel more control. Same thing for intelligence. Theresa was the better woman and Gerry the better man that won. He leaves a string of broken hearts. The strippers reminded me of 1984 when i was talked in to competing in the national male stripper competition. My body builder buddies talked me into itI represent the southeast from UGA and was a finalist. The next week met the Pres. Of California Hunks to pose where i turned her down.

Sorry I did not like her veil , it didn’t suit her at all. Also her dress straps snapped off, and her hair??? Happy for them but if you’re on TV thought who ever was doing her makeup and hair would be better. Also they should have provided a stylist, her dress look uncomfortable. She has an amazing figure for someone in her 70 I would look for a dress that was timeless and elegant. Less Jersey🤣what’s wrong with these Teresa’s? Beautiful women but no style on their special day

Never been to a wedding that didn’t mention God several times but ABC network wokeness took the Lord right out of this show.The groom said God once😢 New World,so sad!

I really enjoyed the show, I did not like the wedding. I didn’t like the family speeches during the wedding ceremony, it should have been at the reception. The whole thing was so scripted. I have seen plenty of live weddings on television and this wasn’t what I would want my wedding to be, especially with the ex’s Leslie and Faith. I know it was a reality show but at any age not what I expected. Did anyone see the reaction Leslie gave when Gerry was reciting the nuptials?
