I remember when my rides reassemble this one. A lot a fun, throttle twisting adrenaline rushes. Time, a few accidents and yes deaths has moved our rides down a notch on the streets but we still scratch the itch at the drag strip and doing land speed racing. Your rides take me back in time and I feel like a time traveler.

Gawdddd!!!!! The sound of those Hondas is incredible! I know they were a bit of a novelty bike when they came out but, holy hell! I could tolerate a lot of evils, like terrible handling and brakes, a seat made of sharpened 4 inch nails even, just to hear that sound every day.

  • @ProjectMoto

They do sound so good, that’s the thing with a lot of these classics you do have to put up with some things but it’s worth it.. the bad bits just add to the fun and excitement of riding them :)

@@ProjectMoto Oh yeah, too true. I definitely wouldn't have one now as an only means of transport but I did back around when these all came out. I never owned or even rode one of those awesome sounding Honda 6s and never owned the Kwackasaki 750 2 strokes, though, I have ridden one a mate had. I rode that stock when he first got it, then after being bored to the max, ported and expansion chambers fitted for road racing, it was an insanity machine even stock. Sadly I rarely even saw a Honda 6 around. I don't know why, maybe everyone was too worried about grinding away engine side cases, maybe there just weren't enough made it to here in Australia but, hell, I might have been tempted just so I could listen to that incredible sound! I do remember the write up in one of the bike magazines at the time. I honestly can't remember what they said about it but, the front cover is stuck in my head. It was a pic of one wheel standing coming towards the camera and near all you could see was this crazy wide engine lol. For sound, I did own and use for everything a D series 750 three cylinder shaft drive Yamaha with a custom 3 into one exhaust which did sound pretty fantastic. I'm still riding but too old and too battered to be forever working on bikes now but, I sure can enjoy the sounds a machine like those Honda 6s make.

Not to rain on anybody's personal preferences, but back in the day- one guy I knew lost control of his 6 & crashed, done.Word was the undercurrent of wide engine caused front wheel lift.

@@DanielDickman-qs3ey Gee, and here I was thinking the power may have been the reason for most wheel stands. Good to know some of the guys I've raced who looped it at the start line were actually really good riders and just the wind as the tried to launch flipped them.
